  1. want to trade some 8 inch barrels for the 9's + cash your way
  2. Is the engine still fine? if not has the fault been found that destroyed it
  3. Have a talk to speed factor in Tauranga http://speedfactor.co.nz/ They have plenty of people using them in their race cars. Not sure what trustful is but speed factor do stand behind them
  4. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=419804550 Might need a little guard work
  5. 1k seems a bit steep. Might be best to order from overseas. If you haven't seen this yet it might be worth a look http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=...;fg=20&hl=6 I've found that realoem prices seem to be about what they cost from US sellers
  6. I actually only asked because it looks like it had a bit of color to it. Cheers for the info.
  7. What pistons and size head gasket do you use? What sort of compression ratio are you aiming for? Is the spacer heat treated? I'll be looking forward to seeing what this turns into
  8. Would the 84mm stroke rotating assembly not exist as well?
  9. ok to fill this in I got some getrag 240 springs from kayne barrie (+heaps of good advice). The 240 springs are a little bit longer but just fit. Unfortunately I let one of my class mates have a go at putting it all back together. While this was happening a spring was lost. Good news is he has tracked down a part number for the original springs and ordered some. I hope it's the right spring. If it is I'll post up the part number
  10. 92 car with an 84mm stroke?
  11. Interesting how no weight was added to the front left. Is this going to be road legal? We'll have to compare when our cars are running. Any chance of some more pictures of the cage
  12. There were a lot of features that hartge offered that aren't there. Not at all easy to tell if the engine is a 2,2.5 or 2.8 Doesn't look all that special and my money is on it not being 2.8l

    ITB M42

If it isn't too much trouble it'd be appreciated. Now that you've mentioned it I can just see the bend
  14. It'll touch on the guibo if it isn't bent up. Still the same length though

Love your work. I'll be attempting an undertray/parts catcher at some stage. What thickness alloy did you use? and would you use that thickness if you were to do it again
  16. Is it a factory shifter? If you look in the following link. Is part 4 properly pushed into it's mount on the body? http://realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=...hg=25&fg=05

Yes I mean a box. Doesn't need to be anything flash. Just something that wont fall into your fan and pulleys Also add to the price a loss in fuel economy. Nice car though
  18. Cheers guys means a lot. Nearly done now. Should make special mention to my helper Tim. He's been a huge help with the cage and some other touch up bits. I'd be well behind without his help and left handed ness. We've sure learnt a lot doing this

Might want to make a heat shield. There was quite a noticeable difference on the dyno between factory and nothing before the maf sensor.
  20. +1 for any bit of rod with electrical tape wraped around it
  21. Cheers Glenn. Pulled and drained with no luck. The current waterpump is the black plastic/composite type. From your experience do you think these also have the same problems as the older variety of plastic? Here is a link with more info. http://jackassofalltrades.com/water-pump.html I'll have to sort out a scan. Anyone in Hamilton have the equipment to do it today or over the weekend? Otherwise i'll do it at tec on monday
  22. Fixing up an e46 323i. It wasn't coming up to temperature while highway cruising and has been getting some shocking fuel economy. I pulled the thermostat and have found this Now i'm trying to find the broken pieces. I've so far pulled the radiator and given it a proper flush out. Couldn't find it in there I'm about to drain the block and pull the waterpump. Are these little pieces anything to be overly concerned about?

    Guard Roller

I've given in. Will use a hammer instead
  24. Eye is looking fine. Just a small rust ring left atm. Ahh I see. I must not get out much. But yea i'm happy to share all Might be ok for drifting. It's fine for spirited driving. At the gymkhana day it was perfectly happy with overpowering the traction in the front(combination of loosing lock nut and soft rear springs). Not sure what they are rated to power wiseAnd here is the progress i've made Tutor had suggested to pull the booster. I wussed out. Just a snap of some of the easier tricky parts. Still need to finish welding the underside. Not so easy There is a diagonal to go inside the main hoop and harness bars still to go. Only part i'm not overly stoaked about is the diagonal going over the roof. It's still a bit low. Shouldn't be a problem for head room. I'll go lower in the seat if it comes to it. So the bits I need help with -How do I get rid of the fluffy roof -What do I do about paint on the bars- color, process and materials -Should I make up a dash bar for it or just make up some sort of removable strut brace -What should I use to re-seal the underseal that has burnt off -Have I done anything obviously wrong Turns out even after my many mistakes i've still had enough steel plus a bit extra. Engine and gearbox have been at a stand still. Will hopefully get the head done while still at tec
