  1. @NZ_InFerno - what's your plan for the old gear knob? could be interested as a temporary one for the e31 until I can find a period correct m-logo gear knob...
  2. M539 Restorations on YouTube - must watch!
  3. Thanks @Jacko - thats not too bad for what you’re getting 😁. Hmmm… might need to revisit 😎!
  4. Big fan of the Stinger! @Jacko - interested to hear what range between fill ups you are getting on your trip. Very tempted to get one but the smallish (50l?) tank makes me a little hesitant.
  5. ^^ This! A mazda 6 sounds a like a good option - or alternatively, a Camry haha 🤣. IMO - Since the company is purchasing probably best to go with what they are ‘comfortable’ with rather than any personal preferences. Do hope you find something suitable, and acceptable, though.
  6. Correct - mated to 6-speed box. Never thought of this but could be a possibilty. It probably won't be for a little while though, as I have other priorities at the moment and as I accumulate the replacement parts. Probably best to PM for details etc. Cheers
  7. Fixed (or something grammatically close haha)! Do like this example though 😊. GLWS!
  8. Thanks again @e46v12 I wasn't 100% sure about compatibility between m60 and m62, Google can be confusing most times 😀. As kindly confirmed by yourself, I will use this set-up for my other e31 then get a second set later on to revert my other one back to DMF. A costly exercise but two sets for less than one genuine kit is a bargain - that's fun of having twin classic BMW's haha. Appreciated once again, cheers!
  9. Genuine question - is there any benefit of a hybrid for long distance travel? eg a 1000km return trip? i do several trips a year from wellington to whakatane in a v8. Cost doesn't deter me but after just doing 1800kms in less than two weeks got me thinking this same thing - diesel or hybrid? Something that is comfortable, practical and fuel efficient and not just the home to work, work to home commute. And fulfill fishing duties 😎. An X5? Ford Everest/Territory? Izusu ‘u-x? Hokden Trailblazer? Kia Sorento? Sorry EV, you’re out for now 🤣
  10. Thanks @e46v12! appreciate the tip - will look into changing to a thicker oil Will live with the shudder for now, but plan to revert back to DMF at some point. Interestingly, the original clutch went to MP Auto and i had several conversations with Greg as I’m localish. They diagnosed buggered flywheel, but couldn’t source a direct replacement. i had to go with a single due to not easily finding one (locally or overseas) and bmw wanting $5k for a full setup - ouch! Plus i had to get it mobile and off my mechanics lift. Always look forward to your updates - admire your knowledge and skills - awesome stuff! 😁
  11. Great work. Just curious, what type of custom clutch and flywheel set up did you go with for both? And where did you source them? Reason for asking is i recently did a clutch in an e31 that is factory manual/m60’ Went from a DMF to a single flywheel setup and not quite happy with the amount of shudder it now has. cheers
  12. Is the answer not in the title of the Act? 😎
  13. Must be a good day - its been a mission but Oxford passed wof haha. Now to use it! Two ‘choice bro’s’ in one day hope thats a good sign 🤣
  14. Last FCP delivery for the year, merry early xmas! 😎
  15. Wow - an e38 750! It must be one of very last ones. Congrats on the BMW 'V' trifecta - V8, V10, V12!
  16. How ‘desirable’ is it? Say (or write) it often enough and it shall become, perhaps… 🤣
  17. E34 & e38 msport cos they are old skool cool!
  18. Have been a passenger in a lhd 850i once. Scared the crap out of me feeling so exposed to on coming traffic. Even all the driving lines felt messed up. Was then offered to drive. I politely declined. anyone pulling the trigger on any of these? 😁
  19. Any of these examples are well worth what they have been 'offered' for IMO. Happy to be corrected, but I'm confident that these will be well and truly the best examples, in tip-top condition, that you will probably find in NZ. The seller is known as an extreme e31 enthusiast and does things to the highest standards. And disclaimer, I don't know or have any affiliation with them. That Dakar CSi is a bargain for what it has been offered for! @Blackie- if the budget could stretch another $50k or so it would be worth it 😎
  20. Manual 840ci's are the bizness! 🤣 But that Dakar 850csi - omg!!
  21. Will it be safe to say the the seller is a ‘collector’ of 8’s? 😁. An awesome trio but the Dakar CSI is interestingly cool! It is the pick of the bunch for me 😎
  22. It was probably treated like it was a Camry. Or Prius for that matter haha
  23. Now sold? Hope whoever bought it has their eyes open 😁. Fuel pump x2 = cha-ching haha. Hope it gets saved!
  24. Admire the effort of a build like this one, but it's a yeah, nah from me - and not just cos its asking $120k 😊
