I ran the Vin a while back as i thought it wasnt a real M5 either (found it hard to believe an M5 would sound that bad), but the Vin confirmed its legit.

Sounds good at idle, high pitched, ugly and raspy the moment the throttle is touched. Not my cuppa, but each to their own. This is more my thing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-mtIHAweo4

Just putting it out there, but i do not like the sound of the V10 M5s..... give me an e39 M5 any day. Theres a white E60 M5 around town that i see quite often, sounds poo.

To the owner of the White 2002 rego KH6221 i saw this evening on Taranaki St.... Your car is gorgeous, well done Oh, and your reverse lights are constantly on with your tail lights. All you see is white light (over powers both tail and brake lights).

Thats a gorgeous car, exactly what ill be looking to buy in a few years. FYI, 23/10/02 build. Pretty nice option list too. http://www.bmwarchive.org/vin/jr05069.pdf

BTW, straight from the WOF manual. I dont know if the plates and tags have been swapped from the iS onto the iA body as this thread hasnt made this clear, but if they have the above would confirm it is illegal unless done by an authorised person. I know someone brought up the Dakar M3 that was rebodied; the difference with the was that it was still a 318i, the tags had not been swapped, but it had been certified for all modifications (which is legal). If youre swapping plates and tags from one car to another; no matter what the car is, or what your reasons are, unless its done legally you are no better than young Johnny with his totes wikd dirft Cefiro.

Is it a coincidence that he is also selling an Auto from a 94 E34 540i? E: nope, not a coincidence, looks like it was converted by HellBM. He also mentioned "reshelled", would be interested to know the VIN.

Loving the new look, the old look was VERY dated by comparison. Well done everyone involved.

A pretty good reason to get your PPI done with a reputable garage!
KwS replied to cliffdunedin's topic in News
This is bullshit, not all jap imports are dodgy lumps of crap. Ive owned a couple of NZ new cars, with and without FSH (yes, there are a lot of NZ New owners that dont care for proper servicing or paperwork) that have been terrible troublesome cars yet i have owned many jap imports that were immaculate and gave no troubles. FSH doesnt mean a huge amount in NZ imo, people will still cut corners where possible. The issue here is the buyer took the car sight unseen, and the garage that did the PPI did a bad job of it. Buyer beware etc. Could have happened with an NZ New car with FSH (as it did with the last E39 i got a BMW PPI on, NZ New, had FSH but still had a full a4 page of issues so i walked away). -
Need these gone, just taking up space in my garage. $100 ono.

Yeah, Chorus are terrible. The work they do is great, very impressive, but the time frame and lack on contact sucked. Im on the 30/10 plan, and this is what im getting ATM. Very good really. Would be interesting to see how close to 100 i'd get if i changed plan.

I got it installed recently, provided by Snap.net.nz. Chrous were a nightmare. We live down a shared driveway, and when i signed up on the 3rd of Feb we were told 8 weeks MAX. It finally got installed 20th June. No communication from Chorus at all, despite my many attempts to get updates from them. It was a bit more complicated as we decided to run conduit to my landlords place next door at the same time to save doing it later, but we were the only house getting the fibre connection (fibre cable can be blown down the conduit later). Other than that, they bored under the drive way, made a small trench at the end of the drive to split the conduit to both places, and then bored more to get it to both places. Very tidy install, rather impressive really, but the time it took makes me wonder if it was all worth it in the end. Snap were good through out the whole process and set us up with temp ADSL in the mean time, but only after a month of no internet at all.

There are a ton of much better condition Ti's out there in the market, i would start with one of them if you are intending to spend money on things like manual conversions. Starting with a rough one is going to just keep costing you money getting it to a decent standard.

Gosh its a nice looking car aint it? All i know is that Fast Fours dont have a very good rep and the M3 is probably above the average lending amount of their clients.
