Well done, very good choice.

It would be a reasonable motor to put in an E46 GTR replica, and certainly in keeping with the original concept. Plus a lot cheaper than P60 motor. Are you thinking of a road car or race car for this replica..?

Trying to cash into the die hards that won’t give up on manuals. Even though it would be slower 0-100 and less economical as a manual… And yep it’s a pretty weird spec, no M Sport kit and old man beige interior so a real odd ball combination. Some UK dealer probably had to cut it loose and it ended up here.

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

Who is this seller??, I need to meet him and find out what other goodies he has, very tempted by some of those wheels.. -
@M3AN I think your inbox is full, trying to message you.

I think you have added an extra “s” on to the end of the name, the oil is not linked to the Aussie racing series of a similar name AFAIK.

At least it has got a cert so can get a proper WoF, which is much more than many hori-fied E30s that come up for sale at silly prices. Again, it’s got little problems which can be easy fixed with a little time and little $$s, then sold with a new WoF to justify the price. Seems very odd to me. -
Doesn’t say if the camera is still included, could be a nice money making scheme for someone if it is…-

Yeah, that’s what it looks like to me. It’s really only shill bidding if there is someone else that is counter bidding, and therefore having their bid pushed up.

Yeah, with total borrowing of 195k against them, and then the GFC hit and they were a 150k house with a 25k car and 194k owing against them... whoops! At least if you spend the money on an E30 you know it's a solid investment right...?? Every time I get caught bringing more parts into the house I always justify it by saying they are an investment in precious metals... especially the E30 M3 bits. -

Simple, re-mortgage the house to utilise the increased equity and spend that on an E30..!! Reminds me of the early ‘00s in the UK when lots of people were doing that to buy new cars, great investment - not!! -

I've just re-read the first post on this thread, from all the way back in July 2019, a whole two years and three months ago, where @Blackie had linked it for a new member. A FL manual 325i coupe with M-Tech bodykit (can't remember if a genuine M325i) for a whopping $15k. If one were listed for that price now then the seller would get trampled in the rush of buyers. Market price would be near double that now I would suggest, (or waaaay above if was an M325i) pretty good returns for anyone that bought an E30 as an investment back then. Conflicted views on that as I'm not keen on "our" cars being turned into investment items that drive the enthusiasts out of the market, but on the other hand makes mine worth more - not that I would ever sell them. -
Tidy, 325i ‘vert at Eastern Beach Sunday arvo. I didn’t notice the young lady in the drivers seat until after the photo. If you’re on here - sorry if I seemed a bit stalky! 🤦🏻

Removal of any “emissions system” covers it I believe.
-
There are on-going discussions and submissions as to what form the test will take. A lot of the Scheme has been cut & paste from overseas (UK) so it wouldn’t surprise me if the test were similar.

I wish! It’s a 330e PHEV for now, although I am hoping to get a drive of an iX next week as the first one’s are arriving. There’s already a pretty long list of customers waiting for their cars so it may be some time before they are available for fleet cars.

Just a quick FYI, with the introduction of the Clean Car Scheme there is going to be much more focus on emissions of all vehicles, even before a proper emissions test is introduced into the WoF. As Gaz has said above the removal of the AdBlue system is technically a WoF fail, most would have got away with it previously but it could be noticed with the new focus.

Got a new work whip, so I am now officially saving the planet one commute at a time! Lots more work on the ‘vert ordered lots of new nuts, bolts and brackets for the exhaust these are starting to arrive. Pulled out all the heat shields to give them a clean and get all the stones and dirt out from behind them. Good to be putting bits back on now. As per usual I have decided on far too many (while I’m in there) jobs and got bits everywhere, pulled the front struts apart to change the springs over to Kings and stripped, cleaned and re-packed both front hubs at same time. Hopfully get it all back together before summer has finished 😂😂

Welcome - lots of love on here for the E30 and quite a few places around Auckland that know their way around them as well.

Yeah, sorry, I didn’t put that very well - would be better to say I’m surprised someone is prepared to pay that money for a car with basic faults. I’ve always been wary - if someone’s not bothered to fix the easy stuff, what else have they “put up with..”? -

Wow, that’s getting up there. Looks a very decent car, but I struggle with the fact that three basic faults, odo gears, radio and pad wear sensor haven’t been sorted for that kind of money. -
Not sure, an E30 on standard springs looks like a startled cat, could be the originals that have sagged a bit over time as the ‘vert is a bit of a lardarse. Another one I will be watching intently, for valuation purposes.

Exactly, there is a process you should go through when bringing a car back from storage. Especially after 20 years!! The photos of the tyres made me grin - at least 20 years old fit for nothing but the bin. Will be interesting to see what it goes for, aka is someone else going to bid more than I want to pay for it..?

Sourced from BMW Classic on Instagram again, too cool not to share 😎
