2 pointsmade it back to AKL nice and quick. glad we went the way we did because the weather was a shocker so there was plenty of rain and wind and couldnt see much anyway. made really good time too. about 7 hours or so driving for just under 700kms. there were quite a few areas of rocks that slid down the cliff onto the roads etc but overall very easy. I will definitely do the other route another time!

2 pointsOrdered some cosmetic parts for the car recently, first one was something I'd been after for a while and it showed up the other day. Replacement strip on the roof in white, my one was missing the flap that covered one of the roof rack mounts. Hard to find part so getting one in white was a great find and at a nice price shipped. Missing tab which you can't replace ? New strip fitted really tidies up the car.

1 pointI guess it is now seen as a "nice-to-have" due to age and type of vehicle. it will now be more of a toy rather than a workhorse. i have been trying to flog my cousin's old pulsar for the past month and a bit, while there are tonnes of low ballers and punters, have only had a few viewings. it's just a poor time to be selling anything tbh, it is a buyers market with no one wanting to buy.

1 pointI feel the market in general has changed a lot over the past couple of months. When I bought my Mini they were selling as quick as they could be listed, now i've been sitting on mine for a few weeks and only one person has been in touch. Guessing COVID has made people think twice about spending money.

1 pointGot it out on the track at Manfield yesterday - a lot of fun with the Constructors/MG car club. Very happy with the new suspension and wheel/tyre situation. I do wish I'd got the rear swaybar sorted in time, and I could hear a new clunk on the drive home, but had a very enjoyable day with great company. Photo: Jarod Carruthers

1 point@Sammo maybe he means, because it's not from the BMW Dealership. @Seba FCP is the way to go, all OEM parts, make sure you stock up on some oil filters at the same time, alot cheaper over there than over here

1 point@Olaf learned to paint pretty quick as the missus kept getting hit by uninsured drivers, and didn't want to pay excess haha. I've learned painting good ain't that hard sticking to basics. Painting exceptionally However is probably something id need in-store trade experience with. Like my clear coat strokes aren't thick and heavy usually because I hate runs, I just do lighter coats and 3 to 4 of them instead of a painter doin 2 efficient thick coats. Having good lighting is really essential in the clear coat stage, been tripped up going to thick in an area because I cant see. It's all in the prep as you know anyway, and can't emphasise the importance of wax and Grease remover or having a good substrate before paint gets applied, i.e. in the past I've had some spider web like flare up to an unknowns chemical from a previous repair. Diy at home there's probably one thing I'm really struggling with, bug control haha, painting at night and a plague of those little buggers migrate to the garage Definitely get a compressor and paint gun, one of the best asset / toys to have in the shed. Get a devilbiss flg5 from spraygunsdirect.co.uk An very good all round gun and exceptional finishes with it. I might recommend you find a cheap gun for primer. And the flg5 for paint / clear.

1 pointdid the rounds of Pick a part this afternoon, got a replacement steering wheel for $29, same 4 spoke wheel but MUCH nicer condition, a few bits of trim, and a donor instrument cluster to change the original from MPH to KPH, I'm leaving the MPG on the economy gage to trigger those who prefer their miles In metric!!

1 pointSo swirl flaps are not an issue, doesn't have any, never did! thick, black, gunk on the other hand, it has plenty of!!

0 pointsWith the car rubbing bad in the rear decided to lift it via spring adjusters, then put a smaller profile tyre on and went back out, the difference was night and day, i was able to keep the wheel speed up but raising it had changed the rear toe and it was getting zero side bite, combine this setup with trying to learn drifting at speed and..well...
