  1. Ok got a couple questions for you guys! This relates to my BMW 325i Convertible, but apples to any BMW of this age, etc 1/ hood liner i replaced the foam hood liner in the engine room, with genuine BMW part. these are supplied with adhesive backing from new, you peel the plastic off like you would a sticker, and put it on. In 1990, of course this lasts 15-20 years, however as with all dealer supplied stuff its new old stock, and the glue is already perished. 6 months after install it is peeling away again. What should i use to stick it back? bearing in mind it goes onto a painted metal surface, so the "glue" must not be corrosive 2/ window grease my other question is maintenance of the sliders for the window regulators. I am particularly concerned as without looking i am very sure they will be cabby specific, so i don't want to stress them any more than needed. the graphite paste is usually totally lost its lubricating effectiveness by now, all mixed up with water and gunk. what should i use to lubricate it, and where can i buy it? BMW shrugged their shoulders when i asked, and no part number available I have new clips here ready to go, providing they are the same as E32/E34/E36, i suspect they will be but i can't remember Cheers team! let me know if you want pictures etc. Andy
  2. at that milage probably suspension bushings etc are at the end of thier life
  3. i guess when we all talk about cars we keep it all strictly factual and boring too.
  4. i need a 2002! very hard to come by tho
  5. not sure how you got attracted to a falcodore pickup truck then --- no matter how cool I think it is or those in the E30 scene think it is, I have found the E30 is becoming more and more a second or third or fourth date kind of car. a late 80s car is still a late 80s car to someone that doesnt know what they are looking at, even less a woman! Being a convertible probably doesnt help either, probably comes across as trying to hard and wanky etc too. although in saying that, i suspect it will be the opposite way around in another 10-15 years time, with luck i will have found someone by then lol.
  6. Thats the case on a lot of RHD Euro cars, not only in this area but also enigine bay access to stuff etc too. if its any cosolation there are more people in the world struggling with LHD jap cars than RHD euros!
  7. looking forward to seeing this again! assuming all suspensiona dn everything else is still the same, how do you find the handling different between the V8 and the M54? a V8 E30 sounds really cool, id just be worried it is nose heavy, the internet is plauged by that comment, but no real world experience from 99% of them
  8. +1 on above. Are you moving to Auckland or elsewhere?
  9. My E34 is a UK import too, might be why it hasnt sold lol
  10. they are very underrated, they arevery nice to drive, comfortable and very reliable even 25 years later, especially the 535i version.
  11. not sure why its wasting a lot of your time, you need a better accounting system. Only time it costs me in both the business I own and the business I run is about 15 minutes every two months punching in the spit out into the IRD website and making a bank payment. but agree on the rest.
  12. i think you will find the member started this thread!
  13. Although i am all for supporting NZ business, they do need to wake up and be competitive, and competitiveness does not just mean on price. I can look through decide what i want and build a pelican order in about half an hour and buy. No NZ BMW parts specialist new or second hand has that facility, so its usually more than a day backwards and forwards, and I feel bad asking for quotes on 20 things etc with no gaurentee they will get the job. I have no idea if Gavin or Paul etc are cheaper or not on the orders over $800, but because my time is not worth the day or more mucking around, they dont even get thier foot in the door. those guys only get the scraps. That is one example of one sub industry, but its all common place in engineering, goods wholesalers, even shipping companies How long can NZ go on as poor little old us.
  14. my recycling bins on my DIY mowed berm didnt even blow over let alone away.
  15. ill make a photo shop when i get home later haha
  16. or even an eyelid that went across both lights and the plate space so it looked more e34 like at the back
  17. They all look very awesome, i like the CSi! does anyone do aftermarket talklights for these? i dont mean some wanky looking thing, but something similar in style to facelift E39, X5 etc with the neon tubes or whatever they are would look really good in my head, have always thought the stock ones are the the only thing that detracts from the overall cars look
  18. or buy my V12 E34 Touring for not much more. All front suspension less than 5000km old, most of it 2000km tops. just some bushes in the back still to do but havent bothered with that, plenty of life there still. Shameless plug!
  19. most wagons/people movers the obvious reason has got to be people have toured in them and then left them when they gone to the next country???
  20. because Andy didnt see it! and i got a 2.8 that could have gone in it too. from my skim read sounds like radiator a bit blocked up and/or coolant to water mix not correct.
  21. wow i didnt know thats what the M62 is like, thats a very obvious design flaw! is it possible to retrofit the M60 system?
  22. yeah thats true mine will last about 6 or 7 hours thats about it, off a brand new battery. but stereo on for 45 minutes, forget it, dead car. e30 is the same.
