Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
Driftit replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
Yeah but some twat offered $2250 buy now... Awesome though. I have a set of these in storage. There is actually heaps of them around. All the E30 series cars use to run them. They are not rare at all. -
Listed Yesterday. Already dropped $2k....... the old fake sale. Typical car dealer. Failed it's last WOF too.
-
Have you checked with Aaron Harris Nik? There was someone selling parts on here a few months back too. That might have been Aaron actually.
-
Wow that kit. I feel like that fad was short-lived. The rocket bunny fad where they slapped on some 70s Torana fender flares with rivets.
-
For some reason I feel like it was someone from this site many moons ago.
-
Did you get this from Aliexpress? Trying to find something similar for an E34 sport wheel.
-
Yes there are many parts listings on Ebay via Eastern Europe. Not too expensive. I need to have a look at one to see what other parts I need.
-
Surprised that the TDS that I purchased is actually a TD. Should have picked that up via it's rego but have been busy and missed it. So no intercooler. If you know of anyone wrecking one or someone that could have the parts let me know. I would quite like the Extra HP and cooling.
-
Really Cool. But you want to be in the back. Not the pleb driving.

I am glad you kept at it then.

Was slightly confused by the $5000 advertised price and the fact that it went for over $8000. Was it an Auction? Or just Facebook where anything goes? Still a great deal if you can tidy it up.
-
Ooooh. Hard decision though. E30 or save $10k and have something that is actually rare. Better looking and a V12.

Well I got permission and a deal was made with Alex. Should be a great runner for me.

I put my old one in the 130i today. What a POS. Get a newer one that doesn't think EVERYTHING is an emergency.

Whilst I was pulling my hair out searching through the depths of hell for anything of worth I saw this. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/435040174543638/ It's on Facebook. And like everything else on Facebook there is stuff all information. Also typical of BookFace there is multiple prices. $6500 and 10Kono.

Yeah they will be fine for older tech like that. Check to see what your phones support. Or even look at the phone chargers. Mines an Android and supports QC4+ I don't recall what the iPhone equivalent is. Could be the same. The chargers will usually have this symbol on them. Otherwise look up the phone specs on GSMarena.com

I prefer smart chargers for my phones. Old style chargers like those above are far too slow. Needs to support at least QC4 or QC4+ protocol. Thermal balancing is a good idea especially if you phone is dash mounted and in the sun. I got one of these for the dashcam. https://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics-photography/video-cameras/car-cameras/listing-3091451981.htm?rsqid=4101486e6ab64e2f9f16119e5f8c3050-002

Yeah I agree. First one I had was like that. Second one I got was by Anker. Has a built in battery and Wifi. https://goroav.com/ Not bad to be honest. I did have a firmware issue with one. But the support was very good and sent me a new one overnight (USA).
-
Oh and make sure the power source you give it actually switches off with the car. I had a dashcam in my E46 and the cig lighter port never turned off. So it never went into sleep mode.
-
Can't you just get one to plug into your head unit?
-
What do you have left from the IS? I wouldn't mind some spares depending on condition. Though it must have been in a sorry state for you to strip it. They are starting to go up in value.

Is importing a car from Oz to here a nightmare?
Driftit replied to Kodachrome's topic in General Discussion
If you can take ownership and leave it there with your brother for year you could avoid GST. Probably go up in value too. -
Just to be straight. I couldn't care less where you come from. What does Chinesium mean? Chinesium is a made up element, not found on the periodic table, which was invented as a blanket term for every cheap material (metal, plastic, ceramic) originating from China, manufactured at a low quality to decrease production costs and to maximize profits.

Looks nice. Just seems really short. As you said it might just be the angle. Have a weighted momo knob in the S13. Works well.
