  1. As description, or complete unit.
  2. One of the biggest scams around was meth testing and percieved fear that went with it! Hundreds of homes, relined, internal walls, gib etc! Residual cigarette smoke was tested more toxic, sitting in peak hour traffic is worse! Great news you have your car back, put the energy into the diagnostic health of engine and running gear.
  3. Yes, many a tyre ( some new) have worn to steel belts, in the short drive to alignment shop after this mod! Good work Peter.
  4. I find it differcult to understand the percieved gain and over the top cost in a manual converstion of a 230 odd hp torque based motor.
  5. Nice car John, with sensible high grade bang for buck mods and upgrades. Good luck with sale.
  6. Gavin at Euro/ italian on North Shore may have somethimg, gives discount to Bimmers.
  7. Got one of these before Xmas on TM. Was just over $300, set up for BMW/MINI Seems to work well and fairly fast, certainly not a pro workshop tool, but for home, is great.
  8. Would be in the vicinity of NZ$550 to your door for front end TRW M3, 5 piece upgrade package.
  9. Got mine from FCP, along with engine and E28 trans mounts, which are same as E series M3. Night and day difference in steering feel and handling.
  10. Smat, has certainly declared his interest!
  11. N54 was voted engine of the year for 3 years running i think. Was a test bed for BMW into the turbo six mix for the M cars. Issues with ancillary reliability, fuel pumps, injection, turbo rattle etc. But, what a motor! Can't recall driving a car so wanting to make power, in all rev ranges. The rotating mass is built proof and head/ valve function not far behind. Way, way slower car in a straight line with a manual transmission, but if drifting or tracking, maybe some gains.
  12. New 2.5in stainless cats with oval flanges and gaskets. Flow to 6ltr and 500hp. Ideal for 6 and 8 cyl. $70 ea, $120 pr
  13. Downloaded and flashed my MHD 1+ tuned E91 with XHPs newly released dragy mode for 6hp transmissions, partnered with a refresh of stage 2 XHP trans tune. Have had couple of days to drive and settle everything in, just back now after a few spirited runs. Wow! So much more response in sport/ manual mode and stock smooth like in D. 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th shifts at around 5500 rpms are so fast and seamless, almost seems like one continuous ratio! Way way more pull, feels like this is what was missing at this power level, no dips at all, very smooth up and down in manual and sports mode. Any one else had a look?
  14. My wife's X3 N52 has same noise, is the fuel system evacuation purge valve solenoid. The operation at idle is normal, the noise is from valve wear and should not be audible from inside vehicle. Removing solenoid plug while car is running will/ should cease the sound. Not a major fix or cost for new valve unit. As Glenn rightly says, have full scan and check over before proceeding.
  15. Very dodgy and dangerous indeed! Spring needs a lot of even level pressure to compress enough to get nut on shock shaft. Not possible really with screw type equipment, springs very differcult to compress. Accident waiting to happen, as Adro mentioned.
  16. Those wheels? Would struggle to look good on a trailer, imo.
  17. Think same or similar to N54, got VDO unit and thermo from FCP, was around $500NZ to my door.
  18. A 40 amp fuse is like welding wire! A fire at that amp load is very possible. Most likely a motor short in pump, would suggest a auto electrical trace of circuit by a specialist, to much can go wrong here!
  19. Either the same seller for grey and pink cars or the money spent on them has made partners leave, as can be picked up in the many descriptions begining with "she".
  20. I'm on 75% was from the start. Takes a few days to get used to the slight pressure and go, but like it a lot, won't move values from this setting. Certainly in manual shift mode as stated, there is a slight shift change, more of a firmer snappy feel, which to me in manual mode is ideal. No change detected in D or S mode.
  21. Lol! Around 2 ton with 230hp and you would want it manual.
  22. Guy on trade me, has/had a couple of near new sets, with tyres, have purchased wheels from him, in Otahuhu.
  23. Best bang for buck for my E91, along side 8.5- 9.5 front/ rear wheels was the E92M3 TRW front torsion strut/ lower control arm upgrade. Once aligned, night and day difference to steering feel and corner turn in.
  24. I'm sure quite a few here would remember the beautifully converted E30 in England with the V10 S85 somehow squeezed in, not overstated, but stood out, the sound was amazing! Was up around 600 hp, which to me is perfect for the effort. Lots of you tube vids of roll racing on old airfields, this thing dealt to a lot of top tier cars. Was maybe 7+ years ago.
