  1. Alpina, or Ruf, or classic Audi quattro. Not that i am in the market but a boy can dream...
  2. Im pretty sure i still have an e21 4 speed lying around in storage somewhere if you are still looking.
  3. OMG thats terrible, im not a violent person but i want to punch the person that did that.
  4. You can actually do it either way, it will just be a much higher value resistor in parallel than if you put it in series, as long as the total resistance of the led and the resistor is the same, or similar, to the filament type bulb it should work.Obviously if the resistor is too big it will dim the led but they use such a tiny amount of power it doesnt have to affect the brightness.
  5. You need to change the resistance of the leds so the computer thinks there is a light bulb there. Im not sure if you can recode it so it doesnt check for number plate lights, but its probably easier to put a resistor in series with the led bulbs so it knows they are there.
  6. Now that i know what your offer is i can swoop in with a higher offer and cut you out of the running !!
  7. I doubt that the extra you might get for it would cover the cost of fixing it, plus i dont believe in fixing things on cars just for the new owner to enjoy it!
  8. That looks like a second pump attached to the tank, i would pull them both out, get a new pump and chuck it in, dont bother with second hand pumps they disintegrate inside after a while. My e39 did this and i think the new pump from bmw wasnt too expensive.
  9. I would love to see a track day e38, full cage , stripped interior, v8 with a 5 speed manual and lsd, but not sure if i would want to own it!
  10. Mine eats front thrust arm bushes, last time i put whiteline (?) urethane ones in and they made a big difference, and seem to be lasting well. Have you done rear subframe bushes yet?
  11. NZ new spec... 1 owner in Japan.... You cant have it both ways buddy.
  12. Yes i do, but they are only dead sometimes!
  13. I think i can safely say the 540 is run-in now
  14. Didnt bmw make a hydrogen powered version of the e38 when they were new? If you were that worried about petrol prices wouldnt you get a 728 instead.
  15. My 318is has been brilliant, i have just done the timing chain tensioner, no major, and it is a great little drivers car. They are going for next to nothing at the moment too.
  16. Stick with the e30, no safety bits but a good solid car and i bet everyone on here drives a little bit more carefully when they are in a car without abs, dsc, srs, etc. Otherwise i can recommend an e34, see profile pic!!
  17. I have a 3/4 drive socket set and a bit of scaffold pipe you can borrow...
  18. How to make your trade me listing look like a scam in 10 easy steps...
  19. Its an e36 320i, i tried caring what happens to it but i just can't.
  20. I suggest getting your insurance company involved, they will be much more helpfull if they know they arent getting paid until they sort it out.
  21. How do you know that your reverse bing bong is louder than the engine at full revs?
  22. I would stick with k&n, i have them in both my cars and the cleaning kits are readily available, also i believe they still have a million mile warranty in the u.s. so they must be pretty reliable. A cold air box is a must with a pod filter, also make sure the plumbing is up to scratch, nothing like trying to suck air through a collapsed plastic tube!
  23. Powder coated the x brace for the e36, went with red, because i can.
  24. By the time you buy bearings and do the work to make them fit $300 might seem pretty reasonable! You could take the opportunity to go to rose joints but it wont save you any money.
  25. You should be able to get graphite grease from a model shop, it is used in r.c. cars for the plastic gears. For the hood lining, something like ados f2 should work.
