I'm still having flashbacks to seeing your car at the ECC meet. I really want a set of wood trim like yours. I've had a look around and it doesn't seem to be a common option for that color.
-
Any progress Eli? Are we going to see it on the 21st????
-
Oh bugger. Theres nothing worse than opening a long awaited package and discovering the part inside is not what you wanted. High to low in 0 secs.
-
Where did you source the lower cowl? This is something I need to replace on the 740i. Nice work by the way.

TM question. lets see if I get a reply. I wont hold my breath. It would seem this car magically grew 2 more cylinders. Aren't these pics of the 528i you had for sale a not long ago? only then you had pics of the 6 cylinder engine as well. When will you post up pics of this 540i you have for sale?
-
Wasn't it originally listed as a 530i Msport? Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Awesome. Perfect daily driver.

Nice looking Bimmer. Welcome to the forums.

Hi Paul and welcome back. Very nice find. Luv the color on that one. Theres a bunch of guys traveling up from Wellington for the Shannon car show. I'm going to travel over from Wanganui. Should be a good day with a drive over the saddle to Woodville for lunch. Would be a nice drive in your M3. http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/54999-wellington-road-trip-to-supercheap-auto-car-show-shannon-sun-21-feb/

Hi Dave. Welcome to the forum and post up some pics when you can.
-
I must have done something really wrong because I got the 01 internal control module fault. It stops you from clearing all the codes and the only way to fix it is replace the module. I was lucky enough to know of a car being wrecked that was the same year and had the same number of airbags.
-
Replaced the SRS airbag module and cleared codes. Yayyyy. All went as it should and I now have no airbag warning light. Lesson learned. Disconnect the battery before removing or unplugging an airbag.
-
I want it. Was it a manual Brent? Seriously toying with the idea of selling the 750i and trying to find a E34 540i manual.
-
Very nice car. I may be a wee bit jealous.. Welcome to the forum.
-
Thats nice. More realistically priced and he's added some more pics. For a L7 theres not a lot going on in the back though. Still. Very nice clean example. I do want..lol
-
Thats wicked. Saw them use one on a fishing show. Adds a whole other level of fun to fishing..ha ha

Nice looking 320. Enjoy your drive home. Are you going to have it in time for the Shannon car show? http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/54999-wellington-road-trip-to-supercheap-auto-car-show-shannon-sun-21-feb/

Knowing how much you wanted this car I'm hoping that the "interesting opportunity" you mentioned is BMW related.. GLWS
-
I'd luv this set up but when I called Woolf Mufflers they couldn't remember what they'd done to it. Same car.

When I searched W222 I came up with these. Not to my tastes at all. The one you posted however is much better. My tastes tend more to the older cars..
-
Like I said earlier. A car has to look good as well as perform. I'm sure the W222 performs well but god damn thats ugly. Every time I walk out to the work car park and see the E38 I marvel at its lines. That merc would make me cringe..lol
-
I dunno. Just had a look at the W220 and I'm just not feeling it. But thats just me. I can see how it might appeal to others though.
-
Thats true. But sometimes you want a car to look good as well as go fast. The E38 might not be the fastest but IMO it's got the looks covered.. The Merc just looks
-
^^ Then the 750i just squeaks in at 159.7 bhp per tonne.

Thrashed it. Took the 750i for a long drive to my sisters today. She's about 40mins out into the country on deserted roads with tons of hills and corners. I know this road like the back of my hand and as I haven't been comfortable driving the 750i as hard as I would the 740i I decided to find my limits in the car. All I can say is WOW. Turn on the S/EDC, put in Sport mode and gradually pushed myself and the car. The torque from the V12 just eats up the hills and surprisingly(to me) it cornered well too.Stinking hot day so super sticky tar might have helped a bit..lol The harder I pushed it the more planted it felt. Probably the fasted trip I've made out to my sisters. I'm going to have to do something to increase the volume/noise of the exhaust though. Would've been nice to hear the V12 roaring through the hills.
