I read the article at the time of release, and thought at the time that the Dealer Principal (Mr Beacham himself) has both known exactly what he was doing at his time of purchase, and then gone out of his way to muddy the waters with regard to the actual ownership of this vehicle (which he onsold for 10x his purchase price). Upon reading it again now - if reported correctly,,,,,,I do understand there are two sides to every story - this article does not paint Mr Beacham in a very good light at all. On the strength of this, I wouldn't be dealing with this man at all.

Exchange rate, shipping, GST, etc would see this car at mid $50's landed in NZ. And then compliance on top of that and who knows what gremlins could be hiding there! I would fully expect to have $60k nzd into this car with a WoF and rego in NZ. It's up to you to figure out whether or not that number is good enough for this car. -
I thought the star of that first vid was the helicopter pilot. That man has TALENT!! And huge kahooona's with it.

wow - that's all VERY illuminating. And here was me thinking the Estoril blue one in ChCh (below, and https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/m/listing/3632610010?bof=SkrdeShB ) correct me if I'm wrong - I thought this was a 'geniune' car. In fact the very first question in theTradeMe Q&A asks "was car imported as a damaged?" (sic) and the answer is "no - it wasn't. I'm not sure why that comes up". This car has an asking price of $80k. The current owner has a duty of responsibility to represent the vehicle as properly as possible. I'm not sure if that is what is actually happening here. In either the Silver OR Estoril blue z3m's in discussion here. Caveat emptor, surely.

I see the person who listed this car (and the other 41 items they have listed on TM) has a quite nice 21,000km 1999 z3m Coupe (not s54, but s50 I think and it's a snip at $99,500) that I'm almost certain belonged to Ray @ HellBM at one stage. Might even still be his...? Could be wrong, and just sayin. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/z3/listing/3726820266?bof=OgIDzS6L

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?

gee. Altogether too many unanswered questions with this one. I'm out. BUT the seller has done exactly the correct thing with his $1 reserve auction. Caveat emptor, as they say. -
I'll guarantee that was somebody's absolute pride and joy as it left the showroom floor. Even 20years later it looks terrific. Wonder why nobody bothered to save it?

Good grief, that is a LOT of motor car! TradeMe ad says it was $430k when new - does not surprise me. It's an import, but pity the original few owners who sucked the depreciation dollars on these type of cars.

No, there is a $120k red nz new rx2 coupe for TM sale in PalmNth at the moment but that is not mine. Did see the $150k one and yes, it's special. Our white one is a BaT import from Seattle that is being rhd coverted in Dunedin as we speak and I am hanging out for its completion. -
thank god for that! Driver must be kicking himself.
-
Gosh. She's a little rough, but the seller knows that and also knows the asking price is reflective of that. There does appear to be a fair amount of interest in this one on TM. Price driven, surely.

geeezus!! Is that a motorcycle going over the top of that thing that caused that damage?? If so, I wouldn't want to be the rider.

My last 2 Toyota Hiace diesels did 450km of highway running every day. Changed the oil / filter once a month and the belts about every 250,000 (Toyota advise 150k. Don't believe them). Did 650km in the first one and almost 800km in the second (both written off by 1-stray cows, and 2-drunk driver) without any clogging at all of the DPF (diesel particulate filter). Faultless motoring. Annoyed I never got to 1million mark in either.

Sounds like a lot - but I sold a 1973 Mazda rx3 steering wheel last year (great condition - original) for just over $2.5k. It had a lot less buttons on it, too.

Is This Where The E30 Market Is Now..?
leonf replied to E30 325i Rag-Top's topic in TradeMe discussions
Yes,,,,,,,,,,the BUY NOW is set at $25k. But look closer and the no reserve starting price is actually $15k. So theoretically you could be the only bidder at $15k and the car would be yours. That level seems a bit more attractive, yes? -
"But, to support your argument a bit, E39s are 'old man' cars and they (we!) are perhaps more likely to have spare cash. M3s are 'younger man' cars, perhaps less cash lying around?" 'Old man' = (hopefully) mortgage free and probably with spare cash. Younger man with a mortgage will find a bit of financial stress coming their way. There is certainly a division of wealth in NZ. The haves and the have-nots. I don't know how to solve it, and I don't think it's a good thing for us as a country. Happy, though, to be on the right side of it.

I actually think it's more a case of not very much is selling at the moment in the weekend/special car sector. That money being spent there is from the descretionary pile and people in general are reluctant to dig into that pile of cash as they are not sure if the current economic mess we are in (as a country) will impact them personally. Best to hold and wait to see if the new mortgage rate is going to be just bad.............or catastrophic.

for sale,,,,,,,,,,,,,e46 m3 coupe. Manual. Has to be the worst ad I've ever seen on TradeMe. Only asking $42k Desciption says "2002 m3" That's it!! Good luck with that. Pic below is the best of the 3 in the ad. Looks a little 'used'. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3600457430?tm=email&et=45&mt=729E11BE-B8E5-4BCB-A7AF-EACDC8ACB2FD&bof=sDLNGmG3

Anybody keen for a nice 2002?? https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/listing/3596340928?tm=email&et=45&mt=729E11BE-B8E5-4BCB-A7AF-EACDC8ACB2FD&bof=YoeEB7jb Yes, it's a $40k starting price - but if you started with a $20k shitter it would end up costing a lot more than $40k to get it to this level. This one is an auto, which will put a few people off no doubt. -
I find it extremely heartening when you (I'm guessing) younger guys refer to us older guys as "gentlemen". Shows a nice bit of respect, and I really do like it. However - just to let y'all know. Not all of us old fella's (me included) are worthy of the title. In fact - happily unworthy in some cases! Apropos of nothing really, just sayin..........
-
ever thought about a 1m clone,,,,,,,,,,,flared arches, new bumpers etc?? It DOES work as a sleeper, but that 1m bodywork is awesome!
-
yes.............I know it's not in NZ and it's lhd. But LOOK at it!!! My kind of awesome. If somebody did this in NZ I would find the $$ from somewhere.

Current ad on TM says the vendor has owned it for 5 years ------------- but the $40k ad above says it was for sale in Sept 2020. It's now April 2022. Something does not add up correctly. (not that it really matters..........just sayin').
