4 pointsShouldn't make any difference, Chevron NZ supply all Caltex, Challenge and Farmlands outlets. BP do GAS Alley. Mobil do Waitomo Oil, North Fuel and South Fuel. Z purchase on the open market now they are released from the Royal Dutch Shell umbrella. Gull are independent but linked with Australian refineries (ethanol blending). Though if you've ever been to a bulk fuel facility you'll notice all brands load from the same tanker terminal (ship) and it has always been rumored that the tank farms are linked. A significant volume of NZ fuel is processed at Marsden Point, around 75% of our diesel and half our petrol. Its share holders include Mobil, Shell, Chevron and BP. Its nearly all piped to Wiri and distributed from there. Brand cross-contamination almost guaranteed.

3 pointsWhere is easy. The city bound on ramp at Waterview. Two lanes, was going around a van and once clear of it found a silver Rav4 coming straight at me. Hit brakes/horn/flashed lights, couldn't stop, she went on the grass around me. 30-40m further on was armco where she swerved and we would have just hit. How? Who knows? Even the 7 year old said, "How did she even get there?" If you see a silver Rav4 driven by a blond woman in her 50s, rego starting with BDS, I suggest you give her a wide berth. Or a smack between the eyes.

2 pointsThat link is crazy, looks like it was probably winched onto a truck from it or something. Interestingly, arent the stickers on the arm to say "DO NOT TOW"? I also concur with the other comments, the blue actually looks nicer in proper pictures, and since its cleaned. Love that inlay in the wood trim, just the small details that show the car is special.

2 points+infinity on that one. At my work they told us they were going to improve the parking for us due to the increase in staff and lack of parks. Did they increase the size of the parking lot. NO! They friggin shrink the size of the parking space by about 20cm. WTF. Hang on. I'm gonna copy and paste this for the rant thread. Damn it. I'm agrivated now.. lol

2 pointsCan recommend Manukau Auto Centre, ask for Dan and say Graham sent you, he will look after you. They have painted a few of my cars. Facelifted my car, new bumper, lights, painted both sides, front bumpercover and bonnet… also blacked out wheels and door handel. My race car, full respray, two tone… don’t look at the panel work too close though. Haha
-
2 pointsDon't get me started on close parking and door dents from careless schmucks. The bane of my life!

2 pointsboooooost in all seriousness ... e39 if you want a comfotible cruiser, e46 if you want more sporty feel but arent worried about the lack of leg room in the back.

1 pointNo doubt some of you will have seen my other threads. I'm starting a new one here to document where I started and my progress on this car. Mostly as a record for myself but you all should feel free to chime in with your thoughts as well.. Car was purchased without viewing. All I knew was it was a 1999 750i and I wanted it bad. lol I was told over the phone it was a repo and wasn't running and has 240,000kms on the clock. Picked the car up in Hamilton from Turners on the 5/05/15 and towed it home to Wanganui. I bought it as a non runner and knew I'd taken a bit of a gamble. I won..lol. I checked the water and oil then put a new battery and some gas in it yesterday and on the second crank it fired up.. Took it for a little drive up and down the road and it ran super smooth. So it got a quick wash then off to the testing station. FAIL.. Right hand tie rod bent. Some genius must have towed it from there. So because of that the Steering angle sensor has gone off and its permanently got the DSC warning light on. Right side head light is dim. Checked and the cap that holds the bulb in is broken. Passenger side rear shock is leaking. Rear seat belt wouldn't click in. Fixed. I couldn't do a lot else mechanically till I get the parts so I started cleaning it out. My first impression on seeing pics of that blue interior wasn't good. Then when I noticed it had a leather center console I felt a bit ripped off. I mean seriously, wood's key in E38's..lol After talking to some other E38 enthusiasts on other forums I've realized that no one has EVER seen a leather console before. And also after seeing the Blue in person I have to say I really like it. There are a lot of other features that make this car stand out a bit more. Like the wood inlay, vanity headrests and picnic tables on the back of the front seats. It seems to have a lot of options that you don't normally see. So I was poking around under the bonnet and found this which explains a lot. So this car just keeps throwing up nice surprises..lol Not only is it rare just being a 750i it's also an Individual. You know your keen when your out in the rain giving your car a wash..lol Then it was into the garage for a vacuum and start cleaning the interior. The leather cleaner I bought is really doing the trick. From this. To this. And this. Once I've finished cleaning up the interior I'll move onto giving this a good groom and oil change. Theres a lot that needs doing. The Silver hides a lot in the pics. It really needs a new paint job and has a couple of small dents and some surface rust in 2 spots and the clear coat is lifting on the bonnet. I think the previous owner might have live near the ocean. All the Chrome is pitted and nasty looking so it will all need to be replaced or re chromed. The 750i badge will definitely need to be redone. I don't think I'd be able to find another one of those. CD changer wont eject the case and it doesn't recognize it even has a CD player on the dash. Thats ok cause it would seem the Amp has blown as well. If you turn on the radio it just screeches at you. Boot lid open warning comes up on the dash even though the boot is closed. I'm hoping thats just a switch. In any case, I'm super happy. I've got a very cool project to play with for the foreseeable future.

1 pointWhen you run out of compartments in component trays for capacitors. I mean putting a 10v 180uf cap in with 25v 180uf caps is so damn annoying.

1 pointThanks Bro. Yea it is just a look thing with this car. I'll build a fast driver at some point again
-
1 pointGreat score! Has cleaned up nicely. That blue is looking much more appealing having been cleaned. I could certainly imaging it growing on you. I would though - update the monitor to 16:9 Whoever has towed the car by the control arm deserves having a rope around them & being towed!
-
1 pointHey cheers Brent for the advice. Such a lovely car you have there. I just bought an M535i like yours. I think I'll have to run a 15mm spacer for them to work well. Thanks for fhe offer but i have the brake upgrade already!
-
1 pointHey everyone thanks so much for your guys input. Good news is no more warning light resistors did the job
-
1 pointWhat you would of experienced is just a drop in temperature and air pressure with the colder weather. Both of which the MSS54 base ECUs measure and lookup these tables and adjust timing against knock values to suit.

1 pointGT Refinishes on Walls Road Penrose. Grant is the owner. They do a lot of show cars. Good pricing. EuroTech, Sylvia Park Road. Very good work. Not cheap. They are the only BMW i Car panel & paint repairer

1 pointPosted this elsewhere but I think it deserves to be here. At my work they told us they were going to improve the parking for us due to the increase in staff and lack of parks. Did they increase the size of the parking lot. NO! They friggin shrink the size of the parking space by about 20cm. WTF. Now everyone has to squeeze out of their cars and cant really avoid bumping their door into the car beside them. I have 2 new chips in the 740i's passenger door from work so now I drive all the way to the end of the car park and pull up on the grass. where no one parks.. Well, almost no one. I notice my boss has started parking his brand new Commodore there as well. Funny that.

1 pointDid you not check out the 2002 smg with 28k on the clock at JGBMW a couple months back ? Best M3 I'd seen in years , was as new condition.

1 pointMake a BMW 'S3' (Schnitzer 3) Hybrid the two cars together for one ultimate car. Then purchase E36 318is for fun car.. Kidding. My goal is to have her back in my driveway. Strict curfews will be put in place if that happens. Eg: No driving in traffic, not to be driven in the wet, bull bars front and rear... Nah not really, but I think I'll become a concerned mother whenever it gets driven (if it ever gets driven again) I'm hopeful. Fingers crossed and all. Right now it's just waiting back from insurance on what's the verdict. It's been the most intense waiting period ever. Women should never love cars, this sh*t gets too emotional! Haha.

1 pointTrick question. No such thing as a 330 motorsport with a manual gearbox At least without applying some Ray from HellBM.

1 pointThanks Dimitri.. I was looking for filters, most repco, parts master and supercheap auto charges around $100 or more for them, But I think Transmax transmission shop in manakau has the lowest prices similar to what you would pay after USD/NZD conversion from ammazon. So just putting it out there. around $30 - 50 for most filters.

1 pointHow about a his and hers special for $100k? Pristine condition 535i with 5000k on it and a 2004 M3 vert (hard top with smg) with 130k - best of both worlds.

1 pointOrdered a new suspension link and it'll arive in the morning so in the mean time I've been cleaning. The interior has come up real nice. Then it was into those bits that most people forget to clean when they wash their car. And this car was definitely forgotten. Next was the engine bay. I dont know if it'll show in the pics but it's a whole lot cleaner than it was. Also found a few more things that need attention while I was cleaning. The fan shrouds broken and needs a replacement and the oil filter top mounts are broken. Before After.

1 pointFor repair of ask unit in e65 go to diyparadise and search cd ask repair kit and if you can use a small solder iron its very easy. If you think its to difficult you can take to any repair shop as the instruction are very clear and they will probably do for around 100dollars
-
1 pointGo to aliExpress and search cd loader cdm-m3 4.8. When it arrives you just remove print board and replace with your bmw print board and everything will work fine.
-
1 pointThe front wheel is so far forward due to: offset lollipops M3 EVO arms The Camber plates being quite far forward compared to standard M3 tops.
-
1 pointFirst round of progress: Front suspension and brakes swapped. Rear to be done this week as well as drive line teardown. Aim to have it finished by the end of May. There are some huge advantages starting to show already, because the motor is going into a car it was designed to fit, the motor is sitting about 6 inches further behind the front axle than it was in the e30. This tied in with the fact the wheel base is about 7 inches longer makes for a far better handling car.
