Just had the same drama with our e70. I welded a studay to the lock nut and slide hammered it off, then welded a wheel nut to the spliced section. What a PITA!

Got me some new monsoons for the 316i for $1. Super excited Will hopefully get time to paint the style 32s this weekend and chuck them on. Then drive slowly everywhere

Worth mentioning that you need rod bolts in a JZ to push proper power. Standard piston/rod will manage 500wkw quite well. About the same as an n5x without a rod bolt upgrade

Plenty of mk5+ golf around that have been treated to a tune to make them slightly less disappointing to drive and a few "hot" ST225 Focus popping up. Start with basics ( no doubt you have already), fuel, air, spark, compression and timing Then I'd be looking at cam/crank sensor testing. Or finding someone friendly to scan it for you
