Aha yes how could I forget those wheels, saw your car parked in the Royal Oak Mall outside Wendy's recently!
-
Haha, I was just about to get the link for http://www.egauges.com/ when I saw your thread title. I got a VDO kit for my car, worked out about 40 bucks cheaper importing rather than buying locally!

Looks like they are really going to town on it! I suppose somewhat of a necessity if they are going to be driving/drifting it hard around race tracks.
-
Awesome. What a place!
-
Awesome!
-
That looks amazing!

Looks too much like a primer coat of paint for my liking A good style of wheel though.
-
That is a great shot, got it in high res?

Watch those awkward driveways with that spoiler! I'd love a decent spoiler/spliter but it would just get ripped to shreds on my driveway

While on this topic, (slight hi-jack sorry) I have Bridgestone Playz on my wheels (came with them on an E46 from Japan) They have no dot rating visible - would that be a compliance issue?

Dark green E34 540i touring that lives around Greenlane-Onehunga, Heading to the Greenlane motorway on ramp at about 5.15pm today. Looks so good!!

Yellow cake on the oil cap! My friends Golf did this while the head gasket was starting to fail! It looks like a semi-rough one thats had a quick clean up so it looks shinny, but has had a lot of maintenance neglected. Move on!

Heh, that was easy. Ordered it from Newmarket BMW, $3.5 + GST ex Germany 2 weeks. Cheers for the tip, I would have ended up buying extra parts I dont really need from Pelican otherwise! I might actually start comparing costs between getting them locally from BMW and Pelican. The shipping costs are a real nuisance when importing them not to mention import taxes over $400!
-
Yeah I was thinking of trying to get it locally... Ill give them a ring and see what's what. I saw they are $2.00 from REAL OEM, I need to get some stuff from them so I might add it to my order if the local BMW suppliers cant get them or are a rip off.

Could be a USA LHD item, but I am seeking one of these surrounds for the A/M shifter console button. Its a long surround/spacer Part Number 51168184547 It looks like this, fitting around the button. Let me know if you have one!

Thats amazing, I've never seen this BMW model before.

Cool man, that should make for a really good drive. I like the NA appeal personally, after all 200hp in a 1 tonne or so car will offer a good power to weight ratio with the right gearing!

Each to their own. I like modified automatics.

Don't bother with a manual conversion, get a shift kit for your ZF 5 speed trans. http://www.importperformancetrans.com/cata...t-kit-1890.html I sent over my Toyota gearbox valve body for them to modify, a massive different in performance, the changes are instant and firm, as quick as anyone could shift a manual - probably faster! To compensate for the extra heat, I fitted a large trans fluid cooler.

Any updates on this build Ray?

Looks great, but I would probably stick the wing back on, helps finish the E36 Sedan rear end off a bit.

Timothy Dalton's V8 Vantage V540 of course!

I think they are great looking vehicles, but with the way 25+ year old cars (4x4s) especially are treated in NZ I wouldn't touch one unless it was a sub 100k mint 1 owner type of deal. A few years back I got bored of my 540i and test drove a few 4.6 HSE mid 90s models... very cool, but I decided it wouldn't be a car I could live with, later of which I spoke to one of my dads colleagues that had one and he enlightened me on what had gone wrong with this - needless to say it put me off that idea. But in light of this I suppose the 80s versions would be better due to their simplicity compared to the 1990's models, most of the issues the guy above had were electrical.. with a side serving of suspension and cooling issues. Personally if I was after such a 4x4 vehicle I'd buy a Hilux double cab ute / Hilux surf with a lexus V8 in it, but of course they are Japanese.
