  1. The disa gasket is one of the most common vacuum leak locations too.
  2. I have some 16's I can lend you but they are not 16 x 8.
  3. There is a test you can do with your finger on the disa to see if its working;
  4. Daniel, before you throw money at it check for vacuum leaks. Do a smoke test to find the leak - there are a few common spots on these motors. I made a smoke tester yesterday with an old pot with two holes drilled in the top for some tubing. I just put some incense sticks in the pot and blew the smoke through the engine. Check your disa valve, and also clean the throttle body and icv.
  5. Yuussssss! e46 tourings are the best. What problems were you having?

    Need some advice

    There are many on google. Its not overly difficult, and means you get to check the condition of your handbrake shoes etc. Easiest to replace the entire arm and axle from one from a wrecker, otherwise you end up mucking around with bearings.
  7. Yes oem. You can tell by the painted stripes which is done to identify the correct spring in the assembly process. To be honest, if you have bilsteins, I would be matching them with decent springs like Eibach or H&R.
  8. Should measure from the centre of the wheel to eliminate different wheel sizes and styles.
  9. I hope they are not charging you.

    SUXG4S - E46 M3

    I've done the steering coupler on Babara and it made a world of difference.
  11. Are the swaybars stock or aftermarket? Did you use any aftermarket bushings in your suspension, or is it all rubber?
  12. When you measure the height, you need to measure from the centre of the wheel so as to remove the variable of the tyre.
  13. The 4.4l m62 can have timing chain issues depending on kms and maintenance record. Others in here will be much more knowledgeable than me.
  14. The best person to ask imo would be Kayne Barrie.
  15. Have you tried fcp euro or schmiedmann? I've found them both cheaper - especially schmiedmann because their shipping costs are much lower.
  16. What an epic build. Where are you buying your spare parts from?
  17. PM as in Prime Minister? I'll give it a crack.

    Quick Questions

    Is it a n42 motor? If you give us the last 7 digits of your vin, or your license plate number I can look it up. If it is a n42 they have many well documented problems -some terminal. If an exhaust valve spring is broken then chances are the head is badly damaged. When a valve spring broke on mine the valve fell into the cylinder and you can guess what happened next. If you are fixing the n42 there are several things that should be done at the same time; # valve stem seals: the material bmw used fails and will start giving you problems at this many kms which will require an upper engine rebuild. # timing chain and guides: the plastic guides break and once you jump a tooth or three its bye bye motor. # timing chain tensioner: not strong enough and sometimes causes the chain to jump teeth. And all that aside the pcv system should be done as you will have the head off. As you can see its not cheap, and not worth it. You could buy a second hand motor but it will just have the same problems. If it were me I'd swap in the cheapest n42 engine I could find and sell the car straight away, then use the money to buy an e46 with either the earlier 4 cylinder motor or the 6 cylinder. In my case my e46 is getting a m62b44, after going through the heartache of rebuilding the engine and have it fail just 150 km later. My engine woes can be found here;
  19. Take it somewhere decent. A bad wheel alignment place can make your wheel alignment worse than before (don't ask me how I know).
  20. Thats the second biggest stock front swaybar. There was a 24mm only found on the 330i msport. There was also a 26mm bar found on the m3 but it will not fit up without modification.
  21. What size re003's, what tread left, and how much?
