  1. Wayne Scott Panel. I've nothing but praise for their work, attitude and speed. 67 Portage Rd, New Lynn 826 3316 Ask for Wayne tell him bishops recommended you. Hope I'm not too late to the party. Also I hope you're not with AA insurance, f**k AA INSURANCE.
  2. If you buy the timing chain etc from all euro parts you can hire the tools at the same time. Usually a 3 day period of loan.
  3. Have some gear up here in AKL. Wouldn't be hard to weld up a tool though? Smash the ceramic out of a spark plug and weld a tube and hose fitting on.
  4. I have a family member looking at buying an e46 m3. Having only a small amount of experience with this model I want to know the inherent issues, common faults, things to look for and avoid. If anyone could share their findings either from ownership or preferably a BMW tech I'd be very grateful.
  5. I'd go get it done by the people i suggested, after they've done it correctly go back to the original place with the readout they provide and get your money back. There's no place for cowboys in this industry.
  6. Head to Bridgestone out the back and under John Andrew Ford in Newton ask for Blake or Liam and say Bishops sent you. They have a road force balance machine and know how to use it... I find it very unlikely that your tyres are not balancable.
  7. Will get you some prices tomorrow and flick you a text, have access to cheap Conti and Michelin tyres.
  8. What tyre size are you after? I can price you some Michelin PS3's at 20% off retail if you want some proper rubber, none of the other rubbish compares. Freight is no biggie, usually 20 a tyre north island, or could get Hans to take em down for you. Flick me a PM if you're interested.
  9. this the silver one breytons from trademe?
  10. If anyone ever needs a competent panel shop look up Wayne Scott Panel in New Lynn. I am beyond impressed with their attitude, work ethic and results.
  11. Good on the owner for agreeing to take it back. Make sure you provide them with copies of the problems you have with the finished product so everyone involved is very clear of what is needed to be done to remedy it, maybe leave a copy in the car and give one to the boss. I speak from experience that when clear instructions aren't given or problems not properly recorded it makes solving issues very difficult for a tech who never spoke to the customer.
  12. f**k that's shocking. Insurance policy usually have a lifetime repair guarantee, it has to be up to scratch by contract. My first port of call would be to talk to owner face to face and show him the shoddy work. Give him a chance to make it right. Failing co-operation I would be notifying my insurance provider and have their independent assessor view how sh*t their work is, ie prevent payment till done properly or elsewhere. That's a crock of sh*t Glenn, if you're not going to do the job well don't do it at all. Having met Mike a couple of times and knowing his work ethic i can say with certainty that he didn't request a half ass job. When accepting a request of work to be done it is expected that the job will be done, not half done, as his car is... If the final repair isn't up to standards take em to small claims.
  13. All i know whatever you do avoid AA insurance. Scummiest company I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with.
  14. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/citroen/auction-930806192.htm This car is a find, been trying to convince my old man to get it. Once you drive one of these you'll never go back. If you were considering a peugeot 407/308 then this car trumps it all day with the ride quality. They are monsters in disguise. Torque for days 440nm!!!! and very reliable. The DT 17 engine is used in by Ford, Landrover, Peugoet, Citroen. Get it into my work and we'll do a ppi on it, recommend a whole bunch of work, and you can get her even cheaper cool bananas.
  15. Stay away from Exedy, in my personal experience I have had nothing but problems with their products. I used Auto clutch, they're a bunch of top guys and reasonably priced too. They built me a carbon kevlar plate and dual diaphragm housing. Haven't had any issues and I last dynoed at 340nm atw. Still has a reasonably smooth feel, but towards the on/off side of things...
  16. Cheapest by far... Hans is the man!
  17. Outwest Tints mate. Competitive pricing and super quick turnaround.
  18. Bought a genuine 2.8/3.0 z3 shifter from turner motorsport this week. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-52828-25117527253-genuine-bmw-part.aspx You can go to an even shorter throw with the mcoupe shifter but i didn't want to go that far/not that far.... Ship to a US youshop acc and it'l cost $165 NZD landed at your door.
  19. I picked an e32 one up ages ago can't remember who it was from either Brent or Martyn. Im sure one of them will have one otherwise try autostop, or sterling brake n clutch, in my exp bnt are a little pricey.
  20. The original handbook states its the brake fluid replacement light. Will try resetting again 2 x
  21. I had a quick squizz on the search but couldn't find anything, please link if you know of a thread regarding this. The wagon got a birthday today, no worries except couldn't for the life of me get the brake fluid light out. Anyone had any experience clearing this? Research has said that its just a case of resetting the inspection a couple of times but i didn't have any luck and cbfd messing about. For those of you who don't know what it looks like ive attached a photo:
