Sorry I'm late to the party. I'm Keith of KC design concept - Hyde Motor Works. Nobody's saying that superchargers are the best option for everybody. But they are an option. All of the Hyde Motorworks Supercharger kits have been proven thousands of times over. Adding to that, the superchargers that have failed were used units that most likely had extremely high mileage and or were not properly maintained. The sc14 in question, has proven itself in the American Endurance Championship Series. In many cases involved a 24 hour race. With zero failure, running 9 PSI on a m52b28. But once again this was with proper maintenance, on a strictly track prepped race car. Now if you are just looking to add a little more power to your street car, without modifying everything else , the sc14 would be ideal. You can literally bolt it on and tune it in a weekend. But once again this is offered as an option, to build something different, do something different. Personally I prefer 600 + horsepower.

I currently use a charcoal furnace but I am in the process of upgrading an old electric kiln to use instead, I have done some stuff with steel moulds but mostly just use sand moulds and MDF patterns. To satisfy my own sense of humor I made sure I used some of the old suspension arms from the M5 in this casting!!

Well someone just got an absolute bargain on an E63 M6. Car had done ~50,000km, was NZ New, and was a nice spec with the carbon interior and carbon roof. There was a catch, it had been crashed. However, I am no expert with assessing damaged cars but to me at least the car looked reasonably repairable. The structure doesn't really look to have been damaged in the crash and honestly looked in remarkably good condition. The car still rolled and could be pulled onto a transporter. Even if the body was toast, surely you could get 5K for the S85 especially seeing it has done 50,000km (and lets be honest S85s are never going to be in short demand). Then there's the SMG box, exhaust, interior, undamaged body panels. Surely there's at least 10K in parts right there. AND ALL OF IT SOLD FOR $4210 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/wrecked-cars/listing/3268500009?bof=FPDzf4bj Photos are not mine, they were taken from the Trademe listing.

Hi, have just been bitten with the E46 bug after having owned 30+ Toyota MR2's, I have just purchased an NZ new 330Ci that needs a little work and it arrived just before lockdown, no excuse not to be working on it, cheers.

Given Hydes previous statements about NZ women and characterisation of Bimmersport members as "cuckloaders", would he care to talk about the links between the HMW logo and cuckold symbology? I guess he is just fortunate his meltdown didn't coincide with Tarants actions in Christchurch. He did well to leave NZ when he did but can be sure the folk at Pine Gap etc will always be watching.

Seriously? Dude, you live in an apartment complex in Germany and you're making vague threats at people in NZ again? Grow up mate.

Won't be changing my mind Got the t-shirt from playing with this crap. I wouldn't put this kind of set up on a customer vehicle. I have no doubt the bigger blowers work well, reliably. No argument there. Water meth done after the charger and the cooler, obviously. Mine had the cooler under the intake manifold Even the old fashioned M90 is running well outside its efficiency area with your figures, go read a map. You can manage 290whp on an n/a 2.8 without a piss poor compromised blower set up running miles past peak efficiency, creating hot air and reliability problems. You can clearly see on your 3psi dyno run that the engine starts to out breathe the blower significantly, which would be pretty bang in line with what an m90 chart says will happen, and the sc14 is less efficient A non intercooler set up, and no water injection is rubbish and should have been left in the Bently blower days. I'm not worried about the hp. It's just a crap set up and a crap blower. I wouldn't have my name on it

Dang, I adore this attention to detail. Have you done any work similar to this type of manifold design and construction? Seems like it's not your first time.

Yeah I think the same, I saw it at like 1AM this morning at $1.50 with 18 hours left I was like hmmm I think someone has made a listing error here. Car looks to have a genuine 50,000km, carjam shows at last WOF it had 48,000km. Would have bought it myself if I wasn't stuck in level 4 Auckland lol.

Loving the full CMP auto brace ... suspect I'll end up doing the full brace at some point, at which time I'll be coming back here for those top tips again Great job with the painting and getting it oem looking.

I think Glenn might be on to it with spigot bearing being the wrong size.. Unless of course you checked it beforehand..

I lived there recently. It will cost more. And it is a massive hassle to send things to NZ unless you have an account with a courier service. I just got a replacement coil pack from ECS Tuning in Ohio for free under warranty. Came in 10 working days. And they had to wait for the part to get shipped to them in that time too. Both FCP and ECS are great. Oh man I miss 2 day free shipping from them whilst I was living there.

Compare Schneidmann before buying from FCP. FCP is good but sometimes a European source is cheaper Their shipping rates are also not too bad for NZ, when i last used them. Not sure it would be worthwhile really. Shipping to NZ isn't cheap either way, especially due to covid pushing the shipping prices up.

Had one... Full BBR engine, brake and suspension kit, Abarth panels... 😊

I think the underdash panels are pretty well received. Not sure about the mtech kits stuff though, you would probably be best to have a search on the E30 Enthusiasts Australia facebook group.

I am honored and amused that you think there are plans!! Its all out of my head and made largely from what I had kicking around the garage. If anyone is keen to replicate it I can post up some photos with measurements, and I have the pattern to cast the aluminium block so I could work out a price to supply that, the rest is pretty straight forward. A couple of points to note: 1)I used an E39 hub but that might not be the best option considering the odd bore size on the E39 hubs. 2)As it stands it has no ability to deal with dents on the outer lip of the wheel, it wasn't an issue for me as all the rims I have to repair are only dented on the inside edge. If a wheel is buckled on the outside edge I would question whether it is wise to attempt to repair it anyway given that it is probably cracked as well. 3)I have used a 4T panel beating hydraulic pump / ram kit so far, but I would recommend getting a 10T kit as I am getting to the limit of the 4T pump quite easily. 4) I have no problem with anyone using my design and making one for their own use, I will consider it a dick move if someone starts making them and selling them! 5) I am open to hiring this out in the Auckland area but I'm not keen to lend out my dial indicator so you would need to aquire one if you don't already have one, pm me if keen.

We should get tax rebates since we're buying car parts, we are keeping our cars on the road pumping CO2 out for the trees to thrive which improve crop yields and greening of the planet. More busy courier vans is probably a good thing too.

finally got around to using the engine support i made in the last lockdown, dropped the subframe on the E21 to get the sump off and fix the oil leak, only to discover i don't have the correct sump plug crush washer, or any oil to put back in it!!
