Like a modern day muscle car. Only good in a straight line.
-
Better, as in more expensive?
-
If you mean the thrust arms can be twisted a bit by hand then that’s normal. I can do that to my ones and i’ve just replaced the bushes about 2 weeks ago.
-
Yeah that’s if being fussy. Get an M5 steering box with servotronic. Wouldn’t be gutted.

Keep the original sump and modify an e39 v8 subframe?
-
I think also if it’s true m-tech the chassis id will be wbs.... compared to wba..... ??? Could be wrong?

New rear lower bumper trim to tidy up the appearance followed by a bath.

And what about the steaming pile of ....American cars ? -
The Hilman Avenger has a special place in my heart. Bought a pretty tidy one for $350 back in 2006 with some mates and spent a few weekends trying to kill it on a paddock. It had a fresh 1600 in it and was a 4-speed manual, good for donuts in top gear on the grass, probably all day. The only issues we really had were the engine mounts breaking. We fixed that by stropping the engine in place. In hindsight I would have loved to have restored it, but being a young early 20 something idiot back then, it was decided that paddock bashing was a better idea.

I can confirm it has an operational LSD.
-
Nice, i can see the appeal for giving it a new lease of life.

Anyway nice car, is it manual ?
-
But ‘99 MY cars with pre-fl lights came with your same front bumper sans the front pdc.
-
Fl : headlights and tail lights pre fl : front bumper (these were offered on pre fl m-tech spec’d cars) Also rear bumper, no change for fl/pre fl. The rear acs lip, spoiler and mirrors are acs specific. Does the front pdc actually work? If so that’s a fl feature afaik. Is it manual?

The thread is actually about the i8 which is a hybrid vehicle.

I think what we're trying to do in the nicest way possible.... is to go and preach your EV praise on the appropriate forum.
-
Yes we've all watched the P100D take down a V8 super car or the latest AMG E class in a drag race. That's not the point. The point is with an ICE you have so much more character in the WAY it delivers the power and torque. And I don't think artificial engine sounds will ever compare to the true sound.
-
Ummm not if you like the sound of an ICE and the character of its power delivery. Electric power is just one step further away from what an engaging drivers car is all about imo. They cater for the masses who see cars as a means of transport. The tree huggers are also kept happy. What a sad future.

Any Pics of them on the e34 ACS ? -
Wow very nice e34. Although that car in the stanceworks pic would handle like a wheel barrow. Looks like it's setup for a nascar race?

Blew the cobwebs out from daily driver duties up on some Northland roads and caught up with @DC3
