ARGH people that screw euro plates straight into the bumper cover instead of using a plinth or plate frame.

It's got a damn good spec on it. Individual paint and interior too. Shame the paint is a bit rough, but should tidy up ok. I sure as hell wouldnt pay anywhere near that for it; its probably worth about half the buy now. Pretty limited market.

Who said I get excited over my frugal daily driver?

Never understood "skids". Just something drongos do in their falcodores to look cool to their equally low IQ mates.

Anyone in the wellington region got any green CH11S hydraulic fluid spare they will sell cheap? Only need a top up so don't want to buy a $40 500ml bottle for 100ml. Don't care if genuine or another brand as long as it's compatible.

Havent missed BMW life. Everything is so expensive, and things keep falling off. Lost a center cap badge at some point today. Thought replacing the front and rear badges would be cheap (since someone put shitty carbon ones on it) but no, front one is cheap, boot one is a minimum of $50 from overseas. sh*t its a nice car to drive though. Just eats up the miles. Swapped the wider wheels/tyres back to the rear where they should be. Car suddenly drives better now with more grip and less traction control fighting. Cant believe the previous owner didnt notice. Oh, also coded the JDM radio to NZ frequencies. First time using NCSExpert, Easier than expected.
-
Easier to sell, hopefully. Strategic move really. In the mean time its actually quite nice to drive. Just got to work out how to code some stuff on it (like the radio frequency).

Only the best black circles here.

Traded my seemingly unsellable TVR for a whale.

Excellent. I apologise @PartsFriend, it seems my scepticism was misguided. I'm glad it worked out well. @Cammsport how was it priced compared to the usual outfits (FCP, ECS etc)?
-
@Cammsport did you end up using @PartsFriend in the end? Keen to know how it worked out

They're great looking cars, and the v6 ones sound awesome. Alfa really nailed it with those.

I don't think @FIAT 131R bought the car in the listing...? Its not too much to ask for a dealer with a hoist to post photos of the rust they know of, but I also understand why they would want to distance themselves from any liability. It seems like the dealer wants their cake and wine served up on a plate too; they want the most money they can from it, for the least work and liability possible.
-
Yeah im real good with MIQ being even more restrictive. Its the only thing between the rest of the diseased world and our little country. It should be hard/expensive for anyone voluntarily leaving NZ during the pandemic to return to NZ again (with certain exceptions, funerals overseas etc).
-
I guess their thoughts are that the moment they show any rust, any more that is found by the buyer could come back to them as "you didnt disclose it was rusty here!!!". Best to let potential buyers find it themselves in an inspection. TBH though a dealer would be better off palming something like this off to turners and not dealing with the hassle.
-
Wow, really trying to get out of any liability

I remember a couple of years back there was a cheap Oxford Green with Mtex M3 on TM. Such a great combo, what a shitty thing to ruin.

So, what do we think team, a week before it suffers another issue? 😂 Now that its currently working, is it time to flick it off and pretend it never happened, or keep it as the devil you know?
-
Yeah that reads exactly like @NZ_InFernos fault. I'd be looking at replacing the valvetronic motor and sensor. The motor is the easy one to do, so i'd start with that, but oil in the sensor isnt a good sign.
-
Dont put any additives in it. Its fine as it is, and a lot more advanced than an old 4Gxx engine.
-
That sounds 100% normal to me. Most of the noise is the injectors in that video.
-
Oh yeah, another thing to keep an eye on; Mine made a real loud ticking at idle at one point, turned out the fuel cap wasnt 3 clicks tight and the fuel tank breather valve in the engine bay was ticking like mad. Maybe see if you cap seal is perished.

Kiwis car mentality is f**ked when 125k is "getting up there". I suppose it could be near death with how sh*t kiwis in general are at looking after cars though. Check out Uk and Us forums to see what "getting up there" is.

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
KwS replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
Imported 20 years ago though. Be interesting to know what the flag was, but its probably been fixed since. -
The e46 is a better car in almost all regards, so good call keeping it.
