My mate took some more photos last week. Changes: -Height adjustment (raised rear 20mm, front 5mm) -NS2R semi-slicks -Racetech RT1000 seats x2 -Stripped rear seats and door cards, boot stripped. -Reiger style front lip -I liked the colour scheme of my Alpina caps so put them on too even though they're BBS's, meh.

Btw, with the tv tuner module you can plug your phone video out into the BMW screen for the life's of google maps. Use voice commands to control the app for hads free.. It's a bit clunky and mono audio but does work.

I had a look on youtube - looks fiddly, though not beyond your skills. If you need an extra set of hands, give me a shout. Part 1 https://youtu.be/uyxy50jfkhY Part 2 https://youtu.be/rGiDhxNkOKc HTH

Really happy to see the 530i went to a bimmer sport member. I was trying to sell my wife's car in time to buy that one and noticed it had been removed from Trademe, figured it was gone. Look forward to seeing it soon. I have a 03 530i in silver. Picked it up at 70km and not done 135km. It's tidy but an import which has always bothered me. You should come through for the monthly coffee meet in Penrose. It's actually on tomorrow (11am ish)

On older ibus versions its more of a electrical conversion that a software plus hardware plus coding affair. Its largely plug and play. What I'd recommend is that you check out http://www.info.org.nz/?download=e39_jap_2_euro_nav_conversion_mar09.pdf and also take your time to understand the WDS wiring information and cross check the wiring colours. http://www.bmw-planet.com/diagrams/release/en/ In my e46 both the japan nav and telephony module have been swapped out for mk4 and Bluetooth Ulf. I needed up buying the factory.loom for TV to mk4 module and found that a few wiring colour codes where different in the telephone module. The nice thing about the mk4 module is it only needs a subset of the jap nav wiring to work. The gps Trimble stage is built in you can get away with not needing wheel pulse feeds as it estimates average speed reasonably well. In the telephone module I use the shark fin aerial instead of installing a factory BT aerial and the coverage works in my lounge with the car parked in the garage. If the car was a late model Merc which runs basic encryption between modules then your posting link is quite valid. Its easier to turn one of these into a teapot than people think . A few stories of performance remaps which render the car useless with the only fix is to re-issue a new factory id and only at the dealers discretion. $9k later .....

So I just missed out on a 2007 335i motorsport for 14k. I saw it on Turners and it had an estimate of 13-14k. The owner pulled it and sold it privately for 14k which is what I offered him but the other guy offered him the same money but got there first. After a bit of digging I found it had the turbos replaced under warranty last year (wastegate rattle) and a new water pump. It had solid service history in NZ and a JB4 tune, charge pipe and downpipe, pretty tidy car. Best of all dynoed at 370 HP. So now when I look at 20k plus Highline and SE 335i's with hideous wood trim and biscuit wheels I just keep moving on. Gutted to miss out on it. Perhaps I need to have a look at this one. Same colour and similar kms etc but not tuned. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1056921126.htm

Finally get E30 on the road and go to my goto WoF guy, didn't realise i have aftermarket concentric(?) bushes up front, he won't pass them. It needs certing anyway for adjustable shocks, motor swap, manual conversion etc... but I'm getting over the endless list of sh*t this car needs... Thinking about throwing the towel in and either getting a better quality of E30 that's already had the work i want finished or just a 335 wagon... or brents E34 544iT... or i just don't know, i want all the cars.

Reminds me, voice turn instructions are nicely mixed into factory audio system at a volume level of your choice . Basic distance before turn shows up on dash display as well so . Can also run split screen with radio on one side and intructions on other. There is a choice of voices with the Nav software version cd.

Brain scan clear (MRI) Eye surgery successful and loss of vision halted for the time being 9 months of reflection and contemplation over and feeling fortunate. And a couple sneaky glasses of wine on a Friday evening reading bimmersport posts. Life is good .......... actually very good........

I had it in my old E39 M5 and loved it. You can dload a 2013 Map (Aus and NZ combined) to get it to work. It's a bit clunky, but the general layout of the Mk4 is streets ahead of the Mk2 layout.

I remember peanut butter sandwich lunches and 60km commuting two up a 250cc motorcycle to save money.4 years. Not owning a TV for 5 years, no going out unless birthday or similar. Wife did degree over 10 years in evenings and weekends. I did whatever overtime I could and pushed myself at work.I Had the same e30 for 15 years /330,000kms. First house paid off in late 30s. Apart from the Auckland market I tend to smile at people b$tching and moaning about getting into the housing market yet will have $1k cellphones , $40-60k tied up in a cars and spend a few hundred on a Friday entertaining themselves. It's a matter of choices and some hard work.

Totally agree with Nick and is why I will not sell my E30 M325 http://www.bmwblog.com/2016/03/29/video-nick-murray-drives-e30-325i/

Standing on my deck watching a herc turn finals over my paddocks into the sunset, and hearing the dull roar of reverse thrust as it touches down. I love living within the OH circuit.

Very slow progress atm as have changed jobs recently and waiting for commissions and parts to arrive. so while waiting for all my bits to start work on the pull down and rebuild of the motor ive had done a few little bits to keep it moving forward. Also done a bit of work in the engine bay stripping and shaving/sanding before welding work begins hopefully get stuck into the engine bay after xmas Firstly i updated the speedo cluster a bit with carbon fibre trim (not 3m rubbish) black chrome trim rings and blue needles And also sent my hartge wheels away to be re-drilled (luckily just fits under the centre cap) and the lips split so i can start the re-build process they remind me of BBS RM's Looking at going with 2" front and 2.5" rear lips so the fit nicely (lips are currently 1.5")

So, had a big weekend on the car got a few bit had sitting around fitted and quite happy with the results First off the weekend started with a bit of fire.... man what a bitch those subframe bushes can be....replaced with revshift 12mm riser bushes as well as all rear trailing arm bushes and front control offset bushes. Fitted a rear sway bar, nolathane sway bar bushes, all new ball joints and links & E36 steering rack. then bolted up custom built XYZ suspension, may need a little tweaking with strut and spring lengths to get the required height i am after but will get the engine/gearbox back in first before i make any more calls on that. Also finished up the 5 stud conversion which was relatively straight forward. At the moment it sits like this, wheels are e34 15x7 et20.... After finally getting the old girl back on some shoes again after a few months of having its under belly scrubbed and tidied up i then set out to get the interior tidy..... so started off with this.. a good water blast/ scrub then a few coats of duplicolor vinyl and carpet dye and youd never know, as well as this also did the hood lining black to match Then put the centre consoles with fuzzfabrics houndstooth gear boot and handbrake boot and Recaro LS front seats, which along with the rear will be re-trimmed at a later date to match the gear & handbrake boots. and just for a bit of fun mocked up the Mtech 1 wing just to finish the look Next on the to do list is now to sort out the small patches of rust in the boot area and start on the smoothing and tidying of the engine bay, mean while saving for the all important engine components.
