Cool. Will plug the controller in and have a watch.

I'm not keen on pulling the box out on a cheap car like this. Not worth what little time I have at the moment. And there isn't anyone down here I would pay to have it done sadly. Will try the service and Dr Tranny and see how it goes.
-
No worries. It's only due about now. But I took it to the track and it's done some work over the hill often. And sprints at Ohakea. I just need to make sure I have the right box so I order the right parts. But Mdecoder is not working at the moment.
-
Yeah you can pick them up for less than 10k. Guys in the DMV were buying them just to strip for parts for projects.
-
Yup that's it. Well everything else needed doing anyway so no loss. But more work ahead with servicing the box.

So here's a twist. Located the exact problem over the weekend with the help of my Mrs. I sent myself off in the wrong direction just by chance. If the Coil pack and Valvetronic motor had not been playing up at the same time I would have found this issue straight away. But it took a fresh pair of eyes and some testing to narrow it down. The issue is not a misfire. It feels just like one though. And with the loss of a coil pack at the same time it is what I focused on. The issue is likely the Torque Converter. It's low RPM shudder feels just like a misfire. But changing the car to sport mode virtually eliminates it. And manual gear selection it is gone. Which is odd behavior for a misfire. You can read all about it here. https://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showthread.php?t=675181#/topics/675181?page=5 Many suggest the same things we all thought. Plugs, Coils, Valvetronic motor. His symptoms are identical to mine. So I ran the info on the box. Fluid quality is at 23%. No idea what that means but it can't be that great. I have ordered a new filter and oil kit for it from FCP. And may end up chucking some Dr Tranny in too.

I need to introduce you to my friend Ed. He has an absolutely mint AW11, SA22, Starion, DR30's and BFMR's. If it was a colt 80's Jappa he probably has one.

Taken a hit to the front? Might have set off the bags.
-
Awesome. You should have good fun.

I watch too much vehicle related video content. Usually about old broken down junk that I fall for and end up wanting my own.

Defence or Private? 6x6?

No Autobahn is the issue for the E60. Though it was nice going over the ranges to Hahei in your one. The sound was the greatest pleasure.
-
Yeah it was. I got a VTNZ WOF this time last year and it was $59. What is strange is that CarJam does not show that I got this WOF. Or are they one behind?
-
Repco has oil on Sale again. And if you spend over $75 and order online you get another $15 off. $25 off if over $100. Castrol 5w30 LL is $69.00
-
Good ol'days huh. Paid $15 a pint (US Pint ) in the CBD last week. Even my local Gladstone Pub is $9 a handle and it's only open Wed to Sunday. No more Monday drinking.
-
Wow gone are the days of the $20 WOF. Long gone.

It needs to change it's rating system. 2nd Hand Item - Rate the trader New Item - Rate the trader and the item Obviously rating the Item would only work for items with brand names and/or model numbers. Not crafted items. This lumped into one website they have is a sh*t show.

Ordering things from Trademe. Ordered a small cable on Sunday afternoon. They only put it in (not sent) a courier bag yesterday at 3pm. Due to arrive Friday to a commercial address. Just too slow.
-
Yeah that is quite nice. Who did the bearings though. Looks like a home job from that photo lol. I think after Sam heard @FIAT 131R's stunning E90 M3 the other week (He does have a very nice remus exhaust) she is quite keen on one. Will get the house on the ground first. Then look at selling the 200sx and getting something she can thrash.
-
Yeah I plan to try and make it. However I still haven't figured out my issue with it yet.
-
Quite nice. Considering that there is a same year Golf GTI on the same companies listings for only $12K less than this far far far superior BMW

Setting up a VM for ISTA+ and ISTA-P and other tools
Driftit replied to Driftit's topic in General Discussion
I'm only new to ISTA. And my "genuine" FTDI chip cable died on the weekend so I haven't done any programming with it. I thinking latency is going to be an issue. Many of these cables require the port latency to be set to 1ms or they just don't work. -
Setting up a VM for ISTA+ and ISTA-P and other tools

I was hoping to set something up that works with what most people have. I haven't used ICOM before. It has quite a few advantages over DCAN/KCAN but is unknown to me. -
Setting up a VM for ISTA+ and ISTA-P and other tools

Cloud based was what I was thinking. But as mentioned the USB side of things would be a nightmare. This is what I want to test and see how much of a nightmare. But my main computer is in another location at the moment and working on a single 13" screen and track pad is driving me nuts. Will grab the proper computer tomorrow and have a play. -
Setting up a VM for ISTA+ and ISTA-P and other tools
Driftit replied to Driftit's topic in General Discussion
I was thinking we keep it 10. https://www.bimmerdiagnostics.com/ do a one click install that works on all platforms for 15 quid. Though I could imagine all the different cables could cause an issue. I will have a play around and see if I can get it working locally first. My VM knowledge is limited though.
