  1. Jebus, thats way over priced for the KM. You see them regularly pop up for under 30k, like this one, https://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-1658090791.htm?rsqid=58e050e9557745fca84c5d97b107957c has a warranty even (even if it doesnt say how long).
  2. Congrats, hope we get to see more of it on the forum!
  3. The biggest problem is just how easy it is to become a registered car dealer, hence the increase in backyard "i work out of a shed to keep your costs lower" shady "dealers", with little to no accountability. The bigger dealers have their reputation to uphold, but there is nothing to stop these backyard dealers closing up shop in one name, starting a new name and selling the same old sh*t.
  4. If the car was running fine at the time of sale, why would they? Its not like they have a whole bunch of diagnostic scanners sitting around to find/make problems with cars they are selling, not to mention that if they can get away with selling a car thats running fine, without fixing a potential "historic" fault code, they will. I think car dealers are scum, but you guys have an even more unrealistic view of them than i do.
  5. It says in the listing its not certed, but "done to cert standards" whatever that means

    $50k F10 M5

Depends on the car and situation imo. Something like that, where anyone could've bid, and its not really that special, go for gold on making a profit. But it sucks when someone looking to make a buck (ie: a car dealer) on an uncommon car snipes out legit people that would own and enjoy the car, just to flick it on for more and put it out of the grasp of the people that actually want it. Even worse when they decide they can make more money selling it out of the country instead, too. I like the look of the F10 M5, especially in white. There is one i see locally that gets regularly fanged, and have seen it drag people off at the lights before, and it looks and sounds great. I'd skip the shitbox (flamesuit on; its ugly, sounds bad and unreliable) that was the E60 and save/wait for the F10 to depreciate into grasp.
  7. I cant help with this, but i'm curious, does low coolant on a E46 trigger the CEL?

    Quick Questions

Sounds like a load of crap to me. Lots of cars running aluminium parts on green coolant, for many many years with no issues. Why is BMW any different? Hell, my Rovers are all alloy engines, copper core radiator, steel coolant pipes.... all on green coolant, and the only issue they have is with the steel pipes corroding due to shitty design and metal. I understand on the newer cars they need the BMW unicorn piss to lubricate the coolant pump or something, but older models should be fine.
  9. Costs fall squarely onto the dealer then imo. A bit sh*t the warranty wont cover it, but those bastards will weasel out of anything they can.
  10. IMO (non M3) E36 are so plentiful these days, and worth almost nothing, that i wouldnt even bother having a second look at one that had rust. Hell, i wouldnt even look twice at one with bad paint these days, and just move onto the next one. I guess it depends on what you want the car for too. If its a race car, and dirt cheap, might still be good.
  11. This will work, but be damn sure the bit is snug in the hex or you risk stripping it out.
  12. Oh wow, i stand corrected. Fair enough then, i'd be pissed off too if they hadnt come to the party. Thats pretty poor. Compared to any NZ courier, Fedex is amazing. They got a steering rack from the UK, to me, in 5 days, over Christmas. I laughed when it said the ETA was 27th Dec, but ill be damned if it wasn't in my hands on the 27th, and that includes having to clear customs and pay GST. I find with DHL and Fedex they pre-pay GST and customs fees on your behalf, get it straight through customs, and then once you pay them its on your doorstep in a day or two.

    E81 130i

I could see that in the side window profile

    E81 130i

Wow, there is something really weird with that front guard gap and paint shade. If you wanted the weird 3 door, i think it'd be the one to get as they sure as anything arent common.
  15. Yeah but changing address should be a pretty uncommon thing to happen, and at that, I bet you didn't actually lose that $200 because wouldn't youshop be liable for the costs to either recover the item or replace it since it was their fault? Doesn't sound like something that should be a worry 98% of the time.
  16. Out of curiosity, how do you know/why should it have cloth seats instead of the leather?
  17. He wants something that handles better, so i'd say the E55 is out as they are a bit like an old muscle car. Great in a straight line, but just arent fun in the corners. Plus, once again itll make the E39 look like a corolla for reliability.
  18. Sounds like you need to go a bit easier on the throttle.... A real man uses his right foot as traction control.
  19. Also used Youshop plenty, for both UK and US items. Never had an issue. +1 to threads like this being useless in general, everyone has an opinion of bad experience, with anything. I could say "WARNING WARNING WARNING DONT USE Z PETROL BECAUSE THE ATTENDANT POURED IT ON MY WIFE BY ACCIDENT ONE TIME" (true story)
  20. Ok, I want to believe, but for the love of whatever, please just put up the links being requested. Stop being so secret squirrel about it all. What's worse, you linking to what you actually want us to know, or for us to go googling and make our own conclusions from whatever random stuff we find?
  21. But did he actually? Im also not completely sure what im looking at in this thread... and whats with this "thats my old blog" crap and refusing to link to your current site? If you want to name drop "Bosch", actually spell it right or your credibility is shot, or do you actually mean "Bosh"? If it's Bosch, they make an awful lot of products, and not all of them big or good, so you might want to be a bit more specific.
  22. Jebus you will argue about anything, won't you Dave? You're getting as bad as Ron these days. You need to chill out a bit eh, can't be good for your blood pressure. That blue one has the rare ///M fabric interior. MUCH better than full leather IMO The yellow one has been through heaps of owners in the past year or two, including iirc Brent. Last i saw it was forsale down here for about 20k before it was stacked. The wheels on the grey one do it no favours, they look so weak on it, and the lowering on the silver one makes it look a bit dumb. The blue one would be my jam.
  23. Im not a huge fan of the E60, too "gadgety" and overweight for me, but damn that's probably one of the best looking i have seen. Good luck, cant imagine it will hang around long.
  24. Its quite frankly a bit crazy they didnt, considering the power output, and the target market of "performance". Even an MSport 130i shouldve had an LSD standard.
