  1. if you are looking at buying the M50 one for $800 on trade, give me a call first, I used to own it.
  2. i really like that, just find the front a little bit awkward, same as all the Z cars really.
  3. and id be interested in the clutch kit and maybe front pads and rotors if 328 spec. i assume youd rather sell together tho huh
  4. unless the law has recently changed (in which case all manual swaps already completed it won't effect) then there is no need for a certification providing it uses all genuine BMW parts in an un modified way, and using the gearbox that would ordinarily be fitted to that engine e.g. a getrag box on an e36 328i would need cert as its not the correct ZF box. however, there also the benefit of being such a multitude of cars on our road a WOF inspector or worst case a serious crash unit investigator is likely to never notice as well
  5. i guess its like every time you start a new job you are a bit weird around your new work mates but you click sooner or later
  6. SOLD as per other thread. Will keep unlocked, welcome to bimmersport. How many more deals you got for me?
  7. man i love impulse buys. thats all folks!
  8. yes bolts up no problem at all. make sure you research compatibility between gearbox flywheel/clutch setup and the starter motor
  9. Tech2 lower front and back but retain standard bumpers is a look I like
  10. What about a custom made muffler there must be someone about that builds them! For a price
  11. Hi Guys will be fitting a compact rear end into my E30, just wanting to know which bushes to use where subframe bolts to the body of the car, do I use E30 or E36ti bushings here? Cheers Andy
  12. the front rear and boot spoiler will be same between coupe and cabby, the door pods are probably cross compatible but the side skirts definitely won't be as the cabby sides are considerably larger. Possibly can be made to fit if you are happy to cut them, maybe make some finer glass copies and mod those.
  13. E46 M3 are pretty cheap at the moment and i wouldnt pick they will go much lower if at all, so now would be the time to buy, also before they all have parts replaced with taiwan crap that will break again. find one thats been maintained with OEM parts and you will be away.
  14. going to be very hard to diagnose on the internet because your engine is not a normal M52 it is someones hack mash up of parts. did the engine run in the last body?
  15. measure the diameter of the core of your radiator and ill see what i have, i have loads of radiators here will find something that works.
  16. offset and what will and will not work depends mostly on the width of the wheel in combination with the offset, you cannot look at offset on its own. for example et35 on a 6" wheel (i.e. more or less the stock dimensions) will have 110mm between the mount face and the back of the wheel, and 40mm between the mount face and the front lip take the same off set et35 on a 8" wheel, and it will have 135mm between mount face and the back of the wheel and 65mm between the mount face and the front of the wheel. remember that a guard can be modified, as can the water shields inside the wheel well to fit more outside width into the car (may also need steering rack limiters). however the strut and hub face does not move. generally as the width of the wheel goes up, the offset must go down. find a good visual calcutlor on the internet that has a graphic you can punch in the OE rim size and a tyre size, and then lay your intended size over the top and see how it matches up. in there rear there is much more room to play with. 17x8.5 et13 AC Schnitzer Type 2s are known to fit, you could get away with wider still if you did some guard work.
  17. if this is for your coupe in your side bar thing there then it won't fit
  18. 328i and the 3.0L M3 are the same underneath from what i know, and E36 M3 are the cheapest they have ever been and probably at the bottom they will ever be, so now would be the time to get the keys to an S50 as well. so if you have a 328 then swap an engine in maybe, but anything else better off to just buy an E36 M3
  19. the torques converter disengages. its a different method to do the same thing, just like an electronic control unit replaces someones leg, right?
  20. i can move the automatic selector and move through all 4 gears in my E30 with complete control as well, it also has no clutch pedal. Can I list it as a manual?
  21. because Simon did all the work
  22. great to see you have joined up Tim, enjoyed looking over the car last weekend!
  23. also check out Mannheim and Turners Auctions not only for more options but to see what various models and options are actually selling for etc. and may don't buy for Te Awamutu again without getting it checked over lol
