Ill admit, the latest dual clutches I've driven have been about 10 year old DSG and yes, it was great when you were banging through gears when hammering on it, but everything else was full of compromises. Using it as a daily in heavy traffic sucked. Autos are just so much better for everything else, and thats coming from someone that hates autos with a passion....
-
There is no need for dual clutch when modern autos have gotten that good now. More reliable, easier to live with, and cheaper to maintain. Even the old ZF 6HP in the 335i was really good when reflashed. Its all down to programming now. Tardme does have three options. Auto, Manual and Tiptronic. Problem is 90% of people are letting the rego auto-populate fill the fields, and its causing all sorts of mess. Heaps of autos being listed as manuals because of this.

Do you use a forklift to get it onto the stands?
-
Pretty much, dealers hate imports regardless.
-
its not just the ratcheting mech thats failing in the US, its the welds on the base too.
-
Thats a bit different to an appliance like an i3 though. Of course if you built something you loved you'd keep a decent sized extinguisher in it, but any other appliance isnt worth risking your life trying to save it. Just have it insured and keep your distance.
-
Would you rather it was listed as a Manual? 😂 *pulls on fire suit*
-
Not worth it tbh, just get everyone away safe. Its only a car, and unless you carry around a 10kg extinguisher or something, it aint gonna make a lick of difference if you have a 1kg at arms reach. Race cars are a bit different.

I really want a pair of the OG screw style stands my friend has. Weigh a ton, are a pain to level anything on (since they have a fairly fine thread) but are almost impossible to go wrong. They're the same as these I have two pairs of old ratcheting ones instead. They have never been a problem, but they're about 10 years old now so probably before the bits fell off the tooling dies. I do feel safer using my Quickjack though.
-
I quite like the two tone dash. Good to see at 50k you still get a sagging glove box lid 🤣 For that price I would expect about half as many Ks, and for the front bumper to have been resprayed so it isnt covered in stone chips. Its nice, but its not THAT nice, especially with SMG1.

If anything, knowing how badly most kiwis look after their cars, NZ new is a liability. The only difference is you MAY get the paperwork for 200,00km of basic oil changes (if the seller didn't "lose it in a move"). It also doesn't help we tend to get real poverty spec options here, as shown by this 130i.

Hardly a reason to not a buy a certain model of car too. Can almost search "[insert model here] car fire" and get reports of any car burning to the ground. Certainly don't search "tesla car fire"...

BuT Ev BaTtErIeS ExPlODE!

The blacked out sills kinda make the car look unbalanced and the front spoiler like a big snow plow. Its about the only thing wrong with how the car currently looks.

I had a ZHP knob in my E36 and it was a bloody nice knob to handle. Good weight, shape and feel. A+ want one for every car.

Other than the smoothness values being uneven, the only thing that stands out is that the "needed air i.s controller" is maxed out. Thats the idle control valve, so im guessing its wide open at idle just to keep it running. Does that value fluctuate? Do these have a manual base idle adjustment on the throttle? Have you tried disconnecting the MAF and seeing how it runs?
-
I searched "Petrol" and got both.... its not a conspiracy.

Im not surprised, they tried to lowball the heck out of me when I was selling my TVR. They always have huge markups. They have also been known to try and pass things off on unsuspecting buyers, like the difference between Miles and KM on an odometer.
-
You wouldnt go the whole hog and just M54B30 it? If you're going to all that effort i'd go for the biggest improvement you can

In contrast the MSDS MSDS_970462 makes it clear there are two products in the NZ market that are ethanol blend, E10 SUPREME+/E10 SYNERGY 8000 and E3 EXTRA UNLEADED/E3 SYNERGY 1000. Seems that if there isnt an E# in the name, its not a blend.

Thats really bad advice. Not only should the car fail a WOF, and could be stickered by the Police, but your insurance will be void. The process isnt too hard, especially if its all bolt in OEM gear. You'd need to check with a certifier if you need a driveshaft hoop or no, otherwise make sure the rest of the car is up to scratch too (good brakes, since it will have to undergo a brake fade test).

I was recently told this too, although i have heard of people having rough running issues with Mobil 98 and no issues when going back to BP 98. NFI what the difference is there. BP is the only high octane I trust in my cars.
-
Jesus, I was kidding about being in the stone age 😮
-
Why not download the BP app, link your card to it and use that to pay? Stop living in the stone age 🤣
