Sure you do, all the eBay sellers that are selling a lifetime subscription for the cost of a legit one month subscription! ? The OP is better off with legit software that's not Carly.
-
Keen to hear how it feels afterwards.
-
If you pay anything more than $0 for pirated software the joke's on you. ?
-
Not normally, most of these apps don't do low level stuff like that which requires flashing module chips. For that you typically need NCS or a proper BMW rig.
-
@lbo99 - do this, if nothing else it will give you a baseline. @Aaron - nice one bro.

I'm not suggesting you get work done elsewhere, just that you go somewhere that will read and print the codes for you. BMW themselves aren't very good with M cars either. They often have 1 tech who's been certified and then they either leave or forget what they've learnt for older cars. In fact, a BMW dealership is probably the worst place to take an older M car tbh.
-
You need to go elsewhere... a quick Google throws up lot's of independents in Christchurch such as https://www.kevinburtltd.co.nz/ (I have no experience with them, they were just first on the list). Call one of them, explain that your M3 isn't performing as expected and you need a quote to have all of the codes read and a printout to take away with you. Upload that printout here... it's all guesswork otherwise. If the it's not throwing any code, or making any crazy noises then it's going to be a mission I'm afraid. Does @Aaron have an OBDII computer to plug it in to in ChCh? I don't know.

Thanks, yes it's one of those strips of rubber that I'd like to (but don't need to) replace.
-
Irrespective of the market you can always give yourself the best chance of selling. I reckon $80 worth of cleaning products and a day's effort and you'd have that thing looking sharp inside and out, including the engine bay. A clean car is always easier to sell, might be worth the effort? I don't think the price is unreasonable if it were spick and span.
-
Good stuff, how do you get that strip out? I want to replace the gasket on one of mine.
-
Ouch, but at least you got some good photos! Thanks for posting, sorry it ended up that way, hope you're not too bruised (body, ego and enthusiasm)!

$180 new from BMW NZ FWIW, probably cheaper than importing one. If you do find one for less please let me know, I need a new one too.
-
If you also need the "pork chops" I have L+R OE brand new (51711977117+51711977118). Feel free to look up the retail price and send me a PM, you can have them for retail without any shipping overheads (assuming you can pick them up in Ellerslie or Newmarket).

Yes, it's clear at normal ride height... but not if I got airborne! Sure, it will only make contact under limited circumstances but it shouldn't at all really. I'm regularly putting my cars on stands and wouldn't want to bother with this every time, you can't really remove it or put it on unless you undo the drop links or prop up the hubs. I don't think getting it cut would be that expensive but I've not explored that yet.
-
But why ruin a good sway bar? I could just remove it altogether and put it up for $1 reserve, I'll come out ahead that way. ?
-
So, after some trials and tribulations I got the undertray installed today but she's not ready to drop off the stands because the tray fouls the sway bar (at full droop). Perhaps they haven't found the perfect solution? ? It will be easy enough to fix by trimming ~10mm off the rear of the tray but that shouldn't be necessary. I've gone back to Turner, who have been great so far, but I can't imagine what type of solution they can offer. That issues aside the tray is awesome and locks the whole front end, including my new arch liners together, it's far superior to the jumble of stock plastic bits!

I have an aftermarket PCV (of all things), do you think that would affect this recall?

Rough value for insurance and my own knowledge.

I haven't kept an eye on prices tbh, didn't realise they were easing up. Not a bad car of course, loved mine for what it was. -

I sold mine for less than 3 grand and that was practically mechanically rebuilt from the ground up and had a completely replaced, mint M-Rain/leather interior. I'm not sure they're worth over 4 or 5 grand in auto to be honest. Why would they be when you can get an E46 or E8x 6 cylinder for similar money? -
I do have the Rain-X, was like 50% off at SuperCheap a few weeks back, haven't added it yet. I just replaced my rear wiper motor, maybe when this one breaks I can consider the delete again! ?

They do look good on a black car... One side: Both sides:

I didn't know that Vehicle Parts site existed, must check it out. Auction was buy now for $150. They've followed up, it's legit. It will probably sit at home unpainted for quite some time I'd imagine.

Hmm, let's see how this works out, I'll be arranging cash on collection, nothing else. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/car-parts-accessories/bmw/accessories/listing/2794775974

Perhaps if you'd lead with "that article does makes sense but I don't think it's entirely true" the discussion might have turned out different? Regardless, I appreciate the concession, you can enjoy continuing without me.
