Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
KwS replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
Its not a "war", its just TM autobid doing its thing. Obviously they set and forget at the price they want to pay. -
Was thinking the same tbh.

Need to sell my 650i. Got it as a trade, needed a couple of things to tidy it up, done that and now it needs a new owner. Runs and drives great, no signs of the usual N62 smoking. Trans is lovely and smooth. Need it gone to make it rain on my other project. $15k ONO Number plate: JCC90 Year: 2007 Kilometres: 123,500km Exterior colour: Mineral Silver Doors: 2 door Body style: Sedan Seats: 4 Fuel type: Petrol Cylinders: 8 cylinder Engine size: 4790cc Transmission: Automatic Import history: Imported Registration expires: Aug 2021 WoF expires: Feb 2022 Fuel economy stars: 2.5 out of 6 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3021254939

This dude speaks the truth. Unless you get a real minter auto that has all the exact spec you want otherwise, its just not that worth it. There are things you forget when converting to manual, like tuning the ECU to kill the rev hang, or swapping the diff so you dont end up revving the nuts off it at 100kph. Not to mention all the consumables, bushes, etc.

The Fit is the only car I have consistently owned for the past 8 years. You can joke as much as you want, but its reliability is unmatched, and i've done almost 100,000km in it (and its done almost 200,000km). I also currently own a 650i, a modified Corolla and a Morris Marina Coupe. I just change cars so often I dont update my "cars" on here.

Reminds me of years ago I sold the last in a line of fast Subarus I had owned, and was shopping for an S13. Test drove one, went to change lanes on a dual carriageway, put my foot down and suddenly i was opposite lock sideways across both lanes, looking out the side window at traffic following me. I was so used to the AWD system gripping, and little turbo lag that I wasnt ready for when the massive turbo lag caused the boost to come on in one huge hit and got snap oversteer. Thankfully straightened it up easy enough, but the owner, who was sitting next to me at the time was all like "sh*t yeah its awesome aye?!" and im there trying not to paint the seat brown.

*i know its an i20, but Hyundai has done some impressive things with its N lineup. Also, But lets not forget Its no real surprise that the N team is led by the former BMW M boss.
-
That thing is about as far away from an M3 as you can get, in looks and performance. Its one of few BMWs that is uglier than the new ones.
-
Thats probably the downfall then. The proportions of the rear of the M4 is terrible, the GTR and Stang are much better. I've never seen massive wheels like the M4 has swallowed by the rear guard and made to look like they are smaller than the front wheels.

Mustang did it better

My N54 had a huge amount of work done before I got it, so no, i wouldn't consider them reliable. It had the turbos, injectors, coils, HPFP, LPFP all replaced.

Mine didnt have a towbar and tbh it would've been the worst car to tow anything heavy with. Very thirsty, and the power came on with a huge whack. It would tow, but it'd be on boost all the time and traction would be an issue. I'd go with a diesel for towing. I feel that even a 330i would be better for towing just due to not having boost and having a nice linear power/torque curve.

Wow, yeah if they havent bought the moulds, thats some hard core copying!

Cleaned the whale inside and out to get it ready for sale. Removed the fake M badge from the back and replaced the front roundel. Pity the rear hasnt arrived yet. Im SUPER impressed with Carpro Ech2o as a waterless wash. I cleaned the car yesterday normally, because its was covered in bird poo and bug splatters, and then today went over it with Ech2o and damn it shines well considering its not waxed. I used to wash the TVR with it because TVRs are hygroscopic and was impressed, but the BMW paint really pops.

Yup, you will need to use DIS and ADS to connect via the 20 pin. I think @M3AN has the setup for it?
-
You can try as much as you want to convince people otherwise, but thats sh*t is f**k ugly and not even its mother could love it. I'd hate to be a salesman trying to sell that garbage.
-
I just hate that its so many lines and sharp angles. The grilles just the fly on top of the sh*t pile. In comparison the previous model looks so sleek and well designed.
-
That'll be the LSB I spotted the other day then (albeit I cant remember where haha). It sure stands out.
-
Your opinion is moot, [ FUNWON ] 🤣 Agreed though, a little lower with a black plate frame but not the plate plinth that the silver car above has.
-
Not sure I understand the point of plates that say what the car is, but euro plates do look good on it (i know it had euros before).
-
So Dave, do tell, how do you know?

Rockauto is the sh*t for having cheaper options too. FCP does most mainstream options but if you want some obscure brand at 1/4 the price and dont care about longevity, thats where rockauto comes into its own. Ive bought heaps from them for various cars and never had an issue (although its a bit weird the KYBs for my Corolla were made in USA not Japan, didn't know that was a thing, but hey)

Spotted a modern one a while back. Not the best looking car, that's for damn sure.
