    The Silver Titan

needs europlates being a nz new (wider plate space on the bootlid and front bumper)
  3. ha ha very funny, but the argument still stands. The people who are in #1 will take their car to a tyre shop and get anything fitted at the shop's recommendation and price. #2 will shop around and #3 will look for the best performance/price and make an informed decision. if you listed your tyres on trademe with that kind of description then you can be sure that no one from #2 and #3 will be clicking buy now. but if you wait long enough you might hook someone from #1 and make a sale - which is what the OP is basically about at the end of the day - preying on ignorance.
  4. depends on the brand? u can buy new low budget brands for less than 1000 from a shop fitted, but if its michelin ps4s then it would be too cheap!
  5. Totally understand your viewpoint, but this is the nature of the beast (of the market which is automotive spares). The average consumer can be roughly divided to 3 categories: #1 - dont know anything, takes it to a shop for repairs and pays the bill #2 - has some knowledge, does a bit of research and makes a judgement call (based on a lack of evidence) #3 - expert knowledge and finds the best product at the best prices and usually DIY's or commissions someone else to fit. the trademe market caters to category #2, we fall into #3. Also, I would most likely say that the vendor would be selling something lesser than OEM because if it is OEM, it is usually worth mentioning and demanding a higher price. OR it could just be marked up to OEM prices but be absolute trash made in a dump but as you say, we will never know and that is fine with me. I will just buy from a reputable store like FCP and the like and know what Im getting because I am part of the #3 gang.
  6. to be fair, most of these types of resellers will obviously not disclose the actual brand of the products they are selling because you can then go find it from ebay for less or exploit their supplier/source. I dont have a problem with this practice because at the end of the day, you have a choice to go for cheaper brand at a locally marked up price, or go for an OEM from overseas, or go for genuine. it is all up to you. given that this kind of industry is a price/margin driven business model.. it is inevitable basically.

What i normally do with a smaller boot car is put two wheels in the back seat lying flat, one on top and one in the boot. @Olaf it wouldnt be a problem one way or another. Just make sure to carry some tarp/blanket to save the seats. btw, i dont really have a collection of wheels anymore like i used to. Haha. These particular ones are currently on our compact but i have a spare set of 18s i can chuck on it

I have a set for sale if you are interested. Staggered fitment. Slightly shadow grey instead of normal silver. Comes with good tyres.
  9. BMW 662M Wheels Off the newer G30 5 series (5x112 bolt pattern) Front Wheels: 8Jx18 ET30 (p/n 36118093405)Rear Wheels: 9Jx18 ET44 (p/n 36118093406) I doubt there will be much value to resell them at this stage because the new 5x112 PCD prevents it being used in the older 5x120 PCD bmws. Hope that helps - thewheelgod (@zero haha)
  10. form attached. you normally get it by emailing the staff at licensys. Statutory declaration.pdf
  11. We cry about it now but it’s only going upwards
  12. They never made this design except for the e46 m3 in 18” staggered. Cant be hard to fake a stamp I suppose
  13. if u search on carjam is it currently registered to a car? if not, and it has been replaced by a govt issue or other p plate, then you should be able to get it remade then you can sell it on or whatever.
  14. There is a statutory declaration form which you need to get signed off by a JOP then the plates will be entitled to your name. You need to send this to licensys. Not vtnz, nzta, or kiwiplates. You can do this if you own the car the plates are on and it has been over 30 days. after that you can just go to a VTNZ and go fill out a form for replacement plates to standard govt issue in order to sell your car. $25~ then you do another of the same form when you want to replace the plates on your new car with the personalised plates. $5~ you don’t need to do the stat declaration and still move the plates around your cars but you can’t get it remade unless it’s in your name.

  19. Just wondering if anyone is looking for a great modern daily driver that is reliable, economical and surprising powerful for a little 1.6 turbo 4 cylinder. It is the sport edition (not msport) in alpine white. it has the widescreen display and more controls on the idrive knob, also has the bigger wider dashboard screen, keyless entry and stop start, Bluetooth calling and music. Cold air conditioning, new oil and filter not long ago, the car is in excellent mechanical and physical condition with no faults. The roof and rear diffuser has been vinyl wrapped black and the steering wheel has a suede wrap on it so it’s a bit nicer to hold and a bit thicker like the msport one. $12,000 on trademe now if any questions contact me via PM car is in auckland wof till april 2020 rego till sept 2020 bmw plates not included
