  1. In mint condition. No broken tabs and these fit perfectly with no gaps or issues with them popping loose. $70
  2. Gave the M5 a service this morning including : -Engine oil and filter -Engine air and cabin filters -PS Reservoir rubber mounts -Boot struts -Switched back to oem chrome front grilles Angle of the camera shot makes it look like the M5 is on the piss but it's not
  3. If they're not leaking there's no reason to. The solenoid packs are easy to get to with just removing the intake pipes connecting to the manifold.
  4. Any one have a pair? Can do a swap for a 10w LED bulb kit.
  5. Wonder if the current generation of drake bashing chain smokers will be of the same opinion of current pop music in 30 years time? I love alt music, even without vox is fine as long as the intstruments are sounding interesting. Any King Crimson and The Melvins fans?
  6. Pour some water over the window and check that it drains out via the drain hole in the lower corner of the door. if it does then your door gaskets are fine, if not you should see water running down between the door card and the lower inner part of the painted door. if this is the case then it's time to entirely remove the door gasket sealant and apply new sealant - I wouldn't use silicone as it will be a pig of a job when the rear window regulators eventually need replacing.
  7. If it's not tired I reckon that's a reasonable price. A lot of V12 for the money.
  8. Mechanical sympathy and a generous wallet is the key.
  9. Definitely needs a cert if it's been converted though. It's the changes to the brake pedal system which causes it.
  10. I started a collection last year of M5's. The Ottomobile brand models are pretty nicely done. The e39 I have has a fair bit of orange peel in the paint finish so would like to wet sand and polish it up.
  11. I thought all e36 coupes left the factory with M sport suspension?
  12. W210 had a bad reputation for rust as well. But probably nothing to worry about for this example.
  13. Indeed they are. The active seats were an e38 option I think. This car also looks to have been used for Photo shoots. Individual spec data is protected. 14. Your mind seems to be in Toyota Corolla mode. You have to consider that these cars in their day were considered sophisticated and high performance. Expensive repair bills and high performance cars are synonymous and often the purchase price on one of these cars is the cheapest part about them.
  15. The TU variant is designed to give better fuel economy and makes more torque in the low to mid range.
  16. Great engines, not many car engines in 1998 that made 400nm @ 1300rpm thanks to it's vanos system. It's not a case of lottery, it's a case of having the funds available when the chain guides start breaking off and falling down in to the sump. I found a piece of guide in the cylinder head, next to one of the cams of my old 540i when they let go. If you plan on keeping the car for a long time, do the guides and cooling system, then imo you're good for another 200+ k kms engine wise.
  17. The active seats are a nice touch. In chainguides territory though.
  18. Keen on a swap or after $1100. The plate is in Mint condition. Cheers.
  19. Something to be mindful of for the rear suspension....Standard MtechII rear springs on your car are progressive and are longer than MtechI springs. The spring perch is fixed lower on the MtechII shocks to compensate for the length. Bilstein (HD) shocks used with the MtechII springs results in a harsh, and jacked up in the rear end ride due to perch length. Koni rebound adjustables are better, but the best imo if using standard MtechII springs are the OEM or Sachs ones - I do believe they have rear shocks suitable for the MtechII springs, you might need to do some googling to get the measurement of the distance between the rear shocks lower mounting hole and the spring perch and compare with OEM.
  20. Nice colour, similar to Sienna Red Metallic. Really pops under direct light in to a copper kind of colour.
  21. Very nice Ray, hopefully a fair few kw's released with after some dyno tuning. Are you still running the stock e39 m5 cats on 8M3 ? Some information here about before an after using Evolve's take on tuned length headers and some DME tweaks : http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39-m5-e52-z8-discussion/306729-evolve-medusa-headers-vs-stock-headers-pictures.html
  22. You spelled ditchfinder tyres wrong.
  23. All nz-new cars I've done a vin decoder check on have had 'National version Australia' in their spec sheets. LeMans Blue is slightly darker :
