Work has started on the rear guards with donor cuts from a silver M3. Lots of `behind the scene` work involved with the double skin and reinforcing.

Maybe you should write an open letter.

^yeah man. It's like, I am choosing not to end your life by slowing down and not running you over, the last thing you should be doing is swearing at me.

With higher load components all it takes is one bolt to come loose then its only time before the others start. Its easy to over react and jump to conclusions. If you have ever done 4x4ing you will know this is a real problem with dirt getting into bolt threads, especially if the thread was dirty when put back in. Probably an honest mistake on one bolt and the other make their way loose after an amount of movement over a lengthly amount of time. It also probably not a great idea to drive a car around for a long time with a clunk going on. It would make a hell of a knocking sound when going over bumps etc.

Wow, lucky lady to get there in one piece that would have ended horribly. Things like that are the reason I think the longer period between warrants is a bad idea.

How do you even do that

So even though nothing much has been happening on the car itself, many parts have been acquired in order to finish it off: Crank and other parts needed for the engine rebuild which will start next week. Original Headers 6 speed Gearbox Original MZ3 Radiator (3 core vs 2 and also 1cm thicker than M3 one) E36 TDS oil cooler (20% larger than factory M3 one). DS2 aka sunflower staggered wheels. Engine mounts and other various fittings. At this stage we are going for 100% BMW parts approach and with a bit of luck it will be mostly together by the end of August/Start of September. I am also going to have a big cleanout once I know whats left over, just off the top of my head: -The E30 shell with 316ti suspension and M3 bodykit, willwood pedal set, E36 steering rack, alloy rad and oil cooler, 120L drop tank, roll cage, adjustable anti roll bar. -E36 M3 front ARB -S50B32 headers modified to fit E30 with E36 Rack -S50B32 crank with damage, can be repaired but will need largest oversize bearings (its borderline so would probably only be suitable for road car that not going to be stressed) -E36 5 speed ZF gear selector (was modified from a 6speed) -M50 5 series sump and oil pump. heaps of other odd parts but i'll create a master list on bimmersport before going on trademe.

So I bought my first car on the week end, but it needs a bit of work... It's a 1985 Bronzit 525e that is half way through a manual swap, it's got manual windows and sunroof but that just means less things to break (I hope). It's a bit of a mess at the moment, most of the center console is taken apart and there is no gearbox or driveshaft in it. The previous owner has done most of the electronics and put the pedal box in.

Private hire, so race or road cars will be fine. This is a cost share day, where John from the track is organising others to join in, at present he has a couple of muscle car guys who are interested, Porsche Racers .. Normal start time, think its after the horses are finished 10:00. No need to pre-book, just turn up and pay on the day. For details contact: [email protected] 021 704 347

You are going m50 turbo yeah? Def do the five stud now while you are at it and before you start ordering your suspension parts. It also opens up a world of bolt on bigger brakes (e46 etc). Wheel options is also up there. Can't be any cons apart from money and time doing it

How else do you think the problem was found?

Bugger. Off on holiday that day, would have been keen to take the Megane out. Noob's, just be aware this is a test day and some people are testing, brakes etc, I nearly had my biggest track incident at one of these days when a E30 series guy "tested" his brakes half way down the front straight, must have missed him by an inch at over 180kph. Have fun.

Nice one, looks tidy. I recently put a Z3 rack in my E36 M3 track car. I LOVE IT. The M3 should have come like that from factory.

Hey all - This my new ride! Looking to beef up the sound a bit from stock - been searching muffler deletes and all sorts of things. I am on budget and looking for the most cost effective way to produce a bit more sound from this sleeping beast. Can anyone offer any suggestions? In Palmerston North area Cheers!

Gotta modify the OEM side mirrors and put them on... those replicas you have on are just "no bueno". So far so great. Everything looks really good. I did an E46 sedan conversion to full M3 front... similar to Jeppe, it was fun but very involved. Can't wait to see her finished. No one has done one of these. I wanted to do one a while back but just never found enough time for it. Best of luck, great work.
