  1. You can buy portable stage smoke machines for about 40-60bux which do the trick as well when combined with some suitable piping.
  2. Good and bad depending what side of the fence you're on, lots of iconic cars now commanding money-no-object collector prices. Other Examples.. - Air-cooled Porsches - Honda NS-X - Subaru Imprezza 22b
  3. Could be a slight breach of the head gaskets, compression and leakage tests??
  4. Roadtrip to Tongariro at Sparrows fart for 8 hours of torture, aka the Alpine Crossing. Some great driving roads on the way. Managed to get 10.7 l/100km before i got bored and started hooning when i got past Otorohonga.
  5. No msport bits either which is what the majority want.
  6. Yeah although it was hard work dealing with people on Facebook marketplace it paid off.
  7. With the purchase of a house and other commitments unfortunately our 2kcup aspirations have taken a back seat. The good. New radiator, tstat, waterpump, battery and good used alternator and fan clutch. The front brake hoses were replaced and hi temp brake fluid put in. It's wof'd until June and rego expires July. 17" wheels with heaps of tread on the 235 tyres. It has the jatco jerk otherwise it's a good reliable daily runner. The bad. Paint is rough, interior door cards are missing cloth trim inserts and the sunroof doesn't work but not leaking. I am asking 1750 but will take 1500 firm for Bimmersporters.
  8. Hipsters these days and their dress sense.....
  9. And another clip of me being a bit too keen with the throttle.....
  10. Mowed the lawns on a paddock today with it...
  11. Pm me and i can give you a contact in Chch that i used to fix my cluster.
  12. 1. It depends on what needs doing, it's a 15 year old E39. The vibration would need more investigation. Assuming that is minor and maybe needs at most an inspection 2 type of servuce i'd say late 20's. 2. Low teens to early 40's. 3. Niggly electro-mechanical stuff goes wrong with vanos. The engine is actually pretty reliable for what was a masterpiece in its day. I'd say what mainly goes wrong is stuff associated with a heavy 15 year old e39 - Suspension, tyres, drivetrain. You can easily spend 10k plus fixing issues if you're wanting to keep it mint.
  13. After owning 2 e39 M5's with and without cats, I'd definitely choose cats. The smell at times gets in the cabin and it's not pleasant.
  14. If the broken pieces of bumper have been pushed in behind it and resting above the lower belly pan it should be able to be repaired with some plastic welding.
  15. Nice! Looking forward to the build thread
  16. I used kiwishipping to bring a couple of clutch and flywheel sets about 2 years ago. Took about 9 weeks to get to my door.
  17. I've used this company before for 1 hour of troubleshooting on the dyno before. They also hosted a bimmersport dyno day back in 2014 for us. People seem to think dynos are just for checking Max Power and torque output or for tuning. They're also a useful troubleshooting tool. http://www.mcrautomotive.co.nz/ I paid $85 + gst for 1 hour of time.
  18. Maybe best to log it on a dyno? An hours worth of time on one could be a lot cheaper than a court hearing...
  19. Mine works. Used a 2degrees pre pay sim, setup call forwarding on my cellphone to the car phone and use the built in handsfree... Or the brick
