    BMW vs E10

^^ This is hilarious and so true! Lovin it 😁 To quote some rap lyrics from β€˜84 - β€œ...and don’t be a slave to no computer, huh!”
  2. And that 330 WILL NEVER be an e34 M5! Agree with you on what you’ve said - well put πŸ‘
  3. I will only add to the above, triple check the part you want with the description and part number. I have found that if you are not familiar with different terms used for the same part to what is described in realOEM it can become daunting, confusing and frustrating. As you do not want to find that the part that turns up is not the one you need. For example, RealOEM will say rubber bushing with a part #, it will be handy to know what part that bush fits, and that part could have several names. From someone who has been there and done that 😁
  4. Having a soft spot for the e34 this one sounds like a great example. Look forward to the updates
  5. No I don't need another project 😎
  6. If you haven’t already, check out M539 Restorations on Youtube. His series on Project Cologne may get you more inspired about an E46 325i 😁. I doubt many would go to his level just for a daily driver. Well @Olaf maybe 😎! Seriously though, Olaf does know what he is talking about when it comes to E46 (and E30)! Welcome and good luck.
  7. Holy moly, 6. Speed. Manual! 😎
  8. ^thanks! Looks like i will need to dig deeper. I will keep doing it the old school way for now - use the key in the door to lock/unlock haha 😁
  9. Yup i get the flashing red light post changing batteries. I’ve tried both ways but no luck. Read on other forums that it could be a safety connection in bonnet or boot that may not be engaging when closed, thereby creating an open circuit? But have no idea how to check this
  10. Glad you got it to work @qube! I gave it a go and no joy - anyone got any other suggestions? Oh, BTW mine is an E31 with the 3 button remote. I have fresh batteries in the remote but it just wont 'pair' to the car ☹️. Cheers!
  11. Having the same issue with initializing a remote too, so will give this a go!
  12. Is the other kit still available? if so postage to Wellington? Cheers
  13. That's a beauty! What a way to comeback to the brand πŸ˜€
  14. Nice manual 540i you have there. I reckon it will be well worth bringing it back to its formal glory. Good luck!
  15. I'll stick to my gas guzzling, high emissions 25 year-old 'dungers' me thinks πŸ˜‰
  16. I'm not sure that you will find a BMW/Mini garage/specialist in Whakatane. But... I travel regularly to Whakatane and last year I took my e31 fuel pump housing with me to try a local auto electrician. Long story but it had a dead pump and damaged housing wiring. After calling several businesses I decided to take it to Super Auto Electrical. They sourced and fitted an OE Bosch fuel pump, then repaired the wiring all for what I consider a reasonable cost (hundreds v thousands for a genuine complete unit). No-one in Wellington was even remotely interested in helping me out. Run by a husband and wife with a team of mechanics they gave great service. Len, the owner, says they do a lot of work on the local euro's, BMW, Porsche, VW etc. When I was there they had an X5 and a VW Toureg showed up. They are my first port of call if I need a garage when I'm there. Hope this helps.
  17. This is cool, but not a huge fan of the red interior. Nothing that seat covers can't fix though!
  18. Which one would be worth a gamble on? 😁 Timing chain guides and Valve seals an issue with the 4.8?
  19. What about this one: https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/2950894624?bof=YZ79LrrT Pretty rare?
  20. Listed longer than the infamous P. North E39 540i β€˜Schnitzer’ with low kms? The one that is slowly decaying on the dealers yard? It must be close 😁😁
  21. Found this to be informative and interesting...
  22. The one that was listed on Trade Me over Xmas in the Hawkes Bay? If so was tempted myself as it seemed to be well looked after. And a good price too iirc. Congrats on the purchase!
  23. Great stuff. Reminds me, i need to get my seats done 😁
