New Years polish, at least the paint job looks consistent from 3M’s 😉 Finished with a sealer and a couple of long drives

Considering @Sammo was selling his for only 1.5k more, which was a manual and in better condition (and personally, better colour too) than this, definitely not worth it. All those “watch lists and e-mails” don’t mean jack until someone actually pulls the trigger.

A hybrid is less beneficial on long journeys than short commutes as there is less slowing down to charge the battery so a higher percentage of your energy is coming from the gas tank, but perfect if you do a lot of commuting and an occasional long trip and you don't want 2 vehicles, plug in hybrid slightly better if you can stop and charge it along the way.

He preventative matienanced the shizzle out of his and it looked amazing. This will likely have nothing touched and the colour looks like bmw couldn't decide between silver or gold so got drunk and sprayed both.

Very true, the whole RUC system is very inflexible and hard to apply across many electric vehicles and there are so many different types of EV, full battery, plug-in hybrid, hybrid, Range extender, etc. Really needs a complete review, but I’ll be surprised if that happens in time, so it’ll be another square peg bashed into a round hole.

I reckon a 'how-to' would go down really well. Mine's "a bit" cracked beneath my dash mat.

Thanks again @e46v12 I wasn't 100% sure about compatibility between m60 and m62, Google can be confusing most times 😀. As kindly confirmed by yourself, I will use this set-up for my other e31 then get a second set later on to revert my other one back to DMF. A costly exercise but two sets for less than one genuine kit is a bargain - that's fun of having twin classic BMW's haha. Appreciated once again, cheers!

This one seems odd, has been listed several times. And the most recent it even had a leading bid 1 day out, closed with no bids on it? Seems like not a bad price given what it appears to be and with the wheels etc

We have a very high km Camry Hybrid for around town duties. It's comfortable and quiet, does the job. Very easy on the wallet I run a 406 diesel at the moment as a commuter, and at 4.5L/100km is about as much CO2 as a purely coal powered EV (which isn't even a reality anyway) Our family car is a Lexus gs430, not particularly green. The old British cars in the shed are broken and the mx5 gets driven a couple times a year. The junky old Pug has paid for itself in a very short time over commuting in the Lexus.

I genuinely think that is the way forward. Whether it is a hydrogen ICE-type solution, or using hydrogen as a fuel cell. And that will be an economic answer. Anyone can build something at home to release hydrogen from water and while those designs are unlikely to be commercially viable it does demonstrate the potential. But for now... The choice isn't simple. A hybrid? A diesel? Or just buy an economical car? We get 13.6km per litre from our E46 318i.

Who cares? The thread is about cheaper running, not feeling good about where the fuel comes from (in which case you wouldnt be running fossil fuel either, get a bike). This argument always comes up whenever someone recommends an EV, just like people flogging the whole "but Hydrogen isnt green so its a waste of time" when people talk about the potential for Hydrogen FCVs. 91 octane is a false economy too, most cars get better fuel economy on higher octane... so with 91 you spend less to get less KM per tank.

I have 3 doors available if anyone wants them, they have been sitting outside for a while but after a clean would come up alright. I was hoping that they may be of use to someone in the e30 racing series? Seems a bit of a shame to send them to the scrapper. Also have lots of glass to giveaway. Located Christchurch Cheers

Bicycle Edit: I was serious. Obviously its situational and distance dependent but i save about 1-1.5k on fuel + all the other running costs when biking 16km per day, 4 days per week.

Happy New Years to you all. I dedicated myself the 4 stat days to crack on to the headers and man it took alot longer than i expected. 3 solid days and ive almost got the drivers side done. There were a few hiccups and requirements that i wanted. Nuts to be accessable by a socket which 7/8 of the nuts are and that all 4 pipes would go on the underside of the steering shaft. which meant it was going to be tight. Busted out the new band saw and what a life saver it was with straight cutting and the amount of pie cuts i needed to do. Also installed the slimmer steering shaft from a f series car, works a treat. this was the first attempt to the 3rd and 4th pipes. i redid them as i wasn't happy with the design. Thanks Team
