  1. Why am I even posting this. Maybe you're bored. Read about the new fugly Ti. https://www.topgear.com/car-reviews/bmw/128ti-5dr-step-auto/first-drive
  2. Are these the new E30's? Bimmersport was once chock full of E30's. Now they all gather dust in sheds. I think a 130i meet could be a laugh.

    WLG -> AKL Drive

Wellington - SH2 through to Woodville, over the Saddle to Palmy. Back roads through Vinegar Hill to SH1. Up to Waiuru. Then you have two options. Ohakune or Taupo. If you wanted to detour up the mountain I would go Ohakune. The rest of the way to Auckland isn't too interesting to me. Avoiding SH1 as much as possible bar between Waiuru and Taupo is recommended.

Ah yeah. We are on a farm and have a number of gates and have to get out often. If I go too fast it comes on. I heard it in a movie the other day. Instantly triggered.
  5. Yeah it is one of my favorites now. I will pick up a 135i for fun times soon. Hoping I can find the same combo.
  6. Another one. Best value for money Bimmer's at the moment. I have had this for just over a year now. I purchased it sight unseen from @GorGasm on the forum. Knowing how well he looks after his cars it was an easy decision. Was in the US and needed a car when I got back. It has just clocked 108,000kms. It's all standard bar the replacement coil packs and some wheels (forgot the style). And that is the way it will mostly stay. It is our worry free commuter. I have a replacement stereo sitting in the US that I will bring over at some stage. Soon it will be doing daily duty over the Remutaka Hill and back most days. So tires, suspension, brakes will all be carefully maintained. But it really is a great car for the hill. I need to find a brake pad and rotor combo that is cost effective for hill duties. Suggestions welcome. I'm not heavy on the brakes but you do use them more than any normal commute. It does have quite a unique color combo though. It has Terracotta leather. Sadly it doesn't get washed much at the moment. Live on a farm up a gravel drive in the middle of nowhere on tank water. And it will soon be bug season. Anyway this is just a log of yet another E87.

Oh that reverse gong... Drives me mad. I have programmed it out a number of times only for it to turn itself back on.

Nice. They are a great commuter/bang for buck bimmer. I enjoy my worry free driving in mine.
  9. Highlighting this thread up for visibility. @Jamez I think you have helped in the other thread to answer how the site is currently hosted and what is being done to sort out the downtime that occurred. Are you able to provide some figures for traffic etc?

Ah dead link already. Wish trademe would not do that.
  11. Feel free to contact Andrew about it. James Watson is hosting the site at the moment. But maybe someone more active would like to take over doing so. I am not sure what their agreement is. TBH the alternative for me would be to no longer participate in the community if the forum were to stop. You could not pay me to use Facebook or other social media platforms. So if you have time and the ability it would be much appreciated.
  12. Can't be that coomon though right Glenn. I would expect you to have seen it though.
  13. Heat exchanger failing? First I have ever heard of that on a BMW.

    GR Yaris

Ah you see I hated the FWD Starlets and was never a fan of MR2's. I also still have a S13 which these days is a whole lot of meh and money. Now if they made a newer KP60 and ditched the Yaris name and went back to Starlet I would be on board. But that's a nope to the Sporty Econo Box at 2nd hand M3/4 prices. I dumped Toyota when they murdered the Soarer.

Isn't that around what you can get a Hyundai i30N for? Would rather the Hyundai TBH.
  16. I would love to see someone take that situation to court.
  17. It's only $15 from Repco. It's the most common solution for the box in other brands that have the same box.
  18. Hah. Just done all that. Service and additive solved it 100% for me. Only took a few hours. Mine was low on oil and had been done before. I feel this made the issue worse. Likely someone didn't fill it correctly.
  19. That's crazy. Their performance is so poor outside of cold weather. I didn't trust them at all in DC when it wasn't snowing. In Quebec they were amazing though.
  20. I thought Snow tyres don't pass a WOF now. And if that is the case they should not be passing compliance. In Canada and no doubt some northern US states you can get a fine for running tyres outside of the season they were made for. Bad Tyres, Bad Roads, Bad Drivers. And it is only getting worse as people hold onto their poorly maintained econoshitters for longer and longer.
  21. Seems odd they are putting no effort into helping you fix it. No doubt they have not attempted to find the parts from the specialists. One of the BMW specialist wreckers will have what you need. Can you get quotes yourself and offer it to the insurance company?
  22. Had my one for around 10 years now. Does it's job well.
  23. Someone was advertising a Jammer in the for sale section.
  24. It tempted me for a bit until I started building a house. I do think it would be better than a series car (especially with the Delorto's). And unless you live in the upper North Island it would be a better fit to the available race series as you mentioned. I'm not currently interested in the race series either. Travel costs are too high. Local racing is where it is at. And Manfield is the best track anyway All the best.
