  1. genuine second hand are $120 each yep. these are a reproduction so won't be as good most likely but interested to see the difference....
  2. I still have your old one Ingrid, has helped a number of others stay on the road now and tidy up some others etc!
  3. looks neat, i prefer with the E36 bumpers to remove all of that under tray crap so its 4 easy bolts on the front of the bumper and the whole bumper comes off. looks like you have solved that problem!
  4. bump up! also now have a 328i sedan in black as well, 125,000kms, some motorsport options, very tidy except for usual door card sag. very nice half leather half cloth non-electric motorsport seats. minor rear impact bumper is okay, motorsport body kit, front centre trim will need replacing has tow bar hole in it. motorsport side trims. would post picture but appear photo bucket is down (the site i use) also my signature not working. will try again at some stage. ***Free Freight on big stuff to Auckland/Hamilton and many other places this Anzac Weekend** **Free freight on small stuff all the time, nz wide
  5. more than a few weeks, but no that was a 328i manual, i actually enjoyed driving it too, more than i can say for any other E46 i have driven. hers just had flywheel issues, not sure where it got to before it was sold and if the problem was remedied. anyway, not relevant to this thread.
  6. how the hell did i miss this thread???? god dam.
  7. the 2.8L M52 ones make ideal donors for E36 compact race car builds. thats all that maters.
  8. 12 hours on BMWs today, very therapeutic Found the issue with my newest little E30 overheating, well not too bad, but would sit just over half way, and if switched off it would be up around 3/4s. Found thermostat to not be working correctly, so will order a new one, but for the mean time have just gutted the thermostat, now runs nice and cold all the time 1/4 or so. then got a lot of wrecking done on some cars here, some orders, some just finishing up cars. and then started getting the compact ready for its second track day, brand new control arms fitted (piece of mind, the ones on there were perfectly fine) and poly control arm mounts, still have the tie rods and M3 brakes to fit yet. Also deleted the ASC throttle body on the M52 in it so just nice straight 90 degree bend into the throttle now with no restrictive plate, not sure how much of a gain if any, but can only be a good thing removing it. contemplated bypassing the coolant hoses going into the throttle body, but time is too tight to source a new hose if i damage it on removal, so will do that after the track day for next time. also won't have enough time to get the M50 manifold on either, so will be a bit of power to pick up before its third track day now sitting in the shed with a well deserved bourbon or two!
  9. i think i have one of those CD43s lying about..........
  10. i have a modern clarion n mine, can't remember model number but i know i have posted the model number a few times here, just use search feature. can program it to say stuff, and there is a blue tooth adaptor you can buy for it. but best of all it all looks 80s tho does have a cd slot.
  11. next in line please, if it falls through let me know. 0273079322. Cheers.

  14. A mate had the same car but badged as a Chev something, is there a more terrible car in existence i think not.
  15. Will take the Jamex springs. I can pick up not this weekend coming but the one after. Happy to pay in advance. send me a PM with your details
  16. i have a 3.4 medium, done just 125,000km, currently in a 328i
  17. did you rebuild the callipers too Rob?
  18. They aren't OEM, Not too bad for the price but id personally rather spend a bit more and get Bosch. Why are you replacing the coils? they aren't generally regarded a wear item, and unlike in older cars with just one, there are 6 so if one fails you will never be stranded.
  19. make sure the plates match the VIN before you order keys, in case the car has been plated and tagged. keys are not cheap and not refundable if they don't work. Bear in mind its also possibly got a flat battery so remote may not work will have to use key hole
  20. so got up early today and got in there to have a look, the o ring is pinched between the oil separator and the hose that leads to the balance bar over the intake. also i believe the hose that goes from the rocker cover to the separator is upside down. Looks like the guy i paid to swap the intake manifold over won't be getting any more work from me. Pisses me off when professionals skite they are so much better than back yarders and then do this sort of crap. Also there is a lot of oil in the intake side of the separator valve. not sure if that is normal or perhaps this valve is dead on arrival?
  21. arguably more than twice.
  22. yeah but dealing through clumsy in car computers such as gen 1 iDrive is perfectly legal lol
  23. The hardest part about home ownership is the saving of the initial deposit, having to pay rent AND save for it is very hard. once you are in, it is cheaper than renting if you put it over 30 years, or better is to put it over 10 years and pay down same amount you were paying in rent and saving. We all know the baby boomers had it good. thats the past, can't go back there. so anything relating to that is moot. However what is still relevant: its very easy to whinge and complain about why one can't get something. These people won't buy their first home until they are in their 40s, then put it over 30 years and still be paying a mortgage on the pension. Not my idea of a life. My opinion is the best time to save for a house deposit is when you finish high school, still live at home (no or little rent to pay) and work full time. Unfortunately, currently the education system is setup that Uni is the only way forward after leaving school. this sets people up for failure, and you know that yourself, everyone has read the most successful people in monetary terms never went to uni. sure, you can go to uni and come out the other side with a 6 figure job, reality is in most industries you don't get those jobs until you are in your 30s at least (see buying a home at 40 above) Do you really need that flash car, the sky TV connection and the holiday to the islands every year? Nice things to have, but being mortgage free in your mid 30s is much better.
