I almost bought the NZ new dakar M3 sedan for sale a few months back. This one looks to be quite a lot nicer condition though. GLWS

That's surprising, I've been through a few short shifters and by far the best has been fully stock with refreshed bushes, stock lever etc. I don't find it to be slushy at all. The 420G is a bit of a pig when it's cold and at low speed, bmw got it right with the stock lever imo. As soon as you shorten the throw the shift effort goes up too much.

M44 imo. Can't wait to finish building mine for my E36.

yep I used it in my M3. Meets all the same specs. Mostly just seems like a packaging change.

Yeah the tips can be easily modified to fit an E90. The bigger hurdle in my way is that I don't have enough money

Comfort seats, not as sexy as the sport seats.

They seem like such a bargain at the price they are selling for. A manual one came up not long ago which I was tempted by. They are such good cars for only a few thou.

And usually 5 of them are with the NZ couriers lol

Diy kinda guy myself as well but they're just around the corner from my work and they always have nice stuff parked outside. Minty E24 M6 a month or so back.

Piecing together my M42/44 hybrid. Ended up ponying up for some valve springs so I can rev the nuts off it. Schrick cams are backordered and the exchange rate sucks so that will be phase two. The flywheel weighs nothing and everything's been balanced so it should be pretty zingy.

M57 motor, regarded as pretty bulletproof

Pretty rare in NZ. There was a flood of them for sale about 6 months ago for whatever reason.

Bumper replaced but not painted. The 240p photos are what do it for me.

Might as well mention it here since it's relatively on topic. I placed an order via schmiedmann for M42/44 engine parts hoping to build it over the christmas holidays. Some of the parts on the order weren't going to arrive before christmas so Schmiedmann jumped through hoops over email to completely change my order and refund items that wouldn't arrive in time. They had it sorted and shipped within 24 hours of sending the email. And I got the last few bits from FCP since they had them in stock. Maybe I've been lucky but their customer service has been great in my experience.

For non stock items they can take up to a couple months before they arrive (not always that long just depends how hard it is to get the part from BMW germany). So If you're not in a rush and want good pricing, I have no problem ordering from schmiedmann for genuine parts. People say the customer service is bad but that has never been my experience. They always answer emails within a day or so.

To be honest, they are expensive but not crazy expensive to buy brand new. ~210USD+shipping for both from schmiedmann. Other than getting them off a wrecked car which might be hard to find, I'd just pony up for genuine ones.

To be fair the 320Z is a pretty desirable gearbox, more so than the getrag 5 speed that came in most E36/46. The ZF came in the E36 M3 and E46 330 etc, it's pretty bulletproof and has one of the nicest gear changes of any BMW box imo. Going rate is 3-4kish depending on what's included. You can get a getrag 5 speed for $1000.

1700nzd shipped from Schmiedmann right now with black Friday sales. 430 a corner but you might get stung for tax at the border with it being over $1000.
