  1. In manual though? Most E9x manuals ive seen are real low spec stuff or diesels. The E46 does look nice, but for that price i'd expect @Sammo nice, and its not.
  2. Yeah, just gotta be cheap, thats all insurers care about.

    Quick rant thread.

In years gone by they were done properly and rolled by a bloody roller and swept up instead of forcing traffic to roll it. I still cant believe how sh*t we are at making roads, its not like its a new process. Drove the Kapiti Expressway the other day and god damn that road surface feels like its about 10 years old, not 3. I dont hold high hopes for Transmission Gully staying together long.

    E46 330ci Manual

My E36 shaft had it on the rear section just before the diff, so i guess it could be either end

    E46 330ci Manual

Time to strip off the heat shields and see what part number is on the shaft?

    6 speed e39 540

Is this of the age where it needs an ADS and GT1 connection like the E36?
  7. Thats one of the problems with dealers that sit on stock for ages instead of pricing it for quick turnover; it all just starts to age badly and get/look neglected. There are a couple of dealers down here that sit on their stock for ages and the cars suffer in the sun.

    E61 Wagon Project

Not DCT, but has Sport Automatic Transmission option. Still a 6HP19. https://5series.net/forums/e60-discussion-2/rudys-full-review-2008-550i-sport-automatic-42608/
  9. That thing has some nice options ticked. Those seats and steering wheel are boss.
  10. The alarming regularity bits fall off them, inside and out? 😂 Every time I think nah, im over E36s, one like this comes up for sale and I pine for another E36.

    1991 E31 850i

Holy heck, I didnt know you even still had it! Congrats on the sale, its a gorgeous car indeed.
  12. A super tidy manual 325/8i in an interesting colour has always been worth about that. Stunning car

    KIWI1M

I thought mods/admins could see deleted threads and posts?
  14. I'd get a good indi to do it, rather than a dealer, and certainly not AA or the likes. I had one of the dealers up there PPI my R53 before i bought it, and it was a joke, I think AA would've done better and they are known to be rubbish. Dealers dont really care about "older" cars.

    E87 120d oil?

Whats the rego/vin? Pretty easy to confirm.
  17. Im thinking more the guard/bumper gap, which on most 1 series is big, but you could almost fit a foot in the gap on this one.
  18. The panel gaps around the front bumper look on the piss, so be worth checking for damage in the front.

    E87 120d oil?

According to RealOEM you should have option 200 if you have a DPF. That car does not have option 200, so shouldnt have a DPF. RealOEM also indicates that the DPF equipped cars have a different rear muffler, but both still point down. There is another option if the car has a DPF and M Aero package together.

    640i upgrade

There will be a point where adding HP is pointless. Can the rest of the car handle 500+hp, and where are you even going to use that much power, a beached whale is hardly a track focused car.
  21. Oh sh*t, @Olaf will be in here to give you a stern talking to about them cats ? How does it sound now, more raspy?
  22. To be fair there isnt a lot with an automated clutch that enjoys reversing up a hill. I know my Golf GTI with DSG wasnt a fan.
  23. Only under certain conditions/ages ranges, which only really covers pretty modern stuff. All the old stuff with cats that have been cut out are fine by the VIRM. I've seen cars failed at workshops i've been involved with for excessive smoking, only for them to suddenly have a new WOF a few days later, presumably by taking it somewhere else that didnt care as much. Its too subjective and based on the inspector at the time. At least with emission testing its a hard and fast number. Meet it or fail. Of course there are ways to "trick" emissions testing or clean the emission up temporarily, there are whole industries overseas for additives and tricks to help get through MOT and the likes. Nothing is perfect. Still, at the end of the day, even emission testing wont help. The people that have the dirtiest running cars are likely the ones that cant afford to fix it if the WOF fails (or dont care enough to get a WOF), so will just drive sans WOF. A couple of fines are probably cheaper than a new cat or an engine rebuild to clean it up. Its the "Kiwi" way, bodge it along until you can bodge no more, and then dump it in a paddock and replace it with an equally dirty running shitheap. Rinse and repeat. Dont get me started on dealers selling imports with snow tires ?
