  1. My guess is that it's suffered some damage underneath that would need pulling, drilling, welding etc etc. It would fully buff out in Russia though..
  2. Nice to see an e39 M not in Black or Silver for a change!

    Airbag recalls

Is there a way to check if an airbag is apart of the recall without having the vin of the car? I.e part numbers on the airbag unit. My prefacelift M5 was fitted with a facelift M5 steering wheel from an 03 M5, but the airbag came from another car, possibly e46 or e39 that is included in the recall.
  4. Do the touring e46 chassis suffer the same issues with spot welds popping and floor cracks as the coupes and sedans?
  5. Finally fixed the engine rattle. A lifter was either dry or getting blocked under certain conditions i.e high engine load. On cold start it would occasionally chatter for a couple of seconds. It seems two oil and filter changes in 12,000kms has cured it. No more rattle or cold start lifter tick. Now to fix low speed brake squeal
  6. Inspiration for Joole's and my 2kcup car right here in this thread.
  7. Sounds like a plan! Will be in touch Dave. ??
  8. Don't think either of those AMG's would destroy the B5. Maybe be a car length or 2 in a standing km race but that's about it. Edit: Well the B5 actually had a few car lengths in this race against the Supercharged e55 And then a cls63 bi turbo in this race beats the B5.
  9. That's a fair few escaped horses. Sounds like the 2 hub dyno runs were done in dissimilar environments. Roller dynos always seem to read lower than hubs.
  10. Dismantled the intake side of the engine which sadly is a m50b20tu block with m52b25 manifolds, injector rail, dme, maf etc. I think how we've ended up with this frankenstein fail motor is because the original m52 overheated, so an m50 block and head was installed in place. Engine numbers below confirm it's an m50 cast iron block : The head has an extra coolant temp sensor with no plug for it which according to realoem is the m50b20tu head. Got a wee shopping list of gaskets and hoses to fix some vacuum leaks. If it's easy enough we might just flash the m52b25 dme to become an m52b20 manual as there isn't really much difference between the engine setup we have and an actual m52b20. One day we'll empty the boot out.. We also need the Shifter arms from a 220 box e36 6cyl as the ones we have are from a 4cyl. If anyone can help us that would be awesome. Not too keen to shorten the ones we have as we want the manual conversion to look as factory as possible.
  11. There's also over 200nm or torque with the B5. Engine is based on the N62 motor, which is a bit of a lemon.
  12. Not to mention the eye watering price of a new Super Charger.
  13. Awesome car! Considered trading the M5 for this.
  14. After a m52b2x oil dip stick tube (with return tube for the oil separator) and also an oil separator for the same engine.
  15. The 318is donor Jooles and i bought had 2x style 32's on it when we handed it over to Brent at BM world. Ping him if you're still after them.
  16. Fahrwerk = Suspension, Shocks n Springs.
  17. Went had a look at it. Interior stinks of fresh paint which has been applied in really thick coats over all the damage. Aside from that it's reasonably tidy with usual scuffs and marks for a 16yo car. Wheels have been re painted silver at some stage and Service history is mostly complete. The vanos solenoids have been fixed.
