  1. Regardless of the asking price if you are selling a car of that age, people want to see what sort of condition its in, and if you dont put up decent photos most will assume the worst and not bother to follow it up. A photo of an old photo of a car is pretty much a waste of time on a trade me auction. My 2 cents.
  2. Sweet, pm me your details and ill transfer some money.
  3. Im keen on the powders and sand, what would shipping to Akl be? Cheers.
  4. More economical! So it actually makes diesel now?
  5. I know where there is a 540 wagon if you want an m5 touring project!!
  6. Ordered just over 2k worth of flywheel and clutch kit for the e39, will be nice for the new owner!!
  7. Ah, i see hes had the altenator socks rebuilt, thats good.
  8. That would be epic, right up until i scythed my own foot off!
  9. Why not just weld up the nut that is already on there?
  10. ...4 stroke line trimmer, best thing ever! Pi$$es all over any other line trimmer ive owned, more powerful, easier to start, quieter, no smoke, and added bonus, it sounds like a tiny motorbike! (A good one, not a p.o.s. harley) Highly recommended.
  11. Yes, dm flywheels are a wear item and need replacing regularly, and a second hand clutch would be a waste of time, both are available new.
  12. You're on the money price wise for the conversion, worth doing if you are keeping the car for a bit, pretty sure ths engine can stay in for the conversion, make sure whoever does it is up to speed with the coding or you will have issues. Good luck.
  13. 14, i am embarrased that i knew some of those
  14. Assuming the level is ok is a bit naive, these boxes are quite sensitive to oil level, needs to be bang on, i wouldn't rely on the fact that it was done a little while back . Also, do these boxes have an oil cooler? blocked oil coolers are a common issue with the v8 boxes, has yours been cleaned?(if it has one)
  15. I think speedy thingys is the technical name.Obviously not a boy racers car , but im not sure if those looks hes getting are envious or incredulous...
  16. I did mine with araldite epoxy and they have lasted a couple of years so far. You need to scuff it with some 80 grit sandpaper, put heaps of glue on and leave it a week before you put them back in, but it works, i can't remember but i might have even put some fibreglass in there for good luck! It just means you have to drive around with no door cards for a while so dont park anywhere dodgy!
  17. http://www.trademe.co.nz/building-renovation/tools/power-tools/cutters-shears-nibblers/auction-939211031.htm Or go to briscoes and get the cheapest electric knife they have, i got ont to cut some foam to re shape a seat and it worked mint!
  18. I replaced the factory radio in my e39 with a 1 din sony bluetooth/cd/ipod headunit, obviously the placement isnt the same, but i found on TM an adaptor that conne ted to the steering wheel button input wire and controls the headunit. You have to make sure you get a headunit that has the plug for a wired remote/ steering wheel control on the back, but mine set itself up once it was installed and it works perfectly. The bonus with going this way is you can use the GPS on your phone and get the directions through the stereo as well. Good luck.
  19. I think you might have more luck if you slap some BMW badges on it Martin!

Finally found a suitable replacement for the e39 540 wagon!
  22. We send quite a bit of stuff to Chch using PBT, usually goes overnight, as above chucking it on a pallet will help, cost will be based on cubic meters so pack it as small as possible.
