  1. You are correct - the other two bumpers are hideous. Great improvement to the looks of the car - just dont crash it as there are no spares
  2. Thats a nice bit of fabrication on that guard. Did the ti not come out with a guard to match the msport bumper etc?
  3. I cant tell you about the rod bearing replacement, but I can tell you about sump removal. Its a bit of a pain as the engine has to be supported and then the whole subframe dropped to remove the pan. After that it will need a wheel alignment, so it makes sense to replace the control arm bushes (common wear item) at the same time. I didn't think rod bearing failure was common on these engines, but someone more knowledgeable will be able to chime in hopefully.
  4. Thats a lot of toe. Camber on its own doesn't wear the tyre unevenly, its camber combined with toe. On my e46 i get no toe up front, and a tiny amount of toe in the rear, and as much camber as possible front and rear with the stock adjustments.

How about a pic of the car too?
  6. Agree to disagree. I've heard of someone buying an e36, and then finding out the chassis was twisted.
  7. You would have to be mad not to get an inspection done.
  8. Thanks Tom. I spent ages dremel polishing and then clear coating the diff cover so I will have to go aftermarket. Any recommendations of brand for a mainly street car?
  9. I'm trying to find stock bushes for the e46 m3 diff, and cant find them anywhere. The front diff bush (33172282484) is easy to find but the back two seem impossible. I can find the entire diff back plate with the bushings pre installed (33112282482) but cant find the individual bushes. Anyone know where to find them, or if a different stock bush will fit?
  10. I use Seal imports in Auckland and they are excellent. Huge range and good prices. I see there is one in Hamilton too, but I'm not sure where you are in BOP. Just lookup the oring size on realoem. http://www.sealimports.co.nz/#/Content/?id=111
  11. Sorry for the dumb question, but what is the benefit of a vanos delete?
  12. For next weekend. Could pick up on Thursday if that works for you, then either drop back or courier back to you?
  13. Wanted to borrow/hire cam locking tools for m52 to do vanos seals on a mates e36. Does anyone have some I can hire for beer/vodka/crack/nuclear weapons?
  14. Nice wagon. e46 wagons really are awesome. Have you thought about installing the msport front bumper - makes a huge improvement in looks imo.
  15. Sedan and touring doors are the same essentially. Coupe doors are definitely different for building door pods.
  16. Overtightened gearbox sub frame bolts. Make sure they are tightened to the correct torque spec, which is not very tight. If they are over tightened you will experience the symptoms you describe.

Can you do a 0-100 video? I would be keen to see how fast it is.
  18. Its nearly always the hedgehog (fsr), but you need to replace with a genuine one as the cheap ones just crap out really quick. Also cause its in a difficult place to access you dont want to be doing it twice.

And the fronts are 36mm thick! Wow thats a lot of steel.
  21. You have to ask yourself it its worth it.
  22. How many kms has the car done?
  23. I got to it from under the car. If you are going to this amount of hassle, replace the chain and chain guides too. However, these engines are notorious for being crap. Here is my marathon thread on doing the valve stem seals, chain and guides; http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/54944-so-this-happened-today/?page=6
