  1. Didn't think I'd like it but that looks good. Props.
  2. I realised after reading another forum that there's extra coding for cruise control that wasn't included (or even mentioned) in the instructions I followed. By coding the KOMBI (instrument cluster) you can have set speed displayed on the dash. This was a far less traumatic experience with NCSExpert, read and then changed one option, uploaded the changes and took it for a quick test drive, success!
  3. If you missed out the first time it's back, and even less expensive. $118. https://www.repco.co.nz/en/globes-batteries-electrical/battery-chargers-power-accessories/battery-chargers/ctek-battery-charger-with-bonus-power-bank-and-accessories-40-358/p/A6115831 Silly not to have one at this price really.
  4. Stoked, they look better than I expected. Proper 1er offsets drag them in a bit compared to the RC's but that also means they won't rub! Initial impressions of the R003's (with the mould release still on them) is that they're very communicative whilst remaining really quite, good signs.
  5. I couldn't sell my M3 in 2008, when I moved to Europe, for $17k. Now I thank my blessings.
  6. As long as they don't damage my rims I'll be happy, can't see myself needing to make a return visit any time soon but hopefully their service doesn't tank. I shall be reporting back my thoughts on them after I've broken them in a bit. I'm no expert and rarely drive to the limit of the tyres so won't be able to comment on their race readiness. ?
  7. Yeah, gotta say I was impressed with them today. If my opinion holds after Friday then I'm happy to send business their way, they actually did seem to give a sh*t, branch manager took his time and priced up a number of options for me without bother, workshop and showroom were also spotless. I'm glad I visited.
  8. Bridgestone R003's ordered from Tony's Tyres, thanks for the tip @Jacko - they have a new outlet literally on my street. I'd actually ordered and paid for a set of Goodyears from Discount Tyres online but they emailed me later and said they couldn't fulfil. That was a pain because I missed the end of Bridgestone's sale (31 Oct) so costs went back up by ~$500 ?. They have been hassle free in processing the refund though, and they've updated their website stock since so credit there. Tony's priced the R003's out at ~$1650 but matched the Bridgestone sale price even though it was finished (there's obviously a good margin on tyres in NZ). 2 x 225/40/18 + 2 x 255/35/18 for $1,208 = $300 a corner which I can't complain about. I'll get them mounted on Friday.
  9. Did you see the $10k one in Auckland? I doubt you're getting a manual for less than that. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2724085311

    My new daily wagon

So by now you will have worked out I pointed to the wrong "Jon"... ? Good work on the new acquisition, I'm looking forward to the progress mate!
  11. Seriously? What do you think you'd get for "old race wets"? About $0 unless some flat cap, stance burnout kid wants them for $50 (if you're lucky). How long to you think it would take to sell a single 10j unmatched wheel? Months? Years? Forever? Is it even straight? And then you are left with 4 wheels that don't match and one is effectively destroyed so you'd need to find another outer rim or pay what to "fix" and balance it? I'm not sure what you're seeing that I'm not but that pile is not worth a grand+ in my eyes. You're better off with a set of straight reps.
  12. lol - possibly the worst deal of the century.
  13. That may be the case but check your reluctor rings first: https://www.babybmw.net/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=104227, it's easy and free.

The one that is on looked sweet today Andrew, very aero!
  15. I don't think you'd know unless somebody told you, and even then... It's got a slight metallic sparkle to it and doesn't look as flat, cleared up a couple of scratches too. And it looks much better since I've been driving around with it off since the last lockdown.
  16. Should appeal to somebody: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/accessories/listing/2842559912 Continental BMW on the Shore.
  17. They look more grey in person than in my pics but still in the grey/silver spectrum. It's quite a tricky colour really, they look quite different from different angles. I'm not one to judge if it's a perfect colour match, I'd probably need to put them next to some BMW factory ones before I could make that call. Regardless I do like the colour, it's much darker than the stock colour so should suit the car better.
  18. And buy one get one half price up until midnight tomorrow which makes them pretty sharp, better than anything quality Hyper has with their "40% off" BS. But Bridgestone's online store can't calculate correctly and it is quoting me $57 more than the sum of the costs. How hard is it to get a computer to add stuff up correctly? ? I see I can get F1's from Discount Tyres for the same price as the Bridgestones, and in my preferred directional(f)+asym(r) configuration. Decisions, decisions.
  19. Wheels and rear diffuser freshly painted in Ferric Grey II by GT Refinishers, lovely. The diffuser change is very subtle, to the extent that it might not have been necessary, but it does 'pop' a lot more than the standard grey. Now on the hunt for tyres, I'm torn between sticking with what I know I like with Goodyear F1's or spending a little less on something different. Not a lot of natural light for the pics today. Oh, and I just realised I only have 3 of the little ///M badge stickers. ?
  20. Those last three motorsport pics are epic.
  21. I *believe* so, and I would suggest you assume so unless somebody with a pre-LCI can confirm otherwise.
  22. Bumpity bump. Surely one of you PRE-LCI owners are pining for the full set. And somebody with an LCI must need the lens only set to tint.
