I think more essential than normal! Have you seen all the morons on the road??? It's seems they're ALL still driving around, at speed, while all the normal drivers stay home! Travelling home one afternoon last week, in 3 separate incidents; I was nearly hit twice and the the car in front of me had to take evasive action... and I only saw 12 cars the whole 10 km trip! And 5AM seems to be the time for 100km in 50 zones and not stopping for red lights... and there was only 3 cars the whole trip that day!

Just like lead-free solder!

It's not an unusual milage for them to need big end bearings done. It's just they left it one drive too many! The trick is to preventatively replace them BEFORE the crank gets damaged - waiting until now that it is too late possibly makes it a MASSIVE ballache job, instead of just a big expensive job.

I think that went through Manheim Damaged Auction recently? had "engine issues?" from memory. I bet the crank is really cheap ECS has re-mans for US$3861.43

He purchased the car with the Valiant motor already in it, but the car had been crashed decades ago. The body is basically brand new now, all straight, new panels and painted nicely everywhere. It's a real credit to him - mostly done in the (massive) garage at home.

One of my neighbours has had quite a few of these over the years - I think he's only got one left now, but had 3 at one time. The current one was a 1970's racecar, with a Valiant slant 6 in it! The Austin motor sounded nicer though. He also had a Valiant Charger that looked like new, a couple of "Rover" RV8's, an MGB convertible, I think there was an MGC at one point and at least 5 different Healeys at various times. They REALLY are stunning cars, more so in the flesh, too!

I've gotten a few parts from Trodo.com recently: Mostly smaller stuff, but the wiper blades on my Touran are 750mm long, two sets of those in Bosch Aerotwin, plus 2 rears and a pair of Stabilus 2 stage boot struts came in for less than the buying the struts here π€£ Took 7 days, I think. Also a pair of heavy Tiguan towing springs and the shipping was 58 euros and I could have added more for the same shipping cost. The pair of springs ended up being NZ$210 delivered, for quality springs I cant even buy here... unless I special order genuine from VW... and VW prices make BMW look cheap!

Govt Breathes New Life Into "Clean Car" Legislation

A new MG?... the "reputation" of a British car and the build quality of a Chinese one... Better than the other way around, actually π€£ -

P.S. I like how BOTH car are parked in the driveway, charging π

Also... if its raining when you weld up my muffler, I'll be able to stay dry while I watch you do all the work! π€£

They actually charge you a year at a time and charge in advance. If you pay monthly, they are financing you (and charge interst, FYI!). If you look at the monthly payments vs the annual, there is extra charges for monthly payments. I just pay mine annually, because I'm tight! π€£ Technically, they are correct to charge the additional payments... because you have insured the car for the whole year at a time... but it's really just good planning on their part to minimise their loss! π

Excuse me! It's a Bosch! A german one! I stopped buying F&P years ago, when it took them 18 months to replace my stove, and the brand new one was faulty too - Never buy F&P crap again π I just built brand new front struts for the R32ran in the dining room this week though. She didn't even roll her eyes π

You can buy ALL the parts now!

^^^ Actual swear words??? π€£ I fitted the TPMS reset switch to Moniques Touran, after she had a puncture repaired... ...the switch doesn't work!π‘ I didn't actually swear though - I just cracked open my keg of Rum π€ͺ

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

It that rust on a South African built car? They suffer from rust in the weirdest of places! -
I've got four of this style... although 2 are dads. His 2 were in professional use for about 50 years, then my brofessional use for the last 20 years and I trust them with my life regularly. I'm SO over chinese sh*t... It's so rarely worth the cost, even though it's "low". I wouldn't go as far as buying an English car... but my Toaster, Cooker and vacuum cleaner are all British made by low-standing old companies and have all the parts available for purchase and have been built to be repairable. Granted, combined, they cost more than my car... but you only have the capital outlay once! Research... then pay decent money, get a decent product and get on with life - you'll soon forget the extra you paid, when things just work, are easily fixed, or just DON'T try to kill you...

I'm pretty sure that ANY capacity increase requires a cert anyway - regardless of power output.

SMG would automatically rule me out... See what I did there? π€£
