You're all going to regret not buying Mt2 steering wheels when they were $8,500 😂

Agreed, the leather actually still look supple. Almost unheard of for 80s/90s BMW leather.

@Michael. Those seats look amazing in the full res shots, no bolster wear or anything? Very impressive

I can recommend Pears soap (the orange translucent bar) for leather, you can get it at New World.

Pretty standard tyre fitting monkeys down here. They know how to use the machine and that's about it.

Only superficial, naturally there is some, mostly on the upper bolster, not the lower one. The low kms the car has done and being garage has definitely helped. Probably one of the reasons I knew I had to buy this car in a heart beat, I saw the potential with how it could come up with a process of TLC.

I have two tech 1 wheels. I plan to swap them for someone's house in a few years.

No good down here on rural roads. Will just aggressively follow the ruts. But I can also honestly say I have never had understeer in this vehicle. Even on the track.

Interesting that the 190E, driven by a capable journalist, was decently faster over a lap than the M3 driven by a race driver. The benefit of multilink rear suspension? In my experience, the 190E is a more relaxed and comfortable drive. The E30 is more involved, perhaps more direct. But the 190E is faster over a given piece of road. Stock cars or near-as...

    Thanks Michael. Looking great.

If your wheel widths allow it go for a square setup on tyres, they're way more entertaining when driving with enthusiasm. Stagger just results in understeery.

Keen to see more details on your muffler mod. Perhaps a video of how it sounds!? Also loving the attention to detail here. Gives me motivation to continue the tiding up on mine!

Im surprised the tyre shop allowed the fitting of non regulation size tyre on the rim.

First small job was to sort out the godawful (in my opinion) tail lights, I've also replaced the black BMW badge prior to the photo's below.

Faster than you can say... WUT !!!!! This engine revs to 12,100rpm and gets there in 3/10th's of a second !!! The rpm rise rate is 28,000 revs/sec which is about what you might expect if the flywheel parts company with the crank while your average high performance engine is at WOT. https://www.enginetechnologyinternation ... eased.html Naturally aspirated 3.9litre V12 making 650hp with more technical tricks that you can poke a stick at... this truly is cutting edge stuff. I'd have this over that 1000hp lump Cheers...

Final update on the car - I’ll leave this thread up to assist others. After much frustration with wiring, expensive bills that seemed never ending, it actually passed a VTNZ wof (which it then needed to fail for the cert...) and had cert booked. However it wasn’t running well and struggling when VANOS kicked in. What I hadn’t realised was that this was due to the oil pickup gradually getting stuffed full of metal filings. Queue 2 big end bearings shot, one brand new oil pickup toast, non running engine and more bills to diagnose said engine I was over it. I sold it from the workshop, never even got it back home. Learnings? Rust is balls, and M52B28 engine would have been easier.
