Dynatron alarms and their funny antics.. Got one in my wrx that now will only activate or deactivate after you have opened a door. And the immobiliser will now kill the engine after 5 secs of closing the door.

Bmworkshop greylynn are good too. -
There’s a handful of them. Be cool to convert one to M5 spec and supercharge it.

Still not over the M5 and it’s coming up 6 years of ownership. Wouldn’t mind having a drive of the current M3/M4 to help convince myself new cars are great.

There’s been some great adoptions made from the Haldex idea too. The AYC in the mid 90’s onwards mitsu evo’s was one of my favs -
Be amazed at what fits in an e36 coupe with a bit of tetris know-how

Paint Protective Film, Ceramic Coating, etc
BreakMyWindow replied to BlackrazorNZ's topic in Appearance
If keeping and doing lots of open road driving it’s worth it imo. It’s hard to believe that this protection stuff stops/prevents damage from sharp pieces of stone flying at high speed in to paint work though. -
Yep that’s common.

Sounds good - A group of us on here are heading down

Kind of agree with you there.. But not everyone is a Savvy online marketer. Some people prefer the phone call, and some people prefer good old fashioned face to face. They oblige to using Trademe because you can’t argue with the sheer numbers viewing that website. There are people out there genuinely trying to sabotage people’s sales, Facebook is s classic example. It’s like it’s a sport now to hunt for “Ya dreamin mate” things for sale or “Hmm that’s too cheap, must be a statutory write off.”

Can vouch for overheating longevity too. Drove the e36 with a blown waterpump for 45 mins with no issues once the waterpump was replaced.

I’ve found Schmiedmann to be consistently cheaper, even with the 2% credit card surcharge then any of the American big name parts places, i.e fcp, pelican, ecs etc.

Checked the steering box and front subframe bolts? My old 540i had a random clonk and it turned out to be a loose steering box mounting bolt.

My 2c... Depends when fully cured if it remains a lower density on the inside whilst keeping a higher density “skin” then it’s more like a foam, if it’s density is high through out then it’s more an epoxy.... Think of 2 part epoxy glue when cured... high density throughout when fully cured...Suspect it’s the latter as if it were to remain ‘soft’ on the inside whilst ‘hard skinned’ when injected in between the plates it would still allow them to deflect which in turn does nothing to prevent the spot welds from failing causing the cracks. The term structural foam i think was derrived from poorly translated German to English and made popular by American E46’ers.

Depends if u diy the chain guides job. Paying someone for it is probably around 2-4k it’s a big job. The chain cover gaskets were done however which seems odd as at that point you’re over half way to replacing guides and chains etc.

i’d say timing chain guides will need doing pretty soon.
