5 pointsTook the M3 down to the Ardmore Showdown, Wings VS Wheels on Sunday. Great day, had loads of fun with a good set of controlled, fun drags. Maybe this bunch on here will appreciate the beauty of an M3 wasting everything in it's path, but it seemed the ECC crew didn't support it as much... Tough sh*t. Results from yesterday. M3 vs Holden SS = Won M3 vs R32 GTR = Won M3 vs 2nd Gen Subaru STI = Won M3 vs Supra Twin Turbo = Won M3 vs Schnitzer = Won M3 vs Audi S6 = Won M3 vs E60 M5 = Lost. Pleased to have lost in the presence of it's big sister. For a Stock M3 (apart from a splash of black Plasti Dip) I was stoked to walk away from every race with a smile on my face.. and with the shock of the crowd looking on. Can't say the JDM boys were happy to be beaten by not only a BMW, but a Girl too. Fantastic day overall! Loved it and can't wait for more M3 will be heading down to HellBM for all it's maintenance (Subframe, Diff Mounts, Service etc) that I can fill up the budget with this week, so will be good to go. Man, that car handled it like a champ, and didn't even use Launch Control! Schnitzer came along too for some fun. She sadly lost every race entered (HAHAHAH) (M3 vs Holden SS - Excuse language)

2 pointsI'd be concerned about how low it is. If he's been driving it like that for sometime there will be underbody damage not to mention issues with driveshafts and CV joints. They aren't designed to work at those angles.

2 pointsThe only stock jdm i saw there was an immaculate TME evo 6...riding on kingstar tyres...

2 pointsE30: New front swaybar bushings New offset m3 solid LCA bushings Steering response and braking is hugely improved. Noticeably less body roll (both the old sets of bushings were totally toasted) E36: New waterpump New thermostat and housing New rad hoses New coolant That'll explain the overheating.

2 pointsWent down to Hamilton for the African slogfest yesterday... Brilliant match... If Zimbabwe can just run hard on the first and look to take a second run as often as they can I can see them springing a few surprises in the coming matches... Shot of the day was watching Steyn being smoked through extra cover for 4... the look on his face was priceless!

1 pointBuild Date March 1994.Chassis JB02939 Reg No SS1338 Supplied by TMBMW July 1994.Full service history. At a cost of more than $110000 on the road there were not many of these AC Schnitzer S3 silhouette coupes bought into NZ. With the M50 2.5 engine producing 190 HP,a top speed of 150MPH and 0-60 in 6.5 seconds (AutoCar magazine Aug 1994) this car was no couch potato, these are respectable figures even today. One owner till June 2013 and on the mainland since, it has travelled 96000 kilometres. Always garaged, driven in the dry only, and in perfect original condition. $13000 For more detail PM or call 029 777 4006 Thanks for reading Update 05 October 2017 Car sold in Feb 2016 to third owner in Tauranga. And in July this year 2017 we bought the car back. It has a recent service with Coombes Johnson in Tauranga, and a complete four corner suspension refresh (Bilsteins), new bushes and sway bars, and new brake rotors too. So now it is really is a show car, and go car! The car is still in Tauranga, and if we don't sell it or deal it on something else I'll bring it back to the South Island, although at the moment there is no room in the garage! 1 pointIf you are on a work visa or the likes you need to pay in full up front. It its around 4x more expenisve. For a 1980's heap of crap Mazda they wanted 1000 quid up front. The car needs to have an MOT before you can get insurance. It is illegal to drive without either. It is usually why cars are so cheap there.

1 pointGo to Paypal and lodge a dispute. Go to the Resolution Centre and lodge a claim that you didn't get your item. You will be very surprised at how fast things will happen The seller has to fix it or Paypal will give you your money back. Make sure you tell them you have tried to resolve the matter of non delivery with the seller. It's all part of the guarantee that Paypal provides and has nothing to do with insurances that have been mentioned in this thread.

1 pointi brought a 740iL E32 off a diesel mechanic for a linehaul company, needed to use 3 foot of breaker bar to crack the wheel bolts, stripping a couple of the bolts in every hub in the process. Good job it was getting wrecked anyways. Diesel guys just seem to forget petrols (well... cars..) are much less forgiving

1 pointNice cars but just make sure you have a fat cheque book for maintainence / repair costs. So many people spend all they have on a complex car without having the means to be able to maintain.
-
1 pointmy opinion? Mods ruin the car, but NZ new is good. I wouldnt pay anywhere near that for it, they are starting to drop into the high 20s now.

1 pointYou can still make the most of that donor 728i. Move all the better stuff over, but tbh the 750il, stuff you would think is better? At the end of the day, your biggest calling card is the V12, that is the thing you have to secure. For a lot heartache, going to a swb version is not worth it I don't think. You can move all the better interior over from the 728i and you are half way there. But heck go for it, if you want to, mucking around with cars isn't always supported rationally. Having a LWB V12 probably isn't that rational anyway, so what the hey? Sometimes doing stuff with our cars, is because you want to, because you see the justification, and that's all that matters. Cheers

1 pointPainted the engine bay, went a bit HAM with the grinder and cut a whole lot of crap out while I was there. Not bad for a lazy hungover Sunday. Also got block Pistons etc back from engine shop, just waiting on bearings and rings to turn up so I can assemble the block.

1 pointI just picked up a new car worth more than yours today, so its certainly not me "scraping together pennies". There is a difference between a good car and a liability. If the inspection reports are to be believed, your car is the latter. I wish the new owner the best of luck, and i hope he comes on here so we can help him get the car back to the standard it deserves, with the owner that it deserves. I will advise that if this is the attitude you intend to use on this forum, you might want to sign out and not come back. You wont be missed.

1 pointUsed a little polish today. Apparently our car is blue. Who would have known?

1 pointI made the mistake of purchasing an automatic for my better half. What a mistake. I ended up having to rebuild the box myself. Lost reverse gear after two weeks. The parts are stupidly expensive also. Cost me a grand just for parts. Good thing rebuilding gearboxes isn't that hard I prefer manual too but unfortunately nz has a lack of those

1 pointI felt like the M3 wasn't getting new toys. And I decided that I wasn't yet prepared to bring in my humogo wish list order from ECS while the exchange rate is blerg. So I committed a BMW crime and purchased colour changing LED Angel Eyes for her. Oh and the Schnitzer. See Video for ultimate muppet mode.
