Or you could buy this E24 for $170,000 and use the $40,000 leftover to buy an 1987 318i Sedan. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m6/listing/3457422795

Did BMW design the X7 purely for middle aged Chinese ladies to block the right lane?

I'm game, got some road rash around the arches that need a clean up. I'll order some and post some images.

"These engines are bullet proof' such an over used\exaggerated term, i don't even know what its suppose to mean anymore. Guess its cylinder head rebuild before 200,000km for this guy.

I’m a sucker for a low mileage car - I love a mint original interior. A 300km interior will never look as new. I get even more excited with full history and all the receipts that show the story since new

I had a little chuckle to myself when I realised my 389,000km E30's odometer wasn't working 🤣 Need to fix it for the 400,000km Photo Op.

So much this. Low mileage is absolutley no guarantee of good condition, just that it's not been used.

It means they will stop bullets. That's 120k worth of cars on a good day. $210k is dreaming.

Nah mate just buy a 135i with a tune, apparently that's the way to go according to flat earthers

... what do you think of this ? These guys... https://beacham.co.nz/beacham-e-type/ have come a long way since I saw them installing the entire drive train from a late model Corvette into a restored E-Type shell. Their work is right up there with the very best in the world, and they are doing it all right here in NZ Cheers...

And of course, if the E-Type is too modern for your taste, what about an XK150 ? The last, and IMHO the best of the XK series that still retained the classic English sports car styling. When you have a car that looks this good you don't need to drive fast... https://beacham.co.nz/beacham-xk-150/ Cheers...

Smart way to get around trademes horrendous fees...

Well that + taking up two parking spots, so they really have a dual purpose, blocking lanes and parking spots. I have yet to see a new X7 parked properly, don't they have automated parking? They should, the target market clearly need it.

Turners had stock last week, amazon often have them on super cheap deals (TRW parts), Superpro do PU bushed ones and are available etc etc. Camber pin does some, it might be enough. DINAN do camber plates too... but M3 LCAs are better option to start with. IMHO Coilovers are a great way to have 999 different settings, 998 of them wrong.

Unlikely to strip on an m54, often the issue is down to a few factors: Most suppliers send M50 head bolts (quite a lot shorter) And poor prep and installation (unclean, or too much lube) In very rare cases it's a soft or distorted block

Seems crazy, someone having 50/60k to buy a car sure... lots of people out there... but 210k? Thats mortgage material for 90% of potential buyers.
  19. 1 point
Nice cars but gee they are limiting buyers by refusing to split them

Ah yes, the infamous stratification wheel, its caught me out before, sadly though in this case I had it set to Hot already. I agree the Heater Valve is probably the issue, but Water Pump is more a scheduled maintenance concern!

Great to see this project, M54B30 was the second engine I ever rebuilt from my 330i back in 2012/2013. Brings back memories.

$22K if its tidy. I wouldn't be paying through the nose on a 'low kms' E30 as it basically just means its been sitting around with rotting rubber or the odometer is broken.

OK Folks. So the next project is the new daily.. What is is? - E30 coupe, Ex pickapart shell from years back, sat in a paddock for the last few years. What will it be? - E30 318i (M44) turbo.. Circa 350ish WHP, handle like a race car, look sharp, yet feel like a Bentley when you are in it.. Here is some turbo parts porn whilst i formulate some photos and more details about the project..

I feel like a child and its the night before christmas. Since my last update, many parts have been ordered, I finally got a wheel alignment, the Z3 rack was installed and the car has disappeared into the paint shop for a few weeks. The shop called to tell me that she was all ready to be picked up, but I wasn't around and they all wanted to get out early for the long weekend so I will pick it up on Tuesday. Im positively brimming with excitement. I'll post more photos once I get the car back, but for the m oment. Before After While its a bit hard to tell in this photo, the dents are all gone, the car is a uniform Sterling Silver and all of the stone chips are gone. It should look the part once I get it back and can take photos of it completely reassembled. What blows me away is that this car lived outdoors in a driveway for almost a decade not getting used, and it has no rust, anywhere. I feel that I lucked out with this one.
