  1. A few blemishes but not bad for $7,750 (auto), includes a spare wheel too... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3291571052
  2. Yes to subframe, probably not entirely necessary (?) but gives you more room to remove stuff. And consider whether you're going to remove the steering pump first, if you do you can drop the rack, reservoir and pump and leave it all together under the car.
  3. In general I'm a dissenter when it comes to public opinion on fluids so many will disagree with me but here you go... Coolant: any G28 coolant is fine, that's all the BMW stuff is, don't pay a premium. Oil: w30 is fine, w40 if you drive it hard occasionally. Objectively, in an Auckland climate where it never drops below freezing you want the smallest gap between the two viscosity numbers so 10w40 is better than 5w40 (for example). Always fully Synthetic and a reputable brand (Penrite is reputable). Brake fluid: I've only ever used Castrol Dot 4 and it's never failed me, even at track days although I hear from others that their SRF formula is very good. No idea on gearbox or trans. Good luck!
  4. Ahh, gotcha! Although I no longer "notice" mine it wears better than the rubberised plastic.
  5. Very good timeless examples, and I agree, the Z8 has comparative, natural beauty. That certain je ne sais quoi.
  6. I can't help but think the Z8 is the best looking BMW they've built in about 40 years... and in S62 guise it's just such an amazing proposition. It didn't live long enough IMHO and made now it would be ruined by tech, emissions, and safety. I imagine they're worth about a billion dollars now (hyperbole!). Edit: I realise the one pictured is modified with an S65 which is cool but I'd still prefer the S62 original.

It would be awesome if you could, it would reduce some ultimately unnecessary scrolling by 50%.
  8. ๐Ÿคจ je ne comprends pas? The one I linked to is genuine BMW, it's exactly the one I purchased, and they're not handed, the LHD and RHD steering wheels are exactly the same part, as are the fittings and accessories. If you like it, pull the trigger with confidence, even the product page says it's genuine BMW.
  9. Alcantara, 5 pieces in stock... and a surprisingly reasonable price. https://www.schmiedmann.com/en/product/1933133-new?product=32-30-0-430-403
  10. Doing much installing/removing of the e36 electric seats would probably qualify as body building!
  11. Autos aren't selling at much lower prices than that ^ one, whilst it's good to see a different colour I don't think there's anything particularly special about it that would demand the premium asking price,
  12. Hyperbole Jon, hyperbole. Ease off the literal interpretations, it's the internet after all. Even in real life people don't take me that seriously! ๐Ÿ˜‡

@E30 325i Rag-Top - actually, that's quite interesting... I'm a member of a number of Invision forums so I knew the option existed and looked for it here... that strike through option was most certainly not there when I made my post yesterday but it is there now for replies, whoever did that gets my thanks, sometimes it's better to leave evidence of previous remarks and strike through is helpful in those circumstances. ๐Ÿ‘ Now, if somebody could fix the broken "condensed" option as well that would be fab!

And that would be a first for Bimmersport.
  15. Mine's a little less IIRC but not a lot. The electric front seats weigh approximately 600kgs each.
  16. Auckland City BMW haven't contacted me in the 18 months since I registered for the heater line "safety" recall, very responsible of them. Did you receive a recall notice for your airbag(s)? I have not.

That makes it better, my bad. Not. (Edited my original post)

If that meant we were only left with responsible manufacturers and sellers that wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing. Yes, I know that's unrealistic, it was a quip rather than a serious proposition. Having said that, a skill test written into law that increased based on horsepower would get my approval. Sort-of like a graduated bike license. Arguably the same for my early cars... I suspect the drivers that fall into this category would be at each end of the $ spectrum. Kids chasing skids and adults who, for one reason or another, need to wear their wealth on their sleeves.

So two quarter million dollar M6's written off in a matter of months? ๐Ÿ˜ฒ People shouldn't be able to own cars they're not qualified to drive. Edited: one wasn't NZ new and we apparently can't do strike-through text here, probably another hidden forum rule Clearly not true - Admin.

    Quick Questions

Near you (I think), give Stevenson Aggregate in Drury a call tomorrow, they used to do it for a tenner and was very accurate. Otherwise yeah, a tip, I think they'll be +/- 2kg ish (or else what's the point) which is probably good enough. Other thought, an alignment shop like Racealign which can corner weight a vehicle but that will be many $$$ more than a simple weight measurement.
  21. That's strong money, good result for the seller. I wonder what people who pay this sort of money for one of these plan to do with them.
  22. I disagree. I'd never buy off-brand tyres myself but that doesn't mean they're inadequate for what most people might need, paying for more tyre than you need is pointless and 99.9% of people will never explore the limits of even very basic tyres. Book, cover, judge and all. Cable ties? And you're complaining about new tyres! ๐Ÿ˜‚ Kidding (a little bit), that does look like a convenient setup if you're you need to get in there frequently but it's hella expensive for what it is, I hope it's not made in China. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. Was it a classified? I thought the price/reserve was $6.5? The brand of tyres are immaterial to the upkeep of maintenance. The Dragon Sports I had on the 328 were about $115 a corner and were perfectly adequate for what they were (if not noisy and hard). I have to admit to conflating the maintenance description of two different cars though, my bad, I thought this had more listed than shocks + tyres. But hey, that's $600+ you don't have to spend over the next few years assuming you're not expecting a race car.
  24. Wow, well that's how you sell a 130 quickly, price it properly. Did anyone here buy it? Moderate km's and apparently well maintained too. So, that probably creates a benchmark price of about 7k for an LCI auto which might make a manual ~9k.
  25. $6.5k for a decent looking LCI auto... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/listing/3275178762 That seems perfectly reasonable to me if you're looking for an auto and can travel north.
