    Project: Convert E46 HELLM3 into a S65/manual E46/E92 hybrid. Our approach will differ to the other more complicated ways of making things fit. We aim to not tamper with steering and suspension setup. Started with a donor E46 to use as a mockup with a cutoff wheel taken to a subframe. Engine /gearbox placement has been achieved quite nicely (great skills `HellBoy`) Engine mounts ,gearbox mounts,exhaust to be fabricated by Quest. To compensate for the extra height added by the E65 plenum we will fabricate an E92 M3 bonnet dome onto the E46 M3 bonnet. Pics will tell the story.

    Just thought I'd show the awesome job member Jasjot did on my 18" BBS LM's. They came over from Japan in pretty average condition, and Jas transformed them. Lips had minor curbing fixed and were polished, centres were powder coated satin black by ProCoat in East Tamaki and the bolts were tumbled. Centres were also reverse mounted.     Or did you download it? With one of my E38's not running right I'm thinking it's about time I got myself INPA or something similar. So are you using INPA or something else and where did you get it? Bought and payed for or found online?

    Downloaded it. I can provide the INPA files if required because that's simple, I'm more hesitant to offer DIS because of exactly what Josh says above.

    EDIABAS (INPA included) is factory only suit of tools used for module programming and testing. There are lots of clones and copied software floating around. All of which have gone through the butthole of the internet and back out the other side. Many configuration files that come with these have been butchered and setup incorrectly.

    IIRC obtaining INPA as anything but a BMW service centre is against EULA, this illegal? Certainly shouldnt be paying for it.

    I bought a cable for the OBDII port and INPA came with it. Was pretty cheap - about $50 for cable I think.

    Sure thing, for anyone who wants to know .The only reason I will be running this setup is cause I want to run 16" wheels! The solution I have chosen is stay with the 4x100 as I this is not a race car but more a street car for some track use. "As they are always heavier than dedicated track cars, don't have any real brake cooling, and are often quite powerful and drive by people who don't really know how to brake on a race-track / in a race-car" This is me and from what I have been told, oem (5 stud) pad thickness is limited compared to the likes of willwood or brembo, thus poor durability (compared) when you throw lots of heat on them on track. Yes the 5 stud swap offers a more "stiffer" setup and can be modified using stock oem parts but for the ease I will stay with 4x100. The price is also a big factor, first doing a 5 stud swap, then sourcing bigger brakes and also trying to make them fit under a 16" wheel compared to a one off bolt on kit made for 16" wheels. (Yes you could possibly do it a little cheeper finding/using other parts) As with most of the 5 stud brake options I would have to go aftermarket for 300mm brakes to fit 16" wheels thus making it a little easier with the 4 stud option I will use lee's bbk 4x100 setup for the front, (http://www.massivebrakes.com/brake-systems.php?p=e30_front_300x32mm) for a few reasons, thicker disk, Bigger pad, Better caliper and will fit under 16" wheels (really wanting to run 16" wheels) This kit is the same price as the 300mm/22mm kit so for the sake of it il get the better one. The rear setup will most likely be his rear bbk package. Will also be running an e32 booster and master cylinder. Major thanks to " E30-323ti " for some proper good advice Hope this makes sense

    They aren't OEM, Not too bad for the price but id personally rather spend a bit more and get Bosch. Why are you replacing the coils? they aren't generally regarded a wear item, and unlike in older cars with just one, there are 6 so if one fails you will never be stranded.

    Installed new brake rotors.pads hoses and wear sensors to the e30. It might stopin a straight line now. has also had a new rear muffler, dissy cap, rotor, leads,thermostste, radiator flush, temp senders, auto trans and poer steer flush....ok im buggered now.

    Lots. Alpina built two models based on the E31: 97 850i/Ci-based B12 5.0 cars with 350PS (345hp) offered exclusively with an automatic, and 57 850CSi-based cars with a 6-speed manual or an optional Shift-tronic transmission. The B12 5.7 Coupe was based on the 380PS (375hp) 5.6-liter V12 850CSi but with a slightly larger displacement 5.7-liter V12 with reprogrammed ECUs and modified intakes to develop 416PS (410hp) and 570Nm. Minor changes were made to the front suspension, and the Alpina got 18-inch wheels with 245/40 tires front and 285/35 rear. There were some cosmetic upgrades like the vented carbon-fiber hood, front spoiler and a blue-background for the instrument dials. Price: one was offered this time last year for US$250k.

    I cheated, i pulled the guts out of my garage door remote and put them up in the car roof with a small power regulator to replace the battery and a push button mounted in the panel. Works perfectly and is probably cheaper, but not factory looking.

    'cos it's easier to ask a professionals opinion and then rubbish it with "factz" from the internets. After all, a DIY hack from the back blocks of some god forsaken town in the middle of Nowheresville, USA / Slovakia / Morrinsville knows more than a craftsman with 30+ years experience. Rant done

    Latest update - car is running great, and I'm a bit embarrassed. So couldn't figure out the ticking noise, and I was scared it was a sticky lifter or the eccentric shaft not timed correctly. The planned second oil and filter change was done after 70kms of running, and the noise was still there. I went and saw Glenn at Botany Motor Worx and he quickly had it diagnosed. Using a stethoscope he could tell it wasn't a problem anywhere in the valve train. He located the ticking to an exhaust leak at the back of the motor. He let me listen through the stethoscope and taught me what to listen for - the guy is a legend. Needless to say I will be buying a stethoscope this weekend as its a very useful tool to have. Got it home and checked the torque on the exhaust manifold bolts (for the third time) and it all seemed correct, so I wondered if I had damaged the manifold gasket on install. And now for the embarrassing part. I took the vacuum pump off to check the seals as Glenn had also spotted an oil leak there. And it was then I noticed I had forgotten to install an engine plug in behind the vacuum pump, and that is where the exhaust leak was! I installed the plug, reinstalled the vacuum pump (with the o-ring correctly aligned this time) and fired it up. She runs beautifully! No smoke, and no funny noises. Took it on the motorway and kicked it in the nuts and it performed awesomely. So happy. Big thanks to Glenn.

    I have some e46 m sport wheels as of yesterday. The car needs quite a bit of work. It needs cooling system work and some panel beating work too haha. Not a bad deal though.

    Brain scan clear (MRI) Eye surgery successful and loss of vision halted for the time being 9 months of reflection and contemplation over and feeling fortunate. And a couple sneaky glasses of wine on a Friday evening reading bimmersport posts. Life is good .......... actually very good........
