Hello As per title I currently own an E91 PFL 330D Touring. It's an AWESOME car and we've had a great run from it - but it's getting to a point where it needs an enthusiast to take some time doing some maintenance (which I have a lot of OE parts for) I've just committed to replacing it with a 335D Touring (https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/335d/listing/3545233440?bof=GIZZ5ZCe). This will give me a bit of breathing space to figure out my best plan of attack with the 330D. Pros of 330D NZ NEW Montego Blue Factory 18's Leather Heated Sport Seats - black Brushed Alloy Trim Comfort Access (2x keys but only one works with comfort access, needs prioritizing in key queue) Factory Hideaway Towbar Radar Cruise Control No pesky i-drive front/read PDC Auto lights, dimming mirrors Recently removed all the butterflys from swirlflaps - have blanking kit and new seals to do it properly. Recently replaced starter motor with brand new one 160,000 WOF and Reg well into end of year/ beginning of next 160,000km on clock - RUC paid to 165,000. Good service history and books included. I've done the last 2 oil changes myself with BMW genuine filter. Replaced air filter (worst design ever bmw) cabin filter, fuel filter. Fitting new thermostat this weekend (car not getting up to full temp, unable to do exhaust burn off) Cons Was a Southland car originally and has a lot of stonechips on drivers front corner of car Bumper was swiped by someone recently on front drivers bumper corner, mostly polished out but with stone chips probably almost warrants a touchup/respray Wheels are curbed and tires slightly too small (probably main cause of kerbing) Needs trans service, have bought new genuine ZF pan and all associated gaskets/seals including valvetronic body and connector. EGR control valve "honking" - have bought aftermarket replacement is under intake manifold so should be done when addressing swirlflaps scanning codes shows that the glowplugs aren't functioning, doesn't CEL or anythign and car has always started ok. stock of this seemed non existant when I looked so didn't worry about it. Has been used for it's purpose - a good practical car. Awesome for pretty much any duties Obviously a great car and it actually has more features than it's replacement, but I really need something I don't have to worry about as I've just started a new job and I've got two new houses and a renovation on the go. Would like to know what people think, I would like to get atleast $10,000. Cheers! Ben

The Foxwell NT530 scanner with BMW software list the E39 as being in it's coverage. http://blog.foxwellstore.com/foxwell-nt530-bmw-obd2-scanner-vehicle-coverage-faqs/

Let me know how you get on with your "worlds fastest LPG powered station wagon" record attempt!!

I'd never be allowed to work there. I'd be taking them all out for a drive.

For $65k we could buy two S50B32 and fit them into our cars.

Sounds like a broken solder joint on the rectifier pack in the alternator, would cause intermittent charge issues. Try checking voltage after driving it for a bit, or carry a meter with you and check voltage when it plays up Diagnostic tool can be potentially difficult on that era e39

I suspect 11-12k for the right buyer would be fair, might be an easier sell with some of the work done? E9x 30d/35d's are reasonably uncommon and a nice blend of performance / economy, sounds like decent specs also.

The houndstooth interior I can understand - sports seats, rears, plus all door cars matching is a good find. A decent clean and they probs would have gone for more. The 320i auto, seems a bit optimistic!

We should really have the same rules as the UK in that regard @Kees - fine to change registration plate, but it returns to the plate it had on first registration once personalised plate is removed...

Saw that on the carjam and that really pissed me off. I'm quite OCD with original plate combos on NZ New cars since its something you cannot get back once you put a dumb personalised plate on it. Makes me even more mad when the plate has been on there for years like with that M5. Keeping the original combination really completes the car in my opinion. My W8, e34 540i and 207 GTI all are on there original plates. I'm so OCD I actively look for cars with original plates and would pay a premium for it too.

Definitely, it's a super cool fabric I love mine. An E30 M3 I saw with mtex in it on instagram a while back: But when you're doing a whole interior the cost of the fabric adds up fast... and with there being so many cool period correct fabrics available for the E30 I'd probably end up going one of those routes. You're welcome to have a poke around mine to see what you think of the fabric in person if there is another meet sometime soon.

God, those $10 repco spray can style black rims change the whole appearance of the car. Along with the tatty looking front lip, it looks like it should be cruising around the streets of Huntly or Flaxmere on dole day.

I've not driven an e39 m5, but I think I would rather have a super tidy e90 with budget for all the maintenance than $65k for a rough one of these. Condition & kms being equal, I'd take the m5 though.

It has a little plus inflation / interest rates, but the only M325i that hasn't shifted in the blink of an eye in the last 12 months or so is the Silver Tech 1 dealer flip that was asking $70k now asking $60k - clearly too high. Mtech1 is very rare and Black is THE colour for a lot of people.

    Gotta be $45k Black / Tech 1 / winning

Back up for sale, https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/535i/listing/3542923920?bof=XTNmWP9q Looks like the real estate agent has run out of reals to estate and is moving to Aus.
