I got all my injectors rebuilt, tested etc at my closest Bosch agent who are diesel and turbo, was just over $200 including all parts etc. I strongly recommend you pick up one of these before you start putting the intake back on, much easier to hold th nuts so you don't drop them, only costs about $5 this tool as well. push the button and little claws come out etc. a magnet solution doesn't work

its a pretty long line i think
-
i think i brought one for a dollar at one point

im as e30 fanatical as they come, but you are dead right, id go E46 M3 if these two were my only choice.
-
My E30 is less than .01% too, and also does about as much as a pack of cyclists. I should be exempt too.

WBABB22060EC16319 i can't think of any option on the car that isn't on that list other than the sport seats, but would have thought thats standard on all cabs?

i do have the feeling already that calypso was special order only, does seem rare

There is an abundance of supply, means prices for it are very very low, and recycling is uneconomical without government grants. However, just because there is an abundance of supply doesn't mean we shouldn't recycle it, or be conservative in the ways its used. Same goes for Lead, and yet we aren't too fond of burying that either. And oil, the world would never run out only 60 years ago Getting off topic now, i could write a piece on it, but thats another day. The justification, if Jons is indeed true, is just crazy, and like most government subsides, not well thought out, and beaurocrats bashing on the government till to see how much money falls out

E30 M3 Just Popped Up On TradeMe
_ethrty-Andy_ replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
Wheels are MK Motorsport, reasonably well known in BMW circles, i am surprised you haven't heard of them before Jon. Admittedly, they are 5 stud only, so M3 would be only E30 they fit. Looks like a good car to be honest. I am not in the market for one just yet so can't comment on price other than they seem to be rising faster than my income! -
well they should be banned all together lol. providing thier use of the road complies with road rules, and dont hold up regular traffic, i dont mind that. they do not damage roads except for when thier bones and bike frames get grinded into it when they fk up lol
-
if that was me driving, i would feel a little uncomfy about that gun pointing at the back of my skull
-
thanks for that Jon, it does help explain this, i am however left feeling penalised. Is that they way they want me to feel? All marketing aside, a 100% EV vehicle is as bad or worse for the environment than a traditional internal combustion engine, not least being the uneconomics of recycling Lithium Ion batteries and other "technologies", but use of unrecyclable plastics etc. When a internal combustion car comes to the end of its life, it is predominantly steel and aluminum which is recycled in one of 1,000 plants around the world The company I work for has already had Mitsubishi New Zealand knocking on our door panicking about what to do with thier iMiev batteries. Those cars are coming to the age of replacement already, at a maximum of only 3 years old (at the time). At least Toyota prolong the use of thier batteries by the petrol engine progressively doing more and more of the work. Its only a matter of time before Nissan, BMW etc join the party. NZTA obviously have thought about the front end, lower emissions and ecological damage during their useful life. Unfortunately thats not where it ends, but this is probably beyond the scope of that department

Ok so my understanding is the reason we don't pay for RUC on petrol cars is because it's built into the fuel price. Conversely Diesel, and other fuel types, doesn't, and therefore we pay RUC seperately. I have come to accept that hybrids like Prius, Camry, civic etc also don't pay RUC because they are still classed a petrol vehicle. The electricity they use still comes (initially at least) from petrol. Can someone therefore shed some light on why these new generation fully electric cars are somehow exempt from all if the different guises or how RUC are collected? They have no combustion engine, relying soley on an electric wall socket, which as we all know isn't taxed.

do you know chassis code of the car the box came out of? just doing some research now, looking like its some south african thing. Seems to be a related to road speed calculation to help trans work out what gear it is in, working with the kick down etc. But thats only one source, can't find much info about it.

hmm im stumped, never came across that before, or maybe just never noticed. certainly never unplugged anything out of it. its not a sport automatic box, my e30 had that and it would be an 8 pin connector. i would have said its not the reverse light switch, but seeing Ray said that, its possible its the reverse light switch, but usually on an E30 automatic it comes off the switch built into the shifter. Only thing i can think of is its for electric torque convertor lockup, but i didn't think that was available on BMW versions of the box. for reference, E34 M20 use same box as E30 if you were wondering if there was a difference, at least the ones i have pulled apart.

i am very tempted to ban -
i agree. E36 are nice cars, but lacking the wow factor, its the build quality that let them down the most, now it is very hard to find a good example. Easier to find tidy E30 etc, and E46 and E39 at the same price level, its no wonder they are struggling to get $1k now E28 in the other hand, essentially an E30 with room for 4 adults. Cool. Though that colour doesn't float my boat like it does for E30
-
Finished my manual conversion, put the E30 back on the ground and enjoyed a 5th cog. then proceeded to valet it.. what a difference. Progress post to come in project thread later in the week

if you want to go in and inspect, then you might as well replace when you are in there any way, $60 is hardly going to break the bank. little HP gain, better fuel economy. if it doesn't work, $60 is no huge loss, if it does, you will make that many many times over in the next 60,000km or more. it seems a no brainer to me no matter which way you look at it ----- And my other comment: This is exactly why i don't bother with group buys on bimmersport anymore. Some wanker comes in and takes the post off topic. If the group buy is not for you, thats cool, shut the hell up and leave it for the people that are interested.

since you went there, a hard decision between that an an E36 M3 i think

Have driven almost all the State Highways in New Zealand now. Australian Terrian is totally different to New Zealands. Despite living in Wellington, only two places i could reasonably say that 100km/h is too slow is the Waikato expressway, and Auckland Northern Motorway after Albany, in that order. intercity motorways 100 is fast enough, and the open road is just too windy. Potentially the Desert Road could be increased north of Waiouru for the 20km or so before it starts to get windy.
