  1. Nice surprise to find someone had decided to kick mine in today. Insurance company will doubtless see them as an undeclared modification, so I'd best source my own.
  2. Totally agree with @Olaf, estate agents are slippery creatures; best to wear some form of hobnail boot or crampon whilst standing on their faces.
  3. UUC were the business when they were the only ones offering a DSSR, but these days their pricing seems "ambitious." All their gear is absolutely top notch in quality however. Rogue Engineering do similarly priced / quality gear. You can remove so much porridge from the factory setup with new bushings across the board and refreshing the gearbox attachment points - FCP euro do a fairly cheap E36 / M44 setup with factory bushings and the time tested classic Z3 lever.
  4. Wouldn't it be more likely because it's CLAR platform? Isn't an M235i xDrive GC on the UKL platform (depending on options) 200-250kg lighter? I can't really think of any safety or driver aids that would add significant weight that haven't been in use for the last 20 years... Not being facetious, I genuinely can't think of any that aren't sensors / wiring / 1 million lines of code.

  6. That's Fran's car, serial BMW owner. Awesome spec.
  7. Not sure of @NZ_InFerno's exact experience, but I've been through a few E90's over the years, and the Xenon's are notorious for burning a ring on the inside of the plastic, had an F11 that did the same as well. It's obviously not pitting, but it looks really pitted when you look at the headlight from side on.
  8. @M3AN you don't happen to have any Tamiya Mini 4WD cars tucked away? Keen to re-live my Modelair childhood.
  9. Do you know if this needs valvetrain upgrades, and do you know the duration?
  10. Just me, or does the full fat M Performance kit look absolutely faaaarken awesome?? The rear bumper is light years ahead of the standard item (let's not discuss the over & under exhaust) and the larger front intakes with the side canards make so much more sense. Pub discussion with a couple of serial M owners this arvo, and the general consensus was "Why does it take another $30K (and the rest) of bits to perfect an M product?" The cynic / realist in me knows that it's an easy money spinner, but it's almost egregious that bumpers that are so cohesive for the awkward design they're working with are held back as an aftersales product when the main items look so sh*t.
  11. Front and rear screens are super easy to do yourself, the trick is not bending the (now unobtanium) chrome / shadowline centre metal clip. Getting them back in... Find someone you hate and ask them to do it 😁
  12. @Vass that shot of Bertelli is insane, awesome work!
  13. Any colour you like, as long as it's black (or blue).
  14. Just me or is the roof warped on the passenger side... https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/318/listing/3769403960
  15. That's a Fratelli Pedrini Sarezzo wheel, which despite being a genuine supplier of E30 basketweaves, went out of business in 1992, so I can only offer you $150 and you pay shipping /s. F.P.S. was a supplier of 'weaves, as were Alumetall, their wheels were made to the same spec as the BBS RZ320 (15x7 Et24) 'weaves. Differing manufacturer embossing under the cap for BBS / FPS / Alu but the same part numbers et al. The F.P.S. wheels also had JWL (Japan Light Wheel Alloy) standard embossing.
  16. https://www.transfercar.co.nz/ Get a van and load it full of stuff.
  17. In the Symonds St drag race to 30kph? Probably the Porsche. The least naff personalised plate competition? The E46 by a nose.
  18. 748R's are awesome - absolutely ironclad values too. Ohlins or Showa forks?
  19. Is that the silver or white font on the plates?
  20. Have a go in a Superb 4x4 Sportline. Slightly more boring to drive than an Octavia vRS, but the boot is absolutely cavernous - 160L bigger than an F31, and it also uses the same motor as the Golf-R. The Mazda 6 wag is a good call as well - my friends with multiple kids all seemed to have migrated to them as load luggers.
  21. This one has been sitting on TM for a while as well https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/318is/listing/3724757397
